Entrepreneurial intention development: The contribution of specialized entrepreneurship academic programs
Entrepreneurship Education (EE) programming is being developed at tertiary-level academic institutions, to develop the next generation of entrepreneurs. We collected data from undergraduate students from the Western region of Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico (N=25). The aim was to measure entrepreneurial intention by exposing the sample to a new educational structure that engages students in entrepreneurial activities. The Entrepreneurship program is highly specialized with a maximum of 25 students. This allows for students to receive individualized Monterrey is number 4 in The Princeton Review’s Top Undergraduate Schools for Entrepreneurship Ranking 2023. The school uses process-based approaches to EE. Guided by the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), we assessed changes in the students’ attitudes toward entrepreneurship, perceived behavioral control, and intentions to become an entrepreneur. Using a seven-point Likert scale, the data was collected using anonymous online links at two points during the semester: the beginning of the semester (T1) and the end of the 1st Period (T2). The data was analyzed with SPSS software and the Friedman Calculator. Our research findings indicate a high score at T1. There was a slight change at T2, but the change was not statistically significant. Consequently, we introduce and review other approaches to Entrepreneurship Education that might be more effective. Noteworthy is that the sample is immersed in an entrepreneurial university context, both within and outside the academic setting, which fosters a strong motivation among students to contribute societal value through entrepreneurial endeavors.

Cooperatives driven by the Cooperative Identity have a scope of action that goes beyond their economic purposes. This article aims to understand how the Cooperative Identity has been discussed between the years 2019 to 2023. A systematic literature review was conducted using the Methodi Ordinatio approach on databases, and the content was analyzed using Mendeley®, VOSviewer®, and NVivo® software. The results indicate a prevalence of discussions on the 5th principle (Education, Training, and Information) and little discussion on the other six principles. Among the principles not discussed are those that impact management and, in turn, can strengthen the Cooperative Identity. In general, cooperatives are mainly treated as mere subjects of study.

Associated Labor Cooperative Societies enjoy great autonomy with regard to their internal operating rules, since they are self-managed by their members, and not through labor ties. In these entities, it is necessary to ensure the appropriate use of the Principle of Self-Regulation by the working members, as well as that they carry out their work in an adequate and effective manner in accordance with the corporate purpose of the entity. At the same time, we must emphasize the primacy of this type of Cooperative Societies with respect to the rest of the classes, both in the economic and social aspects, as the reader will be able to appreciate in the article in its introductory section. A legal study will also be carried out on the corporate and non-labor relationship of the working members of the Cooperative Societies of associated work, as well as on the limitations of hiring employed workers in the cooperatives of associated work. And finally, some brief conclusions will be developed from what is prescribed in this article.

Vitoria’s 1537 lecture On the American Indians asserts moral equality and fundamental rights for all humans but is contradicted by the significant inequalities between Spanish conquistadores and indigenous peoples of Mexico and Peru. Despite recognizing these rights, Vitoria’s vision supports an unequal Euro-American relationship regarding territorial sovereignty, self-defense, self-determination, and religious freedom. His insights have implications for contemporary international law concerning indigenous rights. However, his theological framework limits this potential. To better address indigenous issues today, I advocate reframing Vitoria’s perspective by replacing his natural law-based human-rights essentialism with a naturalistic approach that views human rights as social constructs. This shift can help develop international law to prevent violent interactions and promote equality between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples, reducing reliance on nation states to safeguard indigenous rights.

It is evident the interest of the European Union to encourage Entrepreneurship Education in universities, as well as public entities such as the Spanish government through the universities normative. The objective of this research is to analyze the presence of Entrepreneurship Education in the ranking methodology to measure Higher Education Institutions (Universities and Business Schools). Therefore, the research question formulated is: How do the indicators used by the world rankings measure the performance of universities in Entrepreneurship Education? Using data from the International Ranking Expert Group Observatory, the categories of Global University Ranking and Ranking of Business Schools are selected, representing a total of 30 rankings as a sample of the study. Our findings concluded that the European Commission and the Spanish government work on creating a public framework to encourage entrepreneurship education but the international rankings sample does not select entrepreneurship as a criterion to measure the university and business school performance.
