El movimiento dentro de la materialidad y el tiempo. Un análisis sociocultural de los usos y sentidos en un bien cultural. La Plaza Mayor de Madrid
Full text linkThis article reconstructs the dynamics of a cultural asset in the city of Madrid in order to record the uses and meanings that are built in its daily life. This is the case of the Plaza Mayor, which has been the scene of events and demonstrations since its beginnings and which currently configures diverse identities as a product of social, urban, economic, political, tourist and architectural changes.
In the form of a descriptive narrative, the ultimate goal is to generate knowledge that allows us to understand the symbolic organization of the square. Methodological work was carried out with observations, analysis of documents and informal conversations. As a result, it was possible to identify a set of social inequalities resulting from an increase in visitors, from the gentrification process itself, from the erosion in the quality of life of those who live there, which were shaping a square with other relational logics. These results were analyzed from a socio-anthropological perspective.En este artículo se reconstruye la dinámica de un bien cultural de la ciudad de Madrid con el fin de inscribir los usos y sentidos que se construyen en su cotidianidad. Se trata del caso de la Plaza Mayor que desde sus inicios ha sido escenario de eventos y manifestaciones y que en la actualidad configura identidades diversas como producto de cambios sociales, urbanos, económicos, políticos, turísticos y arquitectónicos.
A modo de narrativa descriptiva, el fin último es generar conocimiento que permita comprender la organización simbólica de la plaza. Se trabajó metodológicamente con observaciones, análisis de documentos y conversaciones informales. Como resultado fue posible identificar un conjunto de desigualdades sociales producto de un incremento de visitantes, del propio proceso de gentrificación, de la erosión en la calidad de vida de quienes viven ahí, que fueron configurando una plaza con otras lógicas relacionales. Dichos resultados se analizaron desde un enfoque socio antropológico
Los niños son parte del paisaje: maternidades y circulación infantil en el sur de Chile
Full text linkThis article seeks to contribute to the understanding of the social and political construction of motherhood in recent Chilean history, based on a socio-anthropological approach to child circulation. The work is based on an analysis of the life stories of three rural housewives from the province of Osorno, whose biographies challenge the ideals historically assigned to family arrangements in Chile. Influenced by family-centered and patriarchal mandates, these ideals coincide with a model that privatizes the family unit based on a strict division of gender roles within the domestic sphere and the legitimization of the care and upbringing of children exclusively within those boundaries. In tension with this structure, the life trajectories of these women allow us to explore the daily routine of circulation, the material and cultural conditions that sustain it, and the social importance conferred upon it, in order to identify and analyze specific interpretive frameworks and moral values associated with motherhood in our country.Este artículo busca aportar al conocimiento de los procesos de construcción social y política de las maternidades en la historia chilena reciente, a partir de un abordaje socio-antropológico de la circulación infantil. El trabajo se basa en el análisis de la historia de vida de tres mujeres dueñas de casa campesinas de la provincia de Osorno, cuyas biografías disputan los ideales históricamente asignados a los arreglos familiares en Chile. Atravesados por mandatos familiaristas y patriarcales, dichos ideales coinciden con un modelo que privatiza al núcleo familiar en base a una estricta división de roles de género al interior del espacio doméstico y a la legitimación del cuidado y crianza de los niños y niñas exclusivamente dentro de esos contornos. En tensión con esta estructura, las trayectorias de vida de estas mujeres nos permiten explorar lo cotidiano de la circulación, las condiciones materiales y culturales que la sustentan, y la importancia social que se le confiere, con el fin de identificar y analizar específicos esquemas interpretativos y valores morales asociados al ejercicio materno en nuestro país
Memoria del Congreso Internacional de Revistas Universitarias (CIRU 2024) - Edición Chile: Innovando la comunicación académica desde los territorios
Full text linkThe International Congress of University Journals (CIRU 2024) was held from October 8 to 10, 2024, at the Isla Teja Campus of the Universidad Austral de Chile. The event gathered representatives of scientific and university journals from Latin America and the Caribbean, fostering a space for dialogue and reflection on the contemporary challenges of academic publishing, professionalization of editorial teams, and the strengthening of regional cooperation networks. Conducted in a hybrid format, the congress addressed key topics such as open science, editorial ethics, access to knowledge, manuscript evaluation, emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence—and the sustainability of editorial models. The program included plenaries, thematic panels, presentations of journals and publications, and opportunities for academic exchange and institutional articulation. CIRU 2024 positioned itself as a significant platform for reinforcing the Latin American university publishing ecosystem, highlighting the importance of transparency, collaboration, and innovation in scholarly communication.El Congreso Internacional de Revistas Universitarias (CIRU 2024) se realizó entre los días 8 y 10 de octubre de 2024 en el Campus Isla Teja de la Universidad Austral de Chile. El encuentro reunió a representantes de revistas científicas y universitarias de América Latina y el Caribe, propiciando un espacio de reflexión y diálogo respecto a los desafíos contemporáneos de la edición académica, la profesionalización de equipos editoriales y la consolidación de redes regionales de cooperación. Realizado en formato híbrido, el congreso abordó temas como ciencia abierta, ética editorial, acceso al conocimiento, evaluación de manuscritos, uso de tecnologías emergentes —incluyendo inteligencia artificial— y sostenibilidad de modelos editoriales. Asimismo, se organizaron plenarias, paneles y presentaciones de publicaciones, junto con espacios para el intercambio profesional, la articulación institucional y la proyección de futuras colaboraciones. CIRU 2024 consolidó un espacio de referencia para fortalecer el ecosistema editorial universitario latinoamericano, reafirmando el compromiso con la transparencia, la cooperación y la innovación en la comunicación académica

Full text linkThis paper, which is the result of research focused on sociocultural history, explores the emergence and reception of punk in Spain from the death of the dictator Franciso Franco until the end of the 1970s, that is, during the early years of the transition to democracy. For the benefit of the subject matter, we have artificially fragmented the chronology, avoiding the canons set by Spanish political history, and, in this way, giving priority to a cultural perspective. In this work we measure and analyze through the press (El País, ABC, Pueblo, Mundo Obrero, Hoja Oficial del Lunes) the impact that the first punk wave had on spanish society and we explain its reaction to a musical genre that soon became a mass phenomenon. Then, we reconstruct a part of the so-called “Rrollo” Spain, specifically, the countercultural scene lived in Madrid, attending to its impact on other geographical points and the struggle it had with inertias and traditions imposed and rooted during the Franco regime and, also, in force in the early years of the transition.Este artículo, que es fruto de una investigación centrada en la historia sociocultural, explora la irrupción y recepción del punk en España desde la muerte del dictador Francisco Franco hasta el final de la década de 1970; es decir, durante los primeros años de la transición a la democracia. En beneficio del tema tratado, hemos fragmentado artificialmente la cronología, huyendo de los cánones marcados por la historia política española, y, de ese modo, prima una óptica cultural. En este trabajo medimos y analizamos a través de la prensa (El País, ABC, Pueblo, Mundo Obrero, Hoja Oficial del Lunes) el impacto que tuvo la primera oleada punk sobre la sociedad española y explicamos cuál fue su reacción ante un género musical que, pronto, se convirtió en un fenómeno de masas. Reconstruimos, pues, una parte de la denominada España del “Rrollo”, concretamente, la escena contracultural vivida en Madrid, atendiendo a su impacto sobre otros puntos geográficos y a la pugna que esta tuvo con inercias, tradiciones y costumbres impuestas y arraigadas durante el régimen franquista y, asimismo, vigentes en los primeros años de la transición
Impacto del uso del suelo sobre el contenido hídrico de Entisoles de Corrientes Argentina
Full text linkThe increase in hectares of forested land in the province of Corrientes on soils with a water table close to the surface may have an impact on water dynamics. The objective was to evaluate the dynamics of soil water after the replacement of natural grasslands. The treatments analyzed were: Medium-term forest plantation (PMP) and grassland (TPN). The study area was Concepción-Corrientes- Argentina, we placed portable automatic weather stations, which include a humidity sensor with measurements every 0.10 m up to the depth of 1.20 m. The data obtained from both stations were statistically analyzed for soil moisture with the LSD test. We worked with three repetitions of each treatment; at the beginning of the study, to determine the depth of the water table and corroborate the characteristics of the soil under study. The months evaluated were nine, considering wet and dry season according to the zonal characteristics. The volumetric moisture content was consistently and significantly higher in the control than in the medium-term plantation for each of the depths evaluated, except for the months of January 2018 (-25 to -30 cm) and March 2018 at the depth of -65 cm, where no statistically significant differences were found, which was corroborated by the freatmeter data for the month of March (2018), where the smallest difference in height of the water layer (-18.4 cm) was obtained. It was found that PMP decrease the volumetric content of soil water and, consequently, depress the level of the water table with respect to that of the grassland.El incremento de las hectáreas de forestaciones en la provincia de Corrientes en suelos con capa freática cercana a la superficie posiblemente genera impactos en la dinámica hídrica. El objetivo fue evaluar la dinámica del agua del suelo tras el reemplazo de los pastizales naturales por plantaciones forestales. Tratamientos analizados: Plantación forestal de mediano plazo (PMP) y pastizal (TPN). La zona de estudio fue Concepción-Corrientes-Argentina, se colocaron estaciones meteorológicas automáticas portátiles, que incluyen un sensor de humedad con mediciones cada 0,10 m hasta la profundidad de -1,20 m. Los datos obtenidos de ambas estaciones fueron analizados estadísticamente para la humedad del suelo con el test de LSD. Se trabajó con tres repeticiones de cada tratamiento; al inicio del estudio para determinar la profundidad de la capa freática y corroborar las características del suelo. Los meses evaluados fueron nueve, considerando estación húmeda y seca según las características zonales. El contenido hídrico fue constante y significativamente mayor en el testigo que en PMP para cada una de las profundidades evaluadas, excepto para los meses de enero 2018 (-25 a -30 cm) y marzo 2018 a la profundidad de -65 cm, donde no se encontraron diferencias estadísticas significativas, lo cual fue corroborado mediante los datos de los freatímetros para el mes de marzo (2018), donde se obtuvo la menor diferencia en profundidad de la capa de agua (-18,4 cm).Se halló que PMP disminuyen el contenido hídrico edáfico y, en consecuencia, deprimen el nivel de la capa freática respecto a la del pastizal
Variaciones ideológicas del discurso indigenista en la poesía de Winétt de Rokha, Olga Acevedo y Gabriela Mistral
Full text linkThis article analyzes different poems by Winétt de Rokha, Olga Acevedo and Gabriela Mistral, in attention to the ideologemes they use to represent the Mapuche people and the colonial violence executed by the Chilean State. From a sociocritic perspective, it is proposed that these authors create three types of indigenist discourse, according to the ideological systems with which they sympathize: revolutionary in de Rokha, mestizo-socialist in Acevedo and social-Christian in Mistral.Este artículo analiza distintos textos poéticos de Winétt de Rokha, Olga Acevedo y Gabriela Mistral, en atención a los ideologemas que utilizan para representar al pueblo mapuche y la violencia colonial ejercida por el Estado chileno. Desde una perspectiva sociocrítica, se propone que estas autoras producen tres variantes de discurso indigenista, según los sistemas ideológicos con que cada una simpatiza: revolucionario en de Rokha, mestizo-socialista en Acevedo y socialcristiano en Mistral
El Constructo Elección de Universidad: Un Análisis Bibliométrico con Bibliometrix
Full text linkThis research analyzes the existing publications on the construct “University Choice” by students, using the Web of Science database during 1991-2023, with the search equation: “Choice” and “University” and Student”, resulting in 1078 documents analyzed with the Bibliometrix software. The publications are concentrated in the last 13 years, identifying a network of authors, mainly from the United Kingdom and the United States, who have made significant contributions in this field. The main journals publishing in this line are “Higher Education”, “Economics of Education Review” and “Studies in Higher Education”. Two main approaches have been identified: one focused on the decisional process and the other on academic achievement. It is expected that future research will deepen the understanding of the phenomenon using this systematic review and thus contribute to improve university policies by developing more effective and informed student orientation programs, both in Chile and internationally.Esta investigación analiza las publicaciones existentes sobre el constructo “Elección de Universidad” (EU) por parte de los estudiantes, usando la base de datos Web of Science durante 1991-2023, con ecuación de búsqueda: “Choice” and “University” and Student”, resultando 1078 documentos analizados con el software Bibliometrix. Las publicaciones se concentran en los últimos 13 años identificando una red de autores, principalmente del Reino Unido y Estados Unidos, que han realizado aportes significativos en este campo. Las principales revistas que publican en esta línea son “Higher Education”, “Economics of Education Review” y “Studies in Higher Education”. Se han identificado dos enfoques principales: uno centrado en el proceso decisional y otro en el logro académico. Se espera que futuras investigaciones profundicen en la comprensión del fenómeno utilizando esta revisión sistemática y contribuyan así a mejorar las políticas universitarias desarrollamdo programas de orientación estudiantil más efectivos e informados, tanto en el ámbito chileno como internacional

Full text linkCurrently, it is crucial to approach teacher education through scientific evidence to enhance educational quality and the effectiveness of pedagogical practices. This review examined studies published between 2014 and 2023 in English and Spanish, sourced from the Scopus and Web of Science databases, revealing an increased use of evidencebased practices among teacher educators. However, the implementation of these practices varies significantly depending on institutional contexts, teachers’ beliefs, and the level of support provided. Challenges such as lack of time and resources were identified, along with facilitators like continuous feedback and the need to adapt evidence to specific contexts. The findings underscore the importance of integrating research competencies in teacher education and promoting critical reflective approaches that align with the diverse realities of the educational process.En la actualidad, es fundamental abordar la formación de profesores desde la evidencia científica para mejorar la calidad educativa y la efectividad de las prácticas pedagógicas. En esta revisión se revisaron estudios publicados entre 2014 y 2023 en inglés y español, obtenidos de las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science, revelando un incremento en el uso de prácticas basadas en evidencia entre los formadores de docentes. No obstante, su aplicación varía significativamente según el contexto institucional, las creencias de los docentes y el nivel de apoyo recibido. Se identificaron desafíos, como la falta de tiempo y recursos, junto con facilitadores, como la retroalimentación continua y la necesidad de adaptar la evidencia a cada contexto específico. Los hallazgos subrayan la relevancia de integrar competencias investigativas en la formación docente y de promover enfoques reflexivos críticos que se ajusten a las diversas realidades del proceso educativo
Simbolismo en la comunicación intersubjetiva de las paradas de autobús urbano en el ande
Full text linkThis ethnographic research explores the intersubjective symbolic communication used by Andean communities in their daily lives, specifically in the context of urban bus stops. A shared symbolic understanding is evident among those involved in the transportation system, enabling efficient and harmonious interaction. Objective: To identify and explain the forms of intersubjective symbolic communication used by Andean people at urban bus stops, taking into account both the human actors involved and the environmental elements that evoke or define these spaces in everyday life. Methodology: Techniques such as participant observation, informal interviews, and behavioral analysis within the transportation system were applied. In addition, symbolic expressions—such as gestures, signals, and signs associated with bus stops—were studied. Conclusion: A fluid symbolic communication is observed among those engaged in urban public transportation, without generating conflicts related to traffic safety. Elements such as body movements, hand signals, and natural references help coordinate actions like boarding, disembarking, fare collection, and payment, reflecting a deeply rooted cultural integration within the Andean context.Esta investigación etnográfica explora la comunicación simbólica intersubjetiva que emplean los pobladores andinos en su vida cotidiana, específicamente en el contexto de las paradas de autobuses urbanos. Se evidencia un entendimiento simbólico compartido entre quienes participan en el sistema de transporte, lo que permite una interacción eficiente y armónica. Objetivo: Identificar y explicar las formas de comunicación simbólica intersubjetiva utilizadas por los pobladores andinos en las paradas de buses urbanos, considerando tanto a los actores humanos involucrados como a los elementos del entorno que evocan o definen estos espacios en la vida diaria. Metodología: Se aplicaron técnicas como la observación participante, entrevistas informales y el análisis de comportamientos dentro del sistema de transporte. Además, se estudiaron expresiones simbólicas como gestos, señales y signos asociados a las paradas de autobús. Conclusión: Se observa una comunicación simbólica fluida entre quienes intervienen en el transporte público urbano, sin generar conflictos relacionados con la seguridad vial. Elementos como movimientos corporales, señales manuales y referencias naturales permiten coordinar acciones como el ascenso, descenso, cobro y pago, manifestando una integración cultural profundamente arraigada en el contexto andino
Desafíos y Complejidades del Aprendizaje-Servicio en Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte: Un estudio Cualitativo
Full text linkThis qualitative study, from a critical perspective, aims to explore how faculty members perceive, value, and experience Service-Learning in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. A focus group with 10 university professors and 10 individual interviews, totaling 1370 minutes, were conducted. Using the qualitative software Nvivo Release 15, 10 interconnected categories were identified, revealing challenges and complexities in implementing the methodology. Although Service-Learning has significant potential to promote social engagement and the holistic development of future educators, it faces substantial difficulties. University professors, with an average of 6 or more years applying the methodology in Spain and Chile, encounter obstacles in integrating it into an educational environment that is not always adapted, which is reflected in low student participation and the gap between pedagogical expectations and the educational reality of universities.Este estudio cualitativo, desde una perspectiva crítica, tiene como objetivo explorar cómo el profesorado percibe, valora y experimenta el Aprendizaje-Servicio en Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte. Se realizó un grupo focal con 10 docentes universitarios y 10 entrevistas individuales con una duración total de 1370 minutos. Utilizando el software cualitativo Nvivo Release 15, se identificaron 10 categorías interconectadas, revelando desafíos y complejidades en la implementación de la metodología. Aunque el Aprendizaje-Servicio tiene un gran potencial para promover el compromiso social y el desarrollo integral de los futuros docentes, enfrenta dificultades significativas. Los profesores universitarios, quienes tienen una media de 6 años o más aplicando la metodología en España y Chile, se enfrentan a obstáculos para integrarla en un entorno educativo que no siempre está adaptado, lo cual se refleja en la baja participación estudiantil y en la brecha entre las expectativas pedagógicas y la realidad educativa de las universidades
