Application of principles and moral values of Islamic economics in Islamic Business

It is a behaviour that controls an individual’s business activities. For the Muslim business people, the demand for applying moral values, ethics, and Islamic economic ethics is a must to ensure halal business profits and be blessed by Allah. However, this demand seems to be eroding in the minds of Muslim business people. In addition, the development of current technologies in the business world that the traders can utilise for good or bad depends on their wisdom and ethical values. Therefore, this study will review the application of Islamic economics principles and moral values that every Muslim business person should practice. A qualitative via a systematic review of the relevant pieces of literature has been done during this study. The study found eight values and Islamic ethics that should be applied in Islamic business. This study’s finding is expected to guide Muslim business people to practice moral values, ethics, and good manners in economic activities, especially business activities

Biofuel development in Malaysia: challenges and future prospects of palm oil biofuel

rapid depletion of fossil fuels and growing worries about greenhouse gas emissions. Biofuels,
unlike other renewable energy sources, can supply liquid fuels, which are necessary for
transportation. In this review study, the main focus is the scenario of palm oil biofuel
development in Malaysia, which involves the future prospect and challenges faced by the
country to fully-utilize the potential of palm oil as a renewable energy. Even with the
primary driving policy, the National Biofuel Policy 2006, it is found that as of the year 2020,
Malaysia is still lacking in pace and technologies in inventing top-notch quality biofuel.
Although the number of articles published in the subject of biofuels is increasing, more study
is required to explain current technology and its benefits, especially in Malaysia, the world's
second-largest producer of oil palm
The impact of alkaline treatment on the mechanical and physical properties of Kenaf core fibre reinforced vinyl ester composites

natural fibre in various applications worldwide is one of the alternative ways to replace
synthetic fibre. Currently, polymer composites using natural fibre as reinforced materials
are trending in the aeronautic and automotive industries. Therefore, this research focuses
on the impact of surface modification on kenaf core fibre reinforced vinyl ester composites
towards mechanical and physical properties. From the obtained results, the modified fibre
has good strength and modulus, and also physical properties, such as water absorption and
density. The flexural strength of modified fibre improved to 55.47%, while the modulus
increased to 83.87% as compared to the unmodified fibre. For tensile strength, the modified
composites improved by 58.02%. The modified fibre shows improved water resistance, as
clarified by the water absorption analysis. The surface modification of kenaf core fibre using
alkaline treatment achieved good results compared to unmodified fibre in enhancing the
interlocking between fibre/matrix, reducing certain chemical content, and reducing the
hydrophilicity of the composites
Experimental assessment of flaxseed gel on mechanical and physical properties of mortar
Link to publisher's homepage at http://ijneam.unimap.edu.myBased on all previous researches on using natural biomaterials to develop physical and mechanical properties of mortar, the extracted gel from the flaxseed as bio-admixture is examined and tested as a sustainable chemical admixture in the production of cement mortar, as well as determining its influence on some mechanical and physical properties such as compression strength, flexural strength, workability and water absorption) of mortar. Flaxseed gel was added to mortar mixes with the percentage of 5%, 10% and 15% as a partial replacement by weight of mixing water. FTIR spectroscopy for flaxseed has been performed to identify organic/inorganic components. The effect of flaxseed gel in the mortar structure was evaluated, and the results showed a good enhancement in the properties of mortar caused by using variable percentages of gel replacement in the mixture in which, the compressive strength of cement mortar exhibited a significant increase to 56.3% by replacing 15% of mortar cement with flaxseed gel, while the higher increase in flexural strength reached 25.6% was achieved by replacing 5% of mortar cement with gel. There is a slight increase in the water absorption of mortar mixture containing 15% of flaxseed gel which reached 5.7% compared to 4.3 % achieved by the reference mixture
