EL APRENDIZAJE A TRAVÉS DEL MOVIMIENTO EN LA ENSEÑANZA DEL ALEMÁN COMO LENGUA EXTRANJERA EN LA EDUCACIÓN SECUNDARIA OBLIGATORIA. UN ESTUDIO DE UN CASO PRÁCTICO
Learning through movement is a teaching method in which physical movement is considered a central teaching and learning tool. It is intended to support the learning process and lead to better information processing and retention in learners of all ages. Despite this, however, physical activity is primarily used at the preschool and primary levels. At the secondary level, where concentrated learning and grades are usually the primary focus, movement activities often lose importance. This article presents findings from a school-based case study aimed at investigating whether the use of learning through movement can lead to measurable performance gains in adolescents.
The formulations of temporal relationships in Bulgarian and Spanish can in principle coincide and for this reason the corresponding verb forms can ara comparable. But the Bulgarian system, unlike the Spanish one, is based on the witnessed / non-witnessed opposition within the indicative mood, wich is evidential: past forms are witnessed and non-past forms are neutral.
Perfect, due to its witness neutrality, has been the basis for the historical development of a series of evidential forms (conclusive mood, narrative forms, doubtful forms) wich Spanish lacks. Therefore, at this level both systems are not comparable.
Renditions of the “Bogeywoman” Myth in Picturebooks Gloria Anzaldúa and Julia Alvarez
Traditionally, the Mexican myth of La Llorona and the Dominican ciguapa legend correspond to misogynist stereotypes; at the same time, there are versions of the folktales rooted in Azteca and Taíno cultures, combined with the influence and consequences of colonialism. In essence, La Llorona stands for a bad mother who drowned her children out of jealousy, and ciguapas, usually portrayed as beautiful creatures with backward-facing feet, embody the femme fatale as they entice and kill men. Moreover, both figures work as cautionary tales as they are often employed as bogeyman figures to scare children into obeying adults. Gloria Anzaldúa and Julia Alvarez challenge the patriarchal, colonialist and adultist versions, rewriting the myths through picturebooks that encourage agency, change, healing and love. In Anzaldúa’s Prietita and the Ghost Woman, settled at the US-Mexico border, La Llorona, instead of hurting children, guides the girl to find a plant to heal her mother’s illness, while in Alvarez’s The Secret Footprints, the ciguapas’ tribe do not prey on humans but hide in caves underwater; when the young protagonist Guapa goes to the surface, she befriends a human boy, instead of hurting him. I argue that both narratives construct a new rendition of the bogeywoman myth through the transformation of these figures into kind spirits thanks to an intersectional feminist, decolonial and child-centered approach.

The few records of women comic artists in the last decades of the twentieth century has motivated efforts in the field of gender and feminist studies. Such efforts are evidenced by scarce articles, dissertations and theses, and initiatives by women’s collectives that seek, through articulations, events and publications, to disseminate not only what is produced today by women comic artists, but also to do justice to the memory of past and present artists. Our goal is to accomplish an overview of these collectives, initiatives and networks that are engaged through websites, blogs, online social networks and offline actions in the task of carrying out an important work of curatorship, dissemination and collective organization in Brazil. From 2010, we hightlight the initiatives of Lady’s Comics and Mina de HQ, in addition to more recent collectives that emerged in the northern region such as Mulheres Artistas do Pará - MARPARA and Serendi, which bring together artists from Pará, and MáTinta, which is composed of women comic artists from Amazonas.

The Boondocks: Archetypes of Black Masculinity in a White World
With American society being dominated and shaped by white men, black masculinity takes on new shapes and forms as black men seek survival within their surroundings. Through The Boondocks, a comic strip that has been syndicated into a TV show, five different archetypes of black masculinity take the spotlight through the main characters in a satirical world virtually void of black women in emphasis of the dynamics of black men. Huey is a revoluntionary, Riley is a Hip-Hop culturist, Grandad is a conformist, Tom is a traitor, and Uncle Ruckus is self-hating. No two methods to survival in white suburbia are the same, but what is shared is the collective need for the survival of the black community, in that the characters never stop looking out for each other regardless of the stark differences in how they express their black masculinity.
EL CONCEPTO DE SABIDURÍA EN LAS TRADUCCIONES ESLAVAS DE LAS SENTENCIAS ATRIBUIDAS A MENANDRO
In previous studies, the Old Slavic translations of the aphorisms attributed to Menander, an Attic playwright of the fourth century B.C.E., have been used primarily as evidence for reconstructing lost or incompletely transmitted verses; in other words, the texts have been treated as if they were subsidiary to putative Greek sources. This approach is problematic, inter alia, because the Slavic verses are not always translations of an authentic Menander. Often, they are demonstrably free adaptations or even Christianizations of post-Attic Greek sources (filtered through Byzantine compilations); in many other cases, where no plausible Greek text is known, the sayings may have been reminiscences of non-Menandrean sources or even non-Greek in origin. In this article, I study the Slavic proverbs attributed to Menander as evidence for medieval Slavic translational praxis and textual transmission processes. Particularly, I investigate selected key-words in the proverbs as documentation of the medieval Orthodox Slavic—in particular, monastic—worldview, as normative texts that were copied in order to instruct the readers how to live.
The present article is an state of the art about Constantine Palaiokappa, a Cretan scribe who co-worked with Angelos Vergekios and Jacob Diassorinos in describing and rearranging the Greek manuscripts of the French Royal Library in Fontainebleau in the middle of the sixteenth century. It gathers the information from the colophons of the manuscripts copied by Palaiokappa as well as from documents and contemporary texts, and its aim is tospecify Palaiokappa’s activity in Venice, Padua and Paris. Besides, the paper provides with a brief description of Palaiokappa’s handwriting and describes his activity as a scribe of Greek manuscripts. Finally, it analyzes the texts he outstandingly forged and whose authorship heassigned to invented authors or to real ancient authors only known by name.
A Consul of the Philosophers on what is Given and what is not in the Cosmos
