E agora o que fazer? Relato sobre tentativas de suicidio na ótica de familiares
Full text linkPart of the master’s thesis research in Social Work at the State University of Ceará, this article aims to know the perception of family members of people with history of suicide attempt, assisted by a university hospital in the city of Fortaleza/ CE. This research is qualitative in nature with an exploratory objective of bibliographic and field findings. The sample was non-probabilistic by accessibility or convenience and participants of different family compositions were interviewed. Among the main results, it is noteworthy that few families know about the theme of suicide, nor how to act in periods of crisis and have little or no guidance or ability to face the situation. In view of this, the interviewees argue that the subject should be increasingly publicized by specialized public policy bodies to better tackle the problem. This research was submitted to ethical review with the following approval opinions 5.321.619 and 5.409.548.Parte de la investigación doctoral de maestría en Servicio Social en la Universidad Estatal de Ceará, este artículo tiene como objetivo conocer la percepción de los familiares de personas con historia de intento de suicidio, atendidas por un hospital universitario en la ciudad de Fortaleza/CE. Esta investigación es de naturaleza cualitativa con objetivo exploratorio de hallazgos bibliográficos y de campo. La muestra se dio de modo no probabilístico por accesibilidad o por conveniencia y fueron entrevistados participantes de composiciones familiares distintas. Entre los principales resultados, se destaca que las familias pocos conocen sobre la temática del suicidio, tampoco cómo actuar en períodos de crisis y tienen poca o ninguna orientación o habilidad para enfrentar la situación. Ante esto, los entrevistados sostienen que el asunto debe ser cada vez más publicado por los órganos de políticas públicas especializados para un mejor enfrentamiento del problema. A fraternidade como uma metáfora social
No full textThis paper examines the transition from monarchical power to a republican system, highlighting the complexity of fraternity as a social metaphor. The French Revolution is examined in relation to the creation of a power vacuum, where the abolition of the monarchy led to the replacement of the figure of the king with the body of the nation. This new power is described as impersonal, reflecting society's inability to recognise itself and establish a new order. In this context, brotherhood appears as a concept that transcends the real and refers to an imaginary sphere characterised by ties of descent and biological connections. Fraternity is thus presented not only as a political ideal, but also as a social phenomenon that seeks to consolidate the foundations of the Republic in a context of diversity and complexity.O artigo explora a transição do poder monárquico para um sistema republicano, destacando a complexidade da irmandade como uma metáfora social. A Revolução Francesa é abordada em relação à criação de um vácuo de poder, onde a abolição da monarquia resultou na substituição da figura do rei pelo corpo da nação. Este novo poder é descrito como impessoal, refletindo a incapacidade da sociedade de se reconhecer e se estabelecer em uma nova ordem. A fraternidade, nesse contexto, emerge como um conceito que transcende o real, remetendo a uma esfera imaginária caracterizada por laços de descendência e vínculos biológicos. Assim, a fraternidade é apresentada não apenas como um ideal político, mas também como um fenômeno social que busca solidificar as bases da República em um contexto de diversidade e complexidade
Mercado de trabalho, discriminação racial e Justiça do Trabalho no Estado do Rio de Janeiro: o racismo como tema residual?
Full text linkThis article describes and analyzes three of the four lawsuits related to racial discrimination in the workplace, filed by workers against four companies between 1995 and 2005, that were filed in court in the Regional Labor Court of the 1st Region (TRT01), located in the State of Rio de Janeiro. These cases eventually reached the highest instance of the Labor Court, the Superior Labor Court (TST). It is noted that there is a significant disparity between the high rate of racial discrimination in the national labor market and the low number of complaints made by workers regarding racism to the Labor Court, particularly in Rio de Janeiro. Given the limited scope of primary sources for the TRT01 cases, this article will not draw definitive conclusions or present a concrete outcome. Instead, it hypothesizes that the issue of racism against Black workers was treated in a marginal and/or secondary manner by members of the Labor Court during the aforementioned period. This approach has severely impacted these workers, not only in the State of Rio de Janeiro but across all the Federation Units. One of our conclusions is that the limitation of primary data does not preclude a serious reflection on racism within the Labor Court of Rio de Janeiro, particularly since addressing this issue is necessary to ensure it does not remain marginalized within the broader Labor Court system.Este artigo descreve e analisa três dos quatro processos sobre discriminação racial no ambiente de trabalho que foram ajuizados por trabalhadores/as contra quatro empresas, entre 1995 e 2005, no Tribunal Regional do Trabalho da 1ª Região-TRT01, localizado no Estado do Rio de janeiro, mas que chegaram à última instância da Justiça Trabalhista, o Tribunal Superior do Trabalho (TST). Constata-se que há disparidade entre um considerável índice de discriminação racial no mercado de trabalho nacional e a baixa quantidade de denúncias pelos/as trabalhadores/as do crime de racismo junto à Justiça do Trabalho, especialmente na do Rio de Janeiro. Como o escopo de fontes primárias é reduzido para o caso do TRT01, não concluiremos, isto é, descreveremos e analisaremos um resultado concreto, mas levantamos a hipótese de que o tema racismo contra os/as trabalhadores/as negros/as foi tratado de forma residual e/ou marginal pelos membros da Justiça do Trabalho, no período supracitado, o que tem prejudicado sobremaneira esses/as trabalhadores/as não somente no Estado do Rio de Janeiro, mas em todas as Unidades da Federação. Pensamos que essa a limitação de dados primários não inviabiliza a necessidade de uma reflexão séria sobre o tema racismo na Justiça Trabalhista do Rio Janeiro, até porque ela precisa ser feita, inclusive para que este assunto não continue marginal na Justiça do Trabalho como um todo

Full text linkThis article is the result of research that aimed to understand what expectations regarding the future motivate young people enrolled in the 3rd year of high school at Escola Estadual Lourenço Andrade and who occupy the physical space of Escola Municipal Dr. Manoel Patti, located in the community of Mumbuca, in the rural area of Passos-MG, in 2022. The work was theoretically based on studies related to rural youth and future projects. Methodologically, it was a qualitative research, with a case study supported by bibliographic and documentary research. The fieldwork took place in two stages, with group workshops and individual interviews based on a semi-structured script. We sought to find out what young people participating in the research think about their futures after completing high school: staying in rural areas or moving to urban areas.Esse artigo é fruto de uma pesquisa que objetivou compreender quais expectativas em relação ao futuro movem os jovens matriculados no 3º ano do Ensino Médio da Escola Estadual Lourenço Andrade e que ocupam o espaço físico da Escola Municipal Dr. Manoel Patti, localizada na comunidade da Mumbuca, na zona rural de Passos-MG, em 2022. O trabalho teve como base teórica os estudos relacionados às juventudes rurais e projetos de futuro. Metodologicamente, tratou-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, com um estudo de caso amparado por levantamento bibliográfico e documental. O trabalho de campo aconteceu em duas etapas, com a realização de oficinas em grupo e entrevistas individuais baseadas em um roteiro semiestruturado. Buscou-se conhecer o que os jovens participantes da pesquisa pensam para os seus futuros após a conclusão do Ensino Médio: a permanência na zona rural ou a mudança para a zona urbana
Ageismo, uma realidade a mudar
Full text linkAgeism, in our case, Old Ageism, is related to the way we understand old age and aging, with our intergenerational relationships and how we perpetuate stereotypes and preconceived ideas about older people, thus limiting the understanding of the diversity and heterogeneity of old age.
In the fight against ageism, we find it necessary to educate/raise awareness among the general population and also very important to work on these stereotypes and prejudices with the professionals who care for and accompany people since we consider that professionals can be an important lever of change. .El Edadismo, en nuestro caso, Viejismo, está relacionado con la forma que tenemos de entender la vejez y el envejecimiento, con nuestras relaciones intergeneracionales y en cómo perpetuamos estereotipos e ideas preconcebidas sobre las personas mayores, limitando, de este modo, la comprensión de la diversidad y la heterogeneidad de la vejez.
En la lucha contra el edadismo nos parece necesario educar/sensibilizar a la población general y también muy importante trabajar estos estereotipos y prejuicios con los profesionales que atienden y acompañan a las personas ya que consideramos que pueden ser, los profesionales, una palanca importante del cambio.El Edadismo, en nuestro caso, Viejismo, está relacionado con la forma que tenemos de entender la vejez y el envejecimiento, con nuestras relaciones intergeneracionales y en cómo perpetuamos estereotipos e ideas preconcebidas sobre las personas mayores, limitando, de este modo, la comprensión de la diversidad y la heterogeneidad de la vejez.

Genotype by environment interaction and clonal recommendation of eucalypts under varying altitudes
No full textThe genotype × environment (G × E) interaction is a prevalent phenomenon that can challenge breeding and cultivar recommendation but offers opportunities for gains when the best genotypes are identified and recommended for each site. In this study, conducted in eastern Minas Gerais, Brazil, 46 eucalypt hybrid clones had their wood volume evaluated at contrasting altitudes. The experiments were planted at four different locations, two at high altitudes (>1000 m asl) and two at low altitudes (<350 m asl), with a complete randomized block design. The high-altitude regions showed superior productivity and a prevalent manifestation of simple G × E interactions, allowing their grouping in a mega environment. Conversely, within the low-altitude environments, we observed a moderate level of G × E interaction, with complex interactions prevailing. Overall, our results highlight that altitude is a major driver of G×E interaction, affecting the selection and recommendation of eucalypt clones. 
Karyotype and fluorescent banding in the interspecific F1 hybrid Passiflora ‘Lamepiana’, confirmed by GISH
No full textPassiflora ‘Lamepiana’ is the F1 hybrid from the cross between P. vitifolia and P. hatschbachii with ornamental characteristics. Based on cytogenetics techniques, this study aimed to confirm interspecific hybridization and characterize the karyotype of the hybrids and their parents using cytogenetic techniques. For all genotypes the predominance of metacentric chromosomes with two satellite pairs and a diploids karyotypes (2n = 18) were observed. It was possible to determine the occurrence of two satellite pairs in both the parents of the hybrids. The use of simultaneous probes of the F1 parents prepared according to GISH technique allowed to identify two chromosome lots each one inherited from both parents, confirming the hybrid character of the plants. Besides confirming hybridization, GISH did not demonstrate the existence of visible chromosomal alterations but rather cytogenetic stability in the hybrids
Genetic variability, heritability, and trait associations in gladiolus (Gladiolus grandiflorus L.) genotypes
No full textThis study evaluated genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance and trait associations among gladiolus genotypes at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, India, from 2022 to 2024. The study implemented a randomized block design with three replications. ANOVA revealed highly significant differences among genotypes, with genotypic effects most contributing to the total variance. Phenotypic variation exceeded genotypic variation, although environmental influence was minimal. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance was observed for cormel weight per hill (94.56%, 206.55%), cormel number per hill (91.73%, 189.62%), plant height (87.39%, 41.23%), spike length, and rachis length, indicating additive gene action and scope for direct selection. Correlation and PCA analyses confirmed strong associations among key traits and clear genotype differentiation, with G. callianthus being distinct. Promising genotypes included Rose Supreme, Chirag, Snow Princess and Dhanvantri. These findings provide a foundation for targeted breeding to develop improved cultivars with enhanced yield and floral quality and guide future research
