Get PDFDie Digitalisierung hat den Wert von Daten in der heutigen Unternehmenslandschaft massiv gesteigert, doch viele Unternehmen schöpfen dieses Potenzial bislang nicht aus. Um diesen Herausforderungen zu begegnen, wurde 2023 das EU-geförderte Forschungsprojekt DATAMITE ins Leben gerufen. Es bietet einen modularen Ansatz und praxisorientierte Werkzeuge, um Organisationen dabei zu unterstützen, ihre Daten effizient zu erschließen, zu nutzen und zu monetarisieren. Diese Open-Source-Tools werden über eine Plattform frei zugänglich bereitgestellt. Eines der zentralen Ergebnisse des Projekts ist das neu entwickelte Datenmonetarisierungs-Framework, das Unternehmen dabei unterstützt, datenbasierte Geschäftsmodelle zu entwickeln und umzusetzen. Ein zentrales Element des Frameworks ist das Modell zur Beschreibung und zur Auswahl passender Monetarisierungsstrategien für Organisationen. Es ermöglicht, Monetarisierungsstrategien entlang der Dimensionen
Wertversprechen, Wertschöpfungskette, Ertragsmechanik und Zielkunden zu identifizieren und zu analysieren. Die Auswahl der passenden Strategie wird durch einen strukturierten Fragebogen ermöglicht, mithilfe dessen die Organisationen ihre strategischen Ziele, Fähigkeiten und Herausforderungen bewerten. Insbesondere kleine und mittlere Unternehmen profitieren von dieser praxisorientierten Herangehensweise. Durch ein aufwandsarmes Lernen und kostenloses Nutzen der verschiedenen Tools können sie ihre Daten effizient strukturieren, analysieren und monetarisieren. So können auch KMU die Potenziale der Datenökonomie heben.Digitalization has significantly increased the value of data in today's business landscape, but many companies are not fully capitalizing on this potential. To address these challenges, the EU-funded research project DATAMITE was launched in 2023. The project provides a modular approach and practical tools to help organizations efficiently access, utilize, and monetize their data. These open-source tools are available through a dedicated platform. One of the project’s key outcomes is a newly developed data monetization framework that guides companies in developing and implementing data-based business models. A core component of this framework is a model that helps organizations define and select suitable monetization strategies. It enables companies to identify and assess monetization strategies across four dimensions: value proposition, value chain, revenue mechanics, and target customers. Selecting the right strategy is facilitated by a structured questionnaire that organizations use to evaluate their strategic goals, capabilities, and challenges. Small and medium-sized companies particularly benefit from this practical approach. By leveraging cost-effective learning opportunities and free access to various tools, they can efficiently structure, analyze, and monetize their data. This enables SMEs to unlock the full potential of the data economy

Get PDFThe establishment, expansion, and operation of reliable value-creation networks present an increasing challenge for manufacturing companies, given the growing volatility of the market environment in which they operate. For example, the development of new business areas, mass customization, or the disruption of supply chains frequently necessitates the establishment of partnerships with new suppliers, both short- and long-term. The utilization of supplier key performance indicators (KPIs) can facilitate the selection of new business partners, as they provide a quick and objective indication of their reliability. Nevertheless, access to potentially sensitive KPIs, such as a supplier's on-time delivery performance, is currently mainly limited to existing supplier relationships and not made available to other companies. This paper presents a coordinated approach for supplier rating systems, thereby enabling the privacy-aware exchange of supplier KPIs across organizations and exemplifies it using an application in the “Internet of Production”.
Specifically, we conduct interdisciplinary research by formulating the requirements from a business perspective (supply chain design, trust in data sharing, and business models) and evaluating promising solutions from a technical perspective (information security, data quality, data sovereignty, and collaboration). This approach enables the combination of state-of-the-art technology with the evolving requirements of stakeholders, thus creating new paths for exploiting inter-organizational supply chain rating
