V srpnu 2019 byly v Rozdrojovicích u severozápadního okraje Brna nalezeny zplanělé rostliny ořechokřídlece klandonského (Caryopteris ×clandonensis), a to v ruderálním trávníku mezi chodníkem a sousední zahradou s mateřským porostem ořechokřídlece. Je to první nález zplanělých rosltin tohoto okrasného křížence v České republice. Here we report the first record of Caryopteris ×clandonensis (Lamiaceae) outside cultivation in the Czech Republic. In September 2019, about 10 plants, some of them flowering, were found at the southern periphery of the village of Rozdrojovice at the north-western outskirts of the city of Brno (south-eastern Czech Republic). A herbarium specimen is stored in the Herbarium of Masaryk University in Brno. In Rozdrojovice, the plants were scattered in ruderal grassland between a pavement and fences of the adjacent gardens. The source of the escaped specimens was a large stand of Caryopteris in the ornamental garden of one of the neighbouring family houses. Seedlings of C. ×clandonensis were observed already earlier at two sites in Brno next to the specimens cultivated for ornament. Therefore, this species has to be considered a casual neophyte of the Czech flora. In Europe, escaped specimens of C. ×clandonensis were recorded already in the British Isles, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Italy. Further records of this species in the Czech Republic are quite likely because it has been frequently planted both in private gardens and public spaces, but its spread will probably remain limited due to its low competitive ability and assumed frost-sensitivity in very cold winters

Jmenovací pravomoci prezidenta k ústavním orgánům hospodářské moci

Ústavní činitelé mohou svým rozhodováním ovlivňovat více nebo méně ekonomickou politiku celé země. Míra jejich vlivu souvisí s jejich jmenovacími pravomocemi. V našem případě se text zabývá pravomocemi prezidenta republiky jmenovat vedení významných ekonomických institucí – České národní banky a Nejvyššího kontrolního úřadu. Tyto pravomoci se staly předmětem právního a politického sporu mezi prezidentem Václavem Havlem a tehdejšími představiteli vlády a Poslanecké sněmovny. Výsledek sporu významně posílil pozici prezidenta republiky v oblasti ekonomické politiky.Constitutional officials can influence the economic policy of the whole country more or less by their decisions. The degree of their influence is related to their appointment powers. In our case, the text deals with the powers of the President of the Republic to appoint the management of major economic institutions - the Czech National Bank and the Supreme Audit Office. These powers were the subject of a legal and political dispute between President Václav Havel and the representatives of the government and the Chamber of Deputies. The outcome of the dispute significantly strengthened the position of the President of the Republic in the field of economic policy

Dotazník designu pracovní pozice (WDQ) : Validační studie českého překladu

    Get PDF
Cíle. Cílem studie bylo posoudit psychometrické charakteristiky nové české adaptace dotazníku designu pracovní pozice (Work Design Questionnaire, WDQ) měřícího 21 pracovních charakteristik. Vzorek a metoda. Celkem 461 respondentů pracujících v českých organizacích vyplnilo českou verzi WDQ. Kvůli posouzení konvergentní validity vyplnili také 4 další dotazníky. Výsledky. Konfirmační faktorová analýza WDQ ukázala podobnou shodu 21-faktorového modelu s daty (RMSEA = 0.046; CFI = 0,89; TLI = 0,88) jako v případě původního dotazníku v angličtině. Standardizované faktorové náboje jednotlivých položek byly vysoké (lambda = 0,60 až 0,90), pouze položka WDQ25 nebyla sycena faktorem složitost práce (lambda = .21) v souladu s teoretickým modelem. Tuto položku autoři doporučují nezahrnovat do škály složitost práce, protože má v české i anglické verzi dva možné významy a nemusí být respondenty chápána v souladu s obsahem subškály. Všechny subškály WDQ prokázaly vnitřní konzistenci (omega = 0,75 až 0,96) s výjimkou subškály sociální opory (omega = 0,64). Konvergentní validitu subškál dotazníku podporují vztahy s pracovními spokojeností, závazkem k organizaci, vnitřní motivací a vnímaným vlastním výkonem. Projevila se také kriteriální validita subškály spolupráce mimo organizaci, jejíž skór se lišil u respondentů pracujících ve službách a prodeji a respondenty na ostatních pracovních pozicích. Limity. Ve vzorku převažují vzdělanější respondenti a respondenti vykonávající duševní práci. Data o pracovních charakteristikách i závislých proměnných pochází ze stejného zdroje, ze sebehodnocení respondentů.Objectives. The aim of this study was to assess the psychometric characteristics of a Czech adaptation of the Work Design Questionnaire (WDQ) that measures 21 work characteristics. Sample and setting. A sample of 461 people working in Czech organizations completed a Czech adaptation of WDQ. In order to assess the convergent validity of WDQ, the respondents also completed 4 other questionnaires. Results. Confirmatory factor analyses showed a similar fit of the 21-factor model (RMSEA = 0.046; CFI = 0,89; TLI = 0,88) to the original English WDQ. The standardized factor loadings were high (lambda = 0,60 to 0,90), only the item WDQ25 did not load on the job complexity factor (lambda = .21) as it should have according to the theoretical model. The authors do not recommend including this item in the job complexity subscale because it has two possible meanings in both the Czech and English versions, and the respondents may not understand it in accordance with the content of the subscale. All the subscales of WDQ showed high internal consistency (omega = 0,75 to 0,96) except the social support subscale (omega = 0,64). The convergent validity of the subscales is supported by the correlations of their scores with job satisfaction, organizational commitment, intrinsic motivation and perceived own work performance. The analyses also showed the criterion validity of the subscale interaction outside an organization, as the respondents in sales and services scored higher than the respondents who worked in different positions. Limitations. Respondents with a university degree and respondents doing knowledge work prevailed in the sample. The data about work characteristics and other variables came from the same source – the self-report questionnaires

Frames in Outdoor Environmental Education Programs : What We Communicate and Why We Think It Matters

    Get PDF
This paper discusses the application of frame analysis as a method of designing and evaluating outdoor environmental education programs. In particular, it investigates what frames are communicated in these programs, why and how program leaders focus on communicating particular frames, and how students interact with these frames. Five outdoor environmental education programs for elementary school students were analyzed. We used a qualitative approach that combined field observation, interviews with program leaders (N = 15), qualitative findings based on questionnaires collected from the participants after completing the programs (N = 365), and interviews with some of the students (N = 10). According to the results, while the leaders intensively applied various surface frames to attract student interest and organize the program activities, the deep frames aimed for in the main program messages connected with the program goals often remained implicit and were not recognized by the students

N-Glycan profiling of lung adenocarcinoma in patients at different stages of disease

    Get PDF
Lung adenocarcinoma (LAC) is the most common form of lung cancer that increases in non-smokers at younger age. Altered protein glycosylation is one of the hallmarks of malignancy, its role in cancer progression is still poorly understood. In this study, we report mass spectrometric (MS) analysis of N-glycans released from fresh or defrosted tissue specimens from 24 patients with LAC. Comparison of cancerous versus adjacent healthy tissues revealed substantial differences in N-glycan profiles associated with disease. The significant increase in paucimannose and high-mannose glycans with 6-9 mannose residues and decline in the sialylated complex biantenary core fucosylated glycan with composition NeuAcGal(2)GlcNAc(2)Man(3)GlcNAc(2)Fuc were general features of tumors. In addition, 42 new N-glycan compositions were detected in cancerous tissues. The prominent changes in advanced disease stages were mostly observed in core fucosylated N-glycans with additional fucose (Fuc) residue/s and enhanced branching with non-galactosylated N-acetyl-glucosamine (GlcNAc) units. Both of these monosaccharide types were linked preferably on the 6-antenna. Importantly, as compared with noncancerous tissues, a number of these significant changes were clearly detectable early on in stage I. Application of N-glycan data obtained from tissues was next assessed and validated for evaluation of small sized biopsies obtained via bronchoscopy. In summary, observed alterations and data of newly detected N-glycans expand knowledge about the glycosylation in LAC and may contribute to research in more tailored therapies. Moreover, the results demonstrate effectiveness of the presented approach for utility in rapid discrimination of cancerous from healthy lung tissues

The effects of pre- and post-partum depression on child behavior and psychological development from birth to pre-school age : a protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis

    Get PDF
Background: Pre- and post-partum depression is a common mood disorder with detrimental effects on both mother and child. The aim of the proposed review is to summarize evidence related to the effects of both pre- and post-partum depression on child behavior and development from birth to preschool age. In particular, our review will address mutual relations between pre- and post-partum depression in order to determine whether pre- and post-partum depression predict child psychological outcomes independently, whether there is an effect of timing of depression on child outcomes, whether pre- and post-partum depression interact to affect child outcomes, and whether the effect of pre-partum depression is mediated by depression after child's birth. Methods: We will include prospective longitudinal studies that report data about the effects of both pre- and post-partum depression on child psychological outcomes as published in peer-reviewed academic journals since January 1998. We will search EMBASE, MEDLINE, PsycARTICLES, PsycINFO, ISI Web of Science, Scopus, and Wiley Online databases to identify original research articles written in English. Two independent reviewers will screen search results in two stages: (i) titles and abstracts and (ii) full text. The first one will extract data into tables, while the latter will verify whether the data extracted are correct. We will assess the risk of bias in the selected studies using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP), Cohort Study Checklist. The results of the review will be reported in a narrative form. If there are sufficient data available, a meta-analysis will be conducted using metaSEM package in R. Discussion: The proposed review will be the first systematic review summarizing the effects of both pre- and post-partum depression on child psychological development and behavior from birth to preschool age. The results of such a review may contribute to a better understanding of mutual relations between pre- and post-partum depression in their effects on child outcomes. They may also shed light on what periods in early human development are most vulnerable to the effects of maternal depression

Theatre graphics and graphic theatre : Zich's semantics in posters and publicity

    Get PDF
The essay employs the concept of the 'semantic image' as articulated by Czech aesthetician Otakar Zich in his book The Aesthetics of Dramatic Art in order to outline how theatre publicity relates to theatre production and performance. Theatre graphics, posters, and other promotional materials contain images that substitute or compensate for what is not to be seen and heard onstage in form of 'technical images'; thus, these graphics condition the 'representational images' of dramatic locations.1 Publicity images can be also used to manipulate imagery associations related to actors as well as dramatic characters in order to facilitate their desired reception. This article focuses on the posters produced for Prague's National Theatre opera production of Tramvestie (2019) and two stagings of Peter Shaffer's Equus (1973, 2007) along with Alphonse Mucha's posters for Sarah Bernhardt
