    Reconstruction of Procession in Central Court at Knossos

The student cataloger's name can be found in the dc.contributor.advisor field.This image depicts a procession, likely religious, held in the Central Court in Knossos. There are many men dressed only in colorful loincloths marching, dancing, and clapping in an orderly manner. One man is dressed in a priest's robe based on the Harvester Vase. Some of the men carry what look like brooms. The image seems to be depciting a celebratory procession. There is a large building in the background with mutliple floors and colorful markings on the outer wall, representing the Tripartite Shrine and other areas on the west side of the Central Court at Knossos.     Poto-Poto School Painting

    Reverend William Pruitt (1911-1999), who served as a Presbyterian missionary in the Belgian Congo from the 1930s to 1978, collected a group of 37 paintings from artists at the Poto-Poto School, a small art school in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo that is still in operation today. In 1998, the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. began an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse made by several children of missionaries from the time Pruitt was a missionary in the Congo. This collection of paintings was found in the Rhodes College collection in the summer of 2023. The paintings were digitized and cataloged in the Visual Resources Center during fall 2023. The flowers are red, pink, white, and yellow. There are light and dark green leaves and bushes. It is the first of five images that form a panorama (along with sackett_64-67). The view includes the city itself as well as the mountains that surround it, the ocean in the background, and more mountains off in the distance beyond the ocean. There are signs of life nearby where this image was taken because of the tin roof that is visible through the bushes, but there are no people visible in the picture
