HEMATOLOGICAL CHANGES IN DIFFERENT CLINICAL FORMS AS A COMPLEMENTARY DIAGNOSTIC TOOL IN CANINE LEISHMANIASIS
The aim of this study was to evaluate the alterations in hematology parameters in relations to the different clinical forms in seropositive dogs to Leishmania infantum (L. infantum). Thirty seropositive dogs for Canine leishmaniasis (CanL) confirmed with an indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT), according to the clinical signs were allocated to three equal groups: asymptomatic (AD), oligosymptomatic (OD) and symptomatic dogs (SD). Blood samples were collected for hematology parameters analysis in all groups. A significant anemic profile was observed in the SD that correlates to the presence of specific symptoms in SD. Reduced granulocytes count and percentage in the SD and increased number of lymphocytes in the OD indicates on the complexity of immune response in the different clinical forms of CanL. The hematological changes can be considered a useful complementary tool for further evaluation of disease progression and prognosis in different clinical forms of CanL
MANAGING INTRAOPERATIVE FLOPPY IRIS SYNDROME WITH MALYUGIN PUPIL DILATOR
Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) is a complication due to cataract surgery and has been linked to the use of systemic therapy with alpha-1 blocker drugs, especially tamsulosin. The appearance of its symptoms makes the cataract operation itself complicated in every step. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the efficacy of Malyugin pupillary dilator in dealing with IFIS symptoms. The study involved 40 untreated and 40 treated patients with Malyugin ring intraoperatively. In each patient the following parameters were evaluated: pre- and postoperative best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraoperative and postoperative pupillary diameter, as well as intraoperative and postoperative complications Intraoperative and postoperative complications were significantly more prevalent in the untreated than in the treated group. This study suggests that Malyugin ring is effective in dealing with IFIS symptoms in patients undergoing tamsulosin therapy
TOWARDS PARTICIPATORY DIGITAL SOCIETY USING THE DIGITAL TWIN PARADIGM: CITIZEN DATA MODEL
Historically, societal challenges have been handled as complicated ones by dividing responsibilities into various organizations that are then mandated to provide needed solutions and services from their own perspective. It has also defined the enterprise architecture that has had a tendency to mimic organizational structures and its responsibilities. Today, modern societies are facing complex challenges, such as climate change, that can’t be solved without a paradigm shift of problem-solving. It also challenges information systems capabilities to co-operate in a cross-sectoral manner. Advances in ICT and its adaptation and penetration rate in every part of society introduce new possibilities that can only be benefitted in full by providing more integrated information systems. Moreover, the level of citizens’ expectation has raised due to other systems that liberally connect data from different sources. To meet new goals, societal services should become more proactive and personalized, satisfying citizens’ needs as they emerge. In this paper, we propose using a holistic model of digital twin paradigm for societal applications. The proposal builds on using a citizen 360-data model that reflects the characteristics of citizens that act as service users. Based on the data model, societal information systems can propose actions and provide proactive services that are mass-tailored to meet individuals’ needs

The participation of this type of insurance in Gross Written Premium is increasing as well as the number of sold policies. But is this increase due to awareness of the businesses for the advantages of having professional liability insurance or it is related to legal obligation for buying this insurance in order to comply with legal requirements or acquire license/permit for certain profession. The purpose of this paper is to analyze whether and to which extent the professional liability insurance is used as efficient strategy for offsetting the consequences and losses arising from professional liability risk
THE INFLUNCE OF SEASON ON THE CASEIN CONTENT AND HYGIENIC QUALITY OF THE RAW MILK
Increased somatic cell count (SCC) and a total count of microorganism presented as a colony forming units (CFU) in milk are often associated with mastitis in dairy cows. Alterations appearing in milk with the increased totalcount of microorganism and somatic cell count are mainly addressed to increased pH value, the unfavorable ratio of casein fractions, changes in coagulation capability of milk, reduced yield, and cheese quality. Casein is participating with approximately 82% of the total milk protein, which makes it the most important part of the protein content. Numerous parameters impact on raw milk selection for cheese production, but the most important is thecasein content and hygienic quality of raw milk (total count of microorganism and somatic cell count). During the research, in total of 1.440 raw milk samples were analyzed. The aim of the research was to determine the impact of the total count of microorganisms and somatic cell count, depending on the season, on changes in raw milk physical-chemical characteristics, with special attention on casein. Raw milk samples were tested with LactoScope FTIR Advanced (Delta Instruments). An obtained result indicates a significant correlation between raw milk microbiological quality and total casein content. Raw milk microbiological quality depends mostly on farm conditions and GHP, and raw milk manipulation until processing. The results obtained from this research indicate the fact that seasonal changes have an impact on the quality and hygienic condition of raw cow\u27s milk.It can be concluded that an increase in somatic cell count, rather than total count of microorganisms, resulted in a reduced protein and casein content in raw milk.
THE QUEST FOR UNITY OWNING OR SHARING THE TRADITIONS OF THE CLASSICAL WORLD
"Know thyself" is one of the most notable wisdoms of the classical past connected to both philosophy and religions. For centuries, already, the West has “known itself” as the heir of the classical world, embraced its ideas and traditions and emulated its forms and symbols. For many modern Western leaders and intellectuals, the classical heritage represented the moral compass of the Western world and its main credential for global leadership or rule. After the end of the Cold War the victorious West had to re-envision itself in relation to the world. Is it the most efficient coercive global power, as Huntington followers suggested, or the moral authority and prudent leader, that, according the Fukuyama, was able to unite the world? In this context, the essay reexplores the philosophical and religions messages of the Classical world. We ultimately ask if Socrates and Sun Tzu, preaching “know thyself” in the 5c. BC, represent the edges of the same Old world, capable to unite us again
LEGISLATION FOR MOUNTAIN TRAILS AND PATHS AS A FACTOR FOR DEVELOPMENT OF MOUNTAINEERING TOURISM IN MACEDONIA
The adoption of the Law on Mountain Trails from 2014, amended in 2015, gives hope that conditions for the development and promotion of mountaineering tourism will be created in Macedonia, by establishing safe conditions for using mountain and hiking trails and paths. The adoption of the Law determines the conditions and the arrangement of mountain trails and paths, their maintenance, classification and categorization, as well as other issues important for their use. In this way, greater protection of the nature and prevention of negative consequences for biodiversity will be achieved. This Law, together with Bylaws, contains numerous regulations that are fully related to the determination of the mountain paths and trails. The legislation is a good precondition for the development of this segment of alternative tourism in Macedonia
