Thus, the way to retrieve solutions for optimization, highly depend on the theory, mathematical methods, but first, on imagination and information about the problem. The main goal of this paper is focuses on optimizing each movement, space and extra costs in warehouse through simply concepts of solving the problems
THE EFFECT OF QUERCETIN ON DIABETES COMPLICATIONS
Diabetes is a serious metabolic disorder with a numerous complications and one of the five leading causes of death worldwide. Diabetes, so called "soft killer" is characterized by persistent hyperglycemia associated with carbohydrate, protein, and lipid metabolism abnormalities. However, the currently available diabetic drugs have numerous limitations because of their side effects including hypoglycemia, cell death, and high rates of secondary alterations. Recently, emphasis has been placed on complementary and alternative treatments for diabetes focused on functional food and its bioactive compounds. One of them is quercetin, a powerful antioxidant flavonoid, which posseses various biochemical and physiological effects (anti-diabetic, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory). The aim of this study is a literature review focused on the impact of quercetin on diabetic complications. In vivo and in vitro studies suggest that quercetin is a promising bioactive compound for treatment of this disease, but its efficacy should be confirmed by clinical trials
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS IN IMPLEMENTING A KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT PROJECT IN A MICRO SOFTWARE COMPANY
Software companies are recognized as knowledge-based organizations because their employees solve creative and innovative tasks by using recent technologies. The main challenge for these companies is how to manage knowledge as the main asset in their business. This becomes even more important for micro software companies due to their recognized constraints in budget, human resources, workspace and working resources, and timelines. Critical success factors, as an indicator of management planning to achieve effective business performance, have been widely used to analyze projects\u27 performances in software engineering. This paper presents an analysis of the critical success factors identified in implementing a knowledge identification and systematization project in a local micro software company in Serbia. After presenting a lightweight inductive method for knowledge identification and systematization that was implemented in a selected micro company, critical success factors were determined and discussed. Based on the discussion of critical success factors, lessons for further knowledge management projects are drawn. In addition, benefits for the selected company, as well as implications for the software industry and academic researchers are discussed
CONSTITUTIONAL JUDICIARY AND JUDICIAL REVIEW IN THE BALKAN CONSOCIATIONAL DEMOCRACIES – A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF MACEDONIAN WITH BOSNIAN EXPERIENCE
The purpose of this paper is to consider the question of examining the constitutionality in countries whose political system has elements of consociational democracy. The consociational model was traced back to the late 60s of the 20th century in the works of the American political scientist of Dutch origin, Arend Lijphart. From the mid-90s of the XX century, this model has become an extremely popular constitutional engineering within the International Community itself, which was involved in the process of post-conflict international state-building, leading to the creation of new constitutional arrangements such as the case of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the Dayton Peace Agreement (DPA) 1995, but also the Republic of North Macedonia (RNM) following the 2001 Ohrid Framework Agreement (OFA). Therefore, the interest of this paper is to examine the position, jurisdiction, and institutional structure of judicial review bodies in these two countries of consociational democracy in Southeast Europe, by comparing Bosnia and Herzegovina’s experience with that of the Republic of North Macedonia
THE INVESTMENTS SECTORAL STRUCTURE AS A FACTOR FOR DEVELOPMENT ACCELERATION
Having in mind the close interactive connections between individual activities or sectors of each national economy, directing investments in certain sectors of the economy produces effects, rarely multiplicative on other activities. In this sense, the sectoral structure of investments can be an important factor in development acceleration. The analysis of the structure of the economy through the answer to one of the basic questions in the economy (what, how much and how, where and for whom it is produced) determines the current aggregate supply, but at the same time gives predictions to overcome the weaknesses and disproportions in the current economic structure through sectoral direction of future investments. The economic structure policy and investment policy that is related to the previous one is an immanent need not only in planning oriented economies, but also in economies with significant market orientation. Proper investment policy creates preconditions for exploiting the comparative advantages of the economy, harmonizing the ratio of imports and exports, improving the country\u27s balance of payments position, increasing employment and accelerating growth. The paper will analyze the sectoral structure of investments in RN Macedonia, as well as a comparative analysis with some of the neighboring countries and EU countries, in order to propose conclusions for the sectors of the economy that should be emphasized in the forthcoming period
UNDERSTANDING AND TEACHING GEN Z IN HIGHER EDUCATION
This article deals with understanding and reaching the new generation of students in higher education and aligning to their learning styles. Presented are the results of a survey conducted with educators at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality in Ohrid, North Macedonia and other studies which show that behavioral characteristics of the students seem inadequate from the educator’s point of view. Research outcomes about Gen Z learning styles, also discussed in the paper, show a discordance of expectations and aspirations between educators and students due to generational differences which lead to disconnection and deficient learning outcomes. To build and apply an adequate student-centered approach, educators are required to familiarize with the characteristics of the new student generation and need guidance to optimize communication and to improve their teaching process. The article also provides directions for teaching students in higher education and for students of tourism in particular
THE USAGE OF DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVING MANAGERIAL DECISION MAKING PROCESS
The ten main managerial roles are classified into three categories and one of them is decision making. Managers need timely information to perform their roles in this category. However, managerial decision-making is synonymous with the whole managerial process. The environment in which managers operate today is much more complex, and the trends themselves lead to increasing complexity. Due to a number of factors, such as new technologies, global markets, competition and political stability, managers are increasingly faced with the choice of multiple alternatives, with higher costs due to mistakes made and greater uncertainty about the future. As a result of these changes in the environment, managers need to learn how to use the new tools and techniques developed to support their decision making. Individual, group, and organizational success is particularly important, so information systems research is moving toward finding ways to improve support for the decision-making process. Therefore, different information systems are designed, developed and implemented to provide the needed support. This paper focuses on a specific research done on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia to determine the impact that systems have in their company. The survey involved 52 managers from different levels of decision making, from medium to large companies in the Republic of North Macedonia, and the purpose of this research is from obtained results to identify the impact of the decision support systems (DSS) on the degree of managerial satisfaction and the impact of these systems on company productivity
THE AWAKENING OF THE GIANT: THE CHINESE CIVILIZATION-STATE AND ITS GLOBAL AMBITION
This paper presents the basic premises of China as an emerging global actor with all its specificities of civilization-state. The Chinese civilization has an essential and complex body. It is this feeling of civilizational grandeur that generates a conviction in Chinese greatness. Special emphasis is given to the new global strategy of China, as a doctrine of President Xi Jinping. This new strategy is especially highlighted through the “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI) as the biggest project of the century and its 17+1 framework. The direct investment of China in countries around the world, appear as latent and hegemonic instruments for expansion of its political influence. Both, the BRI and the 17+1 framework represent triggers for achieving the Chinese global ambition
DESTINATION DEVELOPMENT: ENHANCING SMALL TOURISM FIRMS COMPETITIVENESS
This paper examines the tourism destination as a dynamic system of tourism components interplays. Systemic model of destination competitiveness includes analysis of comparative advantages (tourism resources) and competitive advantages (ability to use tourism resources effectively) of a given destination compared to its competitors. Destination development strategies that enhance Small Tourism Firms (STFs) competitiveness are brand value, agglomeration effects, differentiation strategy, cooperation, cost disease, state incentives, applying knowledge –based economic models and activities, clusters, alliances, networking, cooperation, and developing entrepreneurial support organizations (ESO’s). System view of tourism helps us to match tourism destination with appropriate supply and demand component development strategies. This approach enhances destination’s capacity to develop and integrate value-added products and services which in turn strengthens destination market position, while carefully spending its resources. Thus, destinations apply specific processes which transform assets (natural resources and infrastructures) into tangible economic results
