Ett professionellt landskap i förvandling
No full textDenna antologi beskriver och analyserar hur sju professionella kompetensfält i Sverige har utvecklats från cirka 1980-tal. Den har skrivits inom ramen för forskningsprogrammet Det professionella landskapet i Sverige under ledning av Thomas Brante. Detta program har, jämte flera andra aktiviteter, innefattat två forskningsprojekt som genomförts med finansiering av forskningsråd. Utifrån forskningsprogrammet har ett stort antal publikationer presenterats. Av dessa bör två böcker särskilt nämnas: Thomas Brantes (2014)Den professionella logiken: hur vetenskap och praktik förenas i det moderna kunskapssamhället, Stockholm: Liber, och Thomas Brantes, Eva Johanssons, Gunnar Olofssons och Lennart Svenssons (2015) Professionerna i kunskapssamhället: en jämförande studie av svenska professioner, Stockholm: Liber.
Forskningsprojektet ”Kunskapssamhällets bärare. En studie av professionernas historiska framväxt och nutida samhälleliga betydelse i Sverige” har finansierats av Vetenskapsrådet. Thomas Brante har lett forskningsprogrammet, och sedan 2011 också detta specifika projekt där han samlade ett stort antal forskare som parallellt arbetat med olika professionella fält. Under arbetets gång har forskargruppen haft återkommande seminarier och diskuterat texter och resultat av studierna. Thomas Brante avled 2016 då projektet var i sitt slutskede. Han hade vid den tiden kommenterat kapitlen som var under arbete, och han hade också skrivit utkast till en inledningstext. Detta motiverar att Thomas Brante står som huvudredaktör också för dessa antologier.

Connecting Teachers – Changing from Within: Proceedings from the 2024 Lund University Conference on Teaching and Learning
No full textThe 2024 Lund University Conference on Teaching and Learning, hosted by MedCUL and the Division for Higher Education Development (AHU), took place in the newly inaugurated Forum Medicum – an environment purposefully designed to inspire connection, collaboration, and exchange. The venue’s open architecture mirrored the conference theme, Connecting teachers – changing from within, underscoring the relationship between space, dialogue, and pedagogical development work. With nearly 280 participants, this was the largest edition of the biannual conference to date. New initiatives, such as pre-conference workshops and active student participation, contributed to a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere. The contributions collected in these proceedings demonstrate the diversity and depth of ongoing pedagogical development across the university. They explore ways in which higher education can be continuously reimagined through collaboration, reflective practice, and responsiveness to societal and technological change. No full textNils Månsson Mandelgren och kampen för kulturens framtid är en antologi med syftet att ge nya perspektiv på Mandelgrens omfattande livsverk. Hittills har forskningen främst haft fokus på hans dokumentation av äldre kulturyttringar, men hans stridbarhet och oräddhet i att utmana etablissemanget hade sikte på hur samtidens och framtidens kulturinstitutioner borde utformas och organiseras. I boken diskuteras vad Mandelgren faktiskt uppnådde i sitt arbete för utvecklingen av museiväsendet, kulturminnesvården och konst- och hantverksutbildningarna i Sverige. Här framgår också hur Mandelgren som enskild person med stor energi och övertygelse lyckades driva sina idéer och projekt med hjälp av ett vittförgrenat nätverk i flera europeiska länder. Rational empiricism: The idealist view of (elementary) physics
No full textThis book attempts to reconstruct elementary physics in full compliance with reason, thus continuing the work of philosophers (experimental and mathematical) throughout the centuries. The unabridged Newton\u27s mechanics is recovered, Gauss intuitions about relational electromagnetism are developed and completed and Schrödingers undulatory quantum theory is reproposed, unifying all three theories in one formulation, and connecting with psychological and philosophical works, as well as with the historical context. Urgent action is imperative to address these issues, necessitating a fundamental transformation in food production and distribution methods, particularly considering escalating urbanization trends.
Urban agriculture plays a crucial role by repurposing city spaces for farming, preserving natural environments beyond urban boundaries, and providing local food access to consumers. Rooftop greenhouses emerge as a particularly promising solution in temperate and cold climates, extending the growing season for various vegetables such as tomatoes, salads, herbs, and cucumbers, even during the winter months. Additionally, rooftop greenhouses facilitate water harvesting and maximize the utilization of free sunlight, covering approximately half of their lighting requirements. Furthermore, they contribute to energy efficiency by reducing heating and cooling demands for both the greenhouse itself and the host building.

No full textHeraldry and the law have close connections. Heraldry has been discussed in legal terms from the 14th century onwards. State, municipal and, in some places, family heraldry is regulated through law. Some states have had, and some have still, heraldic offices. Symbols of law occur in heraldic arms. Heraldry can be discussed in terms of intangible cultural heritage. Heraldic norms are similar to, and interact with, legal norms.
This type of questions was discussed at the XXIInd Colloquium of the Académie Internationale d’Héraldique (the International Academy of Heraldry) in Lund in August 2023.
