Research on Educational Transformation and the Adaptability of Digital Pedagogy from the Perspective of Digital Natives
Against the backdrop of digital technologies profoundly reshaping society, the unique cognitive characteristics of digital natives pose challenges to traditional educational models. This study, grounded in constructivist learning theory and the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) framework, systematically analyzes the cognitive traits of digital natives in areas such as fragmented information acquisition, visual learning preferences, and collaborative knowledge construction. Through case studies and empirical analysis, it proposes that digital pedagogy must adapt through four dimensions: integrating fragmented instructional content, designing multimodal interactions, implementing AI-adaptive learning pathways, and creating blended virtual-physical teaching environments. Findings confirm that adapted digital pedagogy enhances digital natives' learning engagement and knowledge internalization efficiency, providing theoretical foundations and practical pathways for educational digital transformation
The Future of Traditional Markets: A Qualitative Analysis of Traders' Strategies in Facing Digital Disruption in Bali
This study aims to analyze the strategies of traditional market traders in facing digital disruption and the increasing dominance of modern markets in Bali. The phenomena of digitalization and the expansion of modern retail have placed significant pressure on the sustainability of traditional markets, which have long been the backbone of family economies and social interaction spaces for the community. The research method used is qualitative with an exploratory approach, through in-depth interviews and participatory observation of 7 traders in several traditional markets in Bali. The results of the study indicate that all traders experience obstacles, such as fluctuations in commodity prices, vulnerability of perishable products, and intense competition with modern stores. However, the traders were still able to survive by implementing adaptation strategies, including maintaining the quality of their goods, offering affordable prices, keeping their stalls clean, and continuing to trade despite unstable income. These findings confirm that traditional markets still play an important role in supporting family economies and maintaining social functions within the community, even under the pressure of modern market developments and digital transformation. The future of traditional markets in Bali heavily depends on the traders' ability to preserve social and cultural values, as well as the quality of services that modern markets do not offer. Additionally, supportive policies and inclusive innovations are needed for traditional markets to continue surviving and thriving in the digital economic ecosystem
THE EFFECT OF FINANCIAL LITERACY AND MATHEMATICAL KNOWLEDGE ON THE INVESTMENT INTEREST OF JAKARTA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MODERATED BY RISK PERCEPTION
This study examines the influence of financial literacy and mathematical knowledge on investment interest among high school students in Jakarta, moderated by risk perception. The sampling method used was probability random sampling. The study involved 489 high school students from Jakarta. To obtain primary data, questionnaires were distributed online to both public and private high schools in five areas of Jakarta. This study used a quantitative approach, and the data obtained were processed. by using the Smart PLS program with a 5% significance level. Empirical evidence shows that financial literacy, mathematical knowledge, and risk perception partially influence the investment interest of Jakarta high school students. Furthermore, it was found that risk perception does not moderate the relationship between financial literacy and investment interest, nor does it moderate the relationship between mathematical knowledge and investment interest. The results show that as financial literacy, mathematical knowledge, and risk perception increase, the investment interest of Jakarta high school students also increases. Conversely, risk perception does not moderate the influence of financial literacy and mathematical knowledge on investment interest of Jakarta high school students. This study provides important insights for the government and schools that by strengthening financial literacy and mathematical knowledge, students' interest in investing increases
A Meta-Analysis-Based Study of the Factors Influencing Students' Engagement in Classroom Learning
In response to inconsistent findings in existing research on the factors influencing students’ classroom learning engagement, this study aims to systematically synthesize and re-examine empirical evidence in this field through a meta-analysis to derive more generalizable conclusions. Method/Process: Using a meta-analytic approach that integrates both qualitative and quantitative methods, 43 high-quality empirical studies that met the inclusion criteria were rigorously screened from international and domestic sources. Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software was employed to aggregate reported effect sizes (correlation coefficients), followed by heterogeneity testing, publication bias assessment, and moderator analysis. Results/Conclusion: The analysis identified 13 factors that significantly influence student classroom engagement. Effect size estimates indicated that teacher–student relationships, students’ thinking skills, emotional factors, and teacher behaviors showed moderate correlations with engagement, marking them as key determinants. Moderator analysis further revealed that educational stage (basic education vs. higher education) significantly moderated the effects of three factors, personality traits, thinking skills, and learning background, with stronger correlations for personality traits and thinking skills observed at the basic education level. Innovation/Value: By quantifying the influence of multiple factors and elucidating the moderating role of educational stage, this study clarifies heterogeneity in prior findings and provides a robust theoretical foundation and practical guidance for developing targeted strategies to enhance student engagement across different educational phases
THE DOUBLE REDUCTION POLICY & IMPACT ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND PARENTAL REACTIONS IN COMPULSORY EDUCATION IN DONGCHENG DISTRICT, BEIJING, CHINA
This paper examines the effects of China’s Double Reduction Policy (DRP) on student academic achievement and parental reactions in compulsory education within Dongcheng District, Beijing. Drawing on a mixed-methods study that combines survey data (n=320) and semi-structured interviews (n=12) with stakeholders, the research investigates variations in outcomes across socioeconomic groups, teacher preparedness, and school-level implementation. Quantitative analyses (ANOVA, multiple regression) assess changes in achievement and perceived academic readiness, while thematic analysis of interviews explores parental anxiety, adaptation strategies, and informal tutoring markets. Findings indicate heterogeneous impacts: some students report improved well-being and engagement after reduced homework and tutoring, whereas others — particularly those previously reliant on intensive tutoring — express concerns about academic preparedness. Evidence also points to emergent informal markets and unequal capacity across schools to provide in-school remediation, which risks exacerbating socioeconomic disparities. The study concludes that the DRP’s equity goals require targeted school support, teacher professional development, and mechanisms to monitor local implementation. The paper contributes district-level empirical evidence to debates on large-scale education reforms and offers policy recommendations to align wellbeing objectives with sustained academic outcomes
The Urgency of Coding Education: Preparing the Future Generation with Digital Skills
Coding education has become an urgent necessity in preparing the younger generation to face the challenges of the digital era. This article analyzes the urgency of coding education through a literature review focusing on its cognitive benefits, social impacts, and policy implications within the Indonesian education system. The findings indicate that early coding education not only develops technical skills but also enhances logical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration abilities. The policy to integrate Coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) subjects into the national curriculum, as part of the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision, faces major challenges such as infrastructural disparities and limited teacher competencies. Proposed solutions include strengthening digital infrastructure, providing continuous teacher training, and implementing project-based learning approaches. Comprehensive implementation requires synergy among the government, schools, industry, and society to create an inclusive and sustainable educational ecosystem. The article concludes that coding education is a strategic investment to develop high-quality human resources capable of competing in an increasingly digital global market
Digital Pedagogy for Inclusive Education: Integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in K-12 Online Classrooms
The pandemic accelerated the global shift to online learning, but this transition exposed deep-seated inequities in K-12 education—especially for students with disabilities or unique learning needs. This study explores how Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a framework rooted in neuroscience about learner variability, can make digital pedagogy more inclusive. We looked at 32 K-12 online classrooms across Indonesia and Japan, tying our work to UNESCO’s SDG 4 on quality education. Three key barriers emerged: inaccessible learning materials, one-size-fits-all assessments, and teachers lacking training in adaptive tools. But when we implemented UDL strategies—like offering content in text, audio, and video; letting students choose how to show their learning; and training teachers—student engagement rose 41%, and dropout rates among marginalized learners dropped 27%. UDL isn’t just a quick fix; it’s a scalable, evidence-based way to connect educational technology and equity, transforming how we teach for sustainable development
