    Quantum Algorithm for Appointment Scheduling

    Suppose a practical scene that when two or more parties want to schedule an appointment, they need to share their calendars with each other in order to make it possible. According to the present result the whole communication cost to solve this problem should be their calendars’ length by using a classical algorithm. In this work, we investigate the appointment schedule issue made by N users and try to accomplish it in quantum information case. Our study shows that the total communication cost will be quadratic times smaller than the conventional case if we apply a quantum algorithm in the appointment-scheduling problem

    LDPC Code’s Decoding Algorithms for Wireless Sensor Network: a Brief Review

    As an effective error correction technology, the Low Density Parity Check Code (LDPC) has been researched and applied by many scholars. Meanwhile, LDPC codes have some prominent performances, which involves close to the Shannon limit, achieving a higher bit rate and a fast decoding. However, whether these excellent characteristics are suitable for the resource-constrained Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), it seems to be seldom concerned. In this article, we review the LDPC code’s structure brief.ly, and them classify and summarize the LDPC codes’ construction and decoding algorithms, finally, analyze the applications of LDPC code for WSN. We believe that our contributions will be able to facilitate the application of LDPC code in WSN

    Research on CO Pollution Control of Motor Vehicle Exhaust

    Carbon monoxide (CO) is harmful to our health, and even causes death. The main source of CO is automobile exhaust. Therefore, this article determines that CO is the emission factor, and finally the evaluation model is established. The model provides an important basis for the highway construction project design, traffic management, environmental pollution control, energy saving, environmental evaluation and so on. Compared with the traditional method that calculates the road traffic volume through the air emissions model, according to the total amount of air pollution control, this paper builds the emission diffusion model, which calculates the road traffic volume by road exhaust density. First of all, this paper measures CO emissions by testing 435 multifunction detectors from Shanghai typical roads, and compares the results with the national standard control. According to the standard in automobile exhaust emissions, the extreme values of the traffic volume over the road are calculated. Finally, the model’s reasonableness and accuracy are validated through case study. The results from case analysis show that the evaluation model is of great practical significance

    Joint Self-Attention Based Neural Networks for Semantic Relation Extraction

    Relation extraction is an important task in NLP community. However, some models often fail in capturing Long-distance dependence on semantics, and the interaction between semantics of two entities is ignored. In this paper, we propose a novel neural network model for semantic relation classification called joint self-attention bi-LSTM (SA-Bi-LSTM) to model the internal structure of the sentence to obtain the importance of each word of the sentence without relying on additional information, and capture Long-distance dependence on semantics. We conduct experiments using the SemEval-2010 Task 8 dataset. Extensive experiments and the results demonstrated that the proposed method is effective against relation classification, which can obtain state-of-the-art classification accuracy just with minimal feature engineering

    Drone also known as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has drawn lots of attention in recent years. Quadcopter as one of the most popular drones has great potential in both industrial and academic fields. Quadcopter drones are capable of taking off vertically and flying towards any direction. Traditional researches of drones mainly focus on their mechanical structures and movement control. The aircraft movement is usually controlled by a remote controller manually or the trajectory is pre-programmed with specific algorithms. Consumer drones typically use mobile device together with remote controllers to realize flight control and video transmission. Implementing different functions on mobile devices can result in different behaviors of drones indirectly. With the development of deep learning in computer vision field, commercial drones equipped with camera can be much more intelligent and even realize autonomous flight. In the past, running deep learning based algorithms on mobile devices is highly computational intensive and time consuming. This paper utilizes a novel real-time object detection method and deploys the deep learning model on the modern mobile device to realize autonomous object detection and object tracking of drones

    Clean Production for Chrome Free Leather by Using a Novel Triazine Compound

    Based on a novel triazine compound, the properties of tanned leather and commercial feasibility in pilot scale have been investigated. Then this novel approach tanning was compared with conventional chrome tanning: in the condition of less-salt pickling and chrome free, the physicochemical properties including thermal stability and mechanical strength were analyzed. Meanwhile, the surface roughness and fiber dispersion were evaluated as well. The results show that the thermal stability and mechanical strength of the triazine compound tanned leather are similar to conventional chrome tanned leather, the fiber bundle is well-dispersed and much evener than that of chrome treating. The optimized tanning approach has obvious reduction in environmental impact and leads an excellent biodegradability of tanning liquor. In industrial application, the cost of materials and water treatment are reduced effectively. The production of chrome free leather can encourage the sustainable development of leather industry and protects ecological environment in some extent

    Edible Coatings Based on Apple Pectin, Cellulose Nanocrystals, and Essential Oil of Lemongrass: Improving the Quality and Shelf Life of Strawberries (Fragaria Ananassa)

    In this work, nine different types of edible coating based on pectin, cellulose nanocrystals, glycerol, and essential oil of lemongrass were prepared and used to coat strawberries with a film formed directly on the surface of the coated fruit. The effects of the different edible coatings on refrigerated fruits in terms of weight loss, titratable acidity, total soluble solids, pH, and anthocyanin content was evaluated after 2 days, 4 days, 6 days, and 8 days of storage. Application of the edible coatings reduced the weight loss of the coated strawberries and the anthocyanin content. The total soluble solids content of or uncoated fruit increase more markedly than that of coated fruit. In contrast, pH was maintained for both coated and uncoated strawberries. The edible coatings were effective in minimizing of the weight loss, without worsening the physical chemistry attributes. The treatments T5 and T9 presented the best results

    Study on the Effect of Surface Modification on the Mechanical and Thermal Behaviour of Flax, Sisal and Glass Fiber-Reinforced Epoxy Hybrid Composites

    Natural fiber-reinforced hybrid composites can be a better replacement for plastic composites since these plastic composites pose a serious threat to the environment. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of surface modification of the natural fibers on the mechanical, thermal, hygrothermal, and water absorption behaviors of flax, sisal, and glass fiber-reinforced epoxy hybrid composites. The mechanical properties of alkaline treated sisal and flax fibers were found to increase considerably.Tensile, flexural and impact strength of glass/flax-fiber-reinforced hybrid samples improved by 58%, 36%, and 51%, respectively, after surface alkaline treatment. In addition, the hygrothermal analysis and water absorption capacity are studied and also the Interfacial bonding properties were analyzed using Scanning Electron Microscopic images. The thermal analysis using thermogravimetric analyzer reveals that the decomposition temperature for hybrid fiber reinforced composites are between 306 and 312℃. In conclusion,surface treatment improves the performance of natural fiber in hybrid fiber-reinforced composites, particularly flax fiber

    Evaluation of Biodegradation in Aqueous Medium of Poly(Hydroxybutyrate-<i>Co</i>-Hydroxyvalerate)/Carbon Nanotubes Films in Respirometric System

    Biodegradable polymers have been increasingly used for scientific and commercial applications because they are similar to some conventional thermoplastics and exhibit the ability of self-degradation. Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) nanocomposites films with 1 and 2 wt% of carbon nanotubes (CNT) were prepared by solution mixing, followed by solvent evaporation. In this work, PHBV/CNT nanocomposites were submitted to biodegradation in an aqueous medium for 34 days through a respirometric system. Then, the PHBV films were analyzed by the CO2 production and mineralization as a response of a microbial attack, which was monitored by back titration during all the experiment. The films were also characterized by measuring the weight loss; crystallinity was evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and the surface morphology by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). By analyzing the weight loss of the films, it was observed that adding CNT increases the resistance to biodegradation process. The obtained values of CO2 production and mineralization of the samples, as well as the values of weight loss, showed that the biodegradation of PHBV/CNT nanocomposites was minor in comparison to neat PHBV. The addition of CNT in PHBV matrix influences the surface morphology, causing the presence of cavities and an increase of roughness
