Does agent banking services delivery channel increase customer perceptions? evidence from Bangladesh during COVID-19
Link to publisher's homepage at https://ijbt.unimap.edu.myThe study identifies the impact of agent banking on customer perceptions during COVID-19. Data have been collected from five banks in Bangladesh through a survey questionnaire. Data were collected from 240 users with an interview schedule. With regression analysis, the study finds that agent banking channels of different banks have significant and positive relation on customer perceptions which help the banks to increase revenue. Besides, relationship marketing strategies may convert unbanked people into customer loyalty. Moreover, factors are identified such as reliability and convenience of agent banking have crashed on customer perceptions. This may be of assistance to the policymakers, agents, banks, Bangladesh bank, academicians for further research and actions
Electrospinning of Polyacrylonitrile nanofibres and applications in membrane distillation technology: a review
Link to publisher's homepage at http://ijneam.unimap.edu.myWater scarcity is a major concern in some parts of the world today. In some countries,
seawater desalination through membrane distillation (MD) has been employed to overcome
the crisis. However, there are two primary challenges hindering the effectiveness of the MD
process, which are vapour flux declination and membrane wetting. Recently, electrospun
fibres have been proposed as an alternative technique to develop novel membrane modules
for the MD process. In this regard, polyacrylonitrile (PAN) in the form of electrospun fibres
is a popular choice due to its superior characteristics such as hydrophobic surface, small
fibre diameter, low thermal conductivity, and good mechanical strength. However, it is
dependent on the fabrication method, which has a significant impact on the characteristics
of the final products. Electrospinning is the most efficient technique for producing polymeric
electrospun fibres utilising electrical charges. Although electrospinning is frequently seen as
a simple process, it involves a number of complex processing parameters that must be
optimised in order to produce high-quality fibre membranes. In this review, a brief overview
is presented on the electrospinning of PAN electrospun fibres, as well as the range of
optimum processing parameters. This review also focuses on the properties of PAN
electrospun fibres and current fabrication methods for developing membrane modules for
the MD system
Effect of abrasive water jet turning AWJT parameter setting on surface finish of Inconel 718
Link to publisher's homepage at http://ijneam.unimap.edu.myThis research article aims at comparing the cutting performance of Inconel 718 during abrasive waterjet turning (AWJT). In this study, the various combination processing parameters were performed namely; depth of cut (DOC), traverse speed, and rotational speed. Three factors and two levels of full factorial involving 8 experimental runs were done during this study. This design of the experimental approach is to establish a correlation between controlled parameters input and experimental outputs. The response to be evaluated is surface roughness. The significance of AWJT parameters on this surface roughness was determined statistically using the analysis of variance method. The experimental results have revealed the surface quality of the cylindrical surface was extremely affected by the depth of cut followed by interaction between traverse speed and rotational speed. The optimum parameter set in minimizing surface finish is DOC 0.3 mm, traverse speed of 3 mm/min, and rotational speed of 90 RPM. This knowledge obtained from these results and optimization provides information for industrial applications
Aggregation threshold for Novel Au – LiNbO3 core/shell Nano composite: effect of laser ablation energy fluence
Link to publisher's homepage at http://ijneam.unimap.edu.myIn this paper, unique nanocomposites of Gold: Lithium Niobate (Au-LiNbO3) were synthesized for the first time utilizing pulse laser ablation in liquid method (PLAL). Q-switched neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd: YAG) laser was used to prepare suspension at different laser fluence in water environment for LN and Au targets, then deposited at n-Type silicon substrates. XRD analysis used to define the structure nature of these films. Photoluminescence measurements exhibited distinct emissions peaks that decreased as the laser fluence escalated. The surface morphology was examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), while image j software was used to determine surface nature and particles size of Au- LiNbO3 thin films. It is found aggregation threshold decrease as laser fluence increases with zeta potential ranging about -16 to -12 mV.
The impact of ICT usage towards learning process quality among lecturers on selected private universities in Medan, Indonesia
Master in Science in Communication and Information TechnologyThe application of ICT is providing a great achievement for teaching and learning process in the universities. A higher education with adequate ICT resources gained a substantial alteration in the learning process and improvement for the learners.
Nevertheless, Indonesia is the largest country in Southeast Asia is classified as the low use of ICT. A shortage of the ICT establishment is occurred in higher education in Indonesia, especially for the lecturers. Lecturers as the human resources management in universities should be able to produce services for the needs of higher education customers. Whereas ICT is potentially turning the substantial changes and benefits, thus the educators have to master ICT knowledge and the competencies. The small use of the technology is due to the occurrence of the digital divide which is caused by several factors, namely the inability to operating, caused by lack of skill or knowledge, and motivation. Therefore, the study is conducted to discover the relationship between the knowledge and motivation towards the use of ICT. Also, the study is arranged to identify the relationship between ICT usage and the learning process quality. The research employed the application of the quantitative research design and data collection through a survey questionnaire. A total of 260 respondents participated in this study. The statistical techniques which are the descriptive statistical analysis and regression analysis methods were employed to analyze the data. The result reveals that the motivation to use ICT and knowledge level of ICT have the contribution towards the
utilization of ICT with both significant values as much as 0.000. Then, the use of ICT also has a great impact towards learning process quality with significant value as 0.000. The outcome of the study gives the contribution in term of education. The results show how the role of ICT in the quality of a learning process and education through lectures. With the evidence of the significant relationship between the utilization of ICT towards learning process quality, hence the university should apply this technology in a circle
An enhanced markov random field (MRF) based approach for image segregation
Doctor of Philosophy in Computer EngineeringThe main objective of this thesis is to present an alternative technique to enhance
the depth segregation of a 2D monocular image using Markov Random Field (MRF).
Depth segregation considered challenging task due to an extensive segment of nonrigidity
and textural contrasts among objects. Object appearance in various shape and
location in the scene, depth segregation is likewise made difficult due to extra components,
occluded objects, which can be either visible or totally invisible from the scene,
variation in light distribution in image can give rise to a significant change in the aspect
of the objects in the image most likely to increase the difficulty of the process.
Here is what gives the rise to the problem of developing image segregation tools that
can deal with this variation in images, this tool required to be flexible and robust to
successfully segregate objects in to layers from a 2D monocular image. This thesis
shows that monocular depth segregation can be successfully used in edge region based
image segmentation. Depth image segregation enhanced technique has been proposed
to search for depth cues in the image regions, the image regions corresponding to a
specified level of depth cue in occluding and occluded objects such as T-junction and
L-junction can be identified and classified. The proposed technique initially executes
image segmentation; to identify region in the image, morphological operation; to eliminate
any error pixel in the region, then edge detection; to identify the boundaries of the
regions, and use these information to perform depth segregation processes to identify
and label the objects in depth labeled order. The experimental result shows that the
technique has successfully segregate the regions in depth order from a 2D monocular
image. The segmented image has been combined with the edge detection image to
perform the depth segregation process and the result was efficient in terms of object labeling
order
