Data set for in vitro investigation into high protein diets on microbiota composition and metabolic output

    No full text
The data was produced by in-vitro gut modelling fermentation of different protein sources. Analysed were different bacterial clusters and metabolites present at different time points (0, 8, 24, 48 h) from the fermentation protein in faecal microbiota from 10 donors (5 male and 5 females)

Eskdalemuir Observatory monthly mean Potential Gradient 1911-1981

    Get PDF
Measurements of atmospheric electricity, specifically the Potential Gradient (PG), are relatively rare but have occasionally been made at some sites, such as meteorological or geomagnetic observatories. A long series of twentieth century PG measurements exists from Eskdalemuir Observatory in Scotland, which was obtained between 1911 and 1981. This archive provides the mean monthly values of the Eskdalemuir PG derived from hourly measurements

Dataset supporting the article 'Evaluation of empirical-dispersion-corrected, range-separated, double hybrid, and Meta-GGA density functional theory methods for interactions important in catecholic ligand/protein binding'

    No full text
***This dataset has been withdrawn: An updated version of the dataset is available at https://doi.org/10.17864/1947.000532*** Complexation energies and structure descriptors for complexes of four catechols (catechol, dinitrocatechol, dopamine and DOPAC) with eight counter-molecules: Mg(EDA)2(H2O)^2+, Zn(EDA)2(H2O)^2+, methyl amine, methanol, benzene, indole, isobutane and methane thiol. Each complex is optimized and the complexation energy calculated with sixteen DFT methods (M062X, M06, MN15, MN12SX, SVWN, BLYP, B3LYP, CAM-B3LYP, B2PLYP, B97XD, wB97D, wPHEhPHE, LC-wHPBE, tHCTHhyb, LC-wPHE-D, and BMK) as well as HF, MP2 and CCSD, each with the cc-pVDZ basis set. All calculations performed using Gaussian 16. Raw data for manuscript 'Evaluation of empirical-dispersion-corrected, range-separated, double hybrid, and Meta-GGA density functional theory methods for interactions important in catecholic ligand/protein binding', by Harle and Cafiero

Dataset to support improved peptide and protein database search scores in chimeric MS/MS spectra

    No full text
This dataset contains raw and processed data for liquid atmospheric-pressure matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation (LAP-MALDI) mass spectrometry analysis of mixtures of peptides and proteins using a modified Synapt G2-Si with an in-house built atmospheric pressure MALDI source. Chimeric MS/MS peak lists and filtered peak lists produced through the presented data acquisition/analysis workflow were searched using MASCOT

Dataset supporting the article 'Fermentation of human milk oligosaccharides using faecal microbiota from healthy and Irritable Bowel Syndrome donors using in vitro batch cultures'

    Get PDF
This dataset presents the statistical analysis results from a study exploring the effects of different human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), solely and in combination, on the gut microbiome and short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production using 280ml anaerobic in vitro batch culture fermenters. 7 IBS and 3 healthy volunteers were included and samples from each fermentation were taken at timepoints 0, 4, 8, 24 and 48 hours. The aim was to assess prebiotic effects of HMOs in faecal samples from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and healthy controls, and to determine a best-performing HMO in IBS. Fluorescence in situ hybridisation coupled with flow cytometry was utilised to study the microbiota at 0 and 24 hours. SCFA production was assessed by gas chromatography at 0, 8, 24 and 48 hours. The data outputs were kept separately for both laboratory techniques. Baseline microbial profiles were analysed to determine whether there were significant differences between healthy and IBS volunteers and whether there was an IBS signature. IBS donors had different starting microbial profiles compared to healthy controls, and lower levels of SCFA. In response to HMOs, there was a shift in both the healthy and IBS faecal microbiomes. In IBS donors, Bifidobacterium, Faecalibacterium and total bacterial numbers significantly increased post-HMO intervention. There was a shift in both the healthy and IBS faecal microbiomes and an increase in SCFA production at 24 hours

Electric Vehicle smart charging simulation and dispatch - code and configuration data

    No full text
This dataset includes Python code required to simulate the smart charging of an Electric Vehicle (EV) fleet, or similar electricity demand entities, under a variety of tariff / incentive structures and user assumptions. Four modules of code are accompanied by three configuration data files. Descriptions of additional, required input data tables are provided in the Readme. This code was used in preparation of the article, Daneshzand et al (2023), which includes reference to publicly accessible data sources for all required inputs

    Avocado supply chain dataset

    No full text
These data support the PhD thesis 'Epidemiology and community analysis of stem end rot-associated fungal pathogens and their impact on postharvest disease of commercial avocado (Persea americana)'. Fruit physiological and disease symptom data were collected from avocados provided by the Greencell fruit distribution centre at the end of the supply chain. Fruit mesocarp was imaged and samples from the stem end were plated for each avocado to match disease symptoms to potential pathogenic fungal morphotype

Survey on valuers' perceptions of sustainability in the UK commercial property market

    Get PDF
This data was collected as part of a PhD thesis titled 'Valuers' perception of sustainability in the UK commercial property market'. Data was collected during July-September 2019 in the form of an online survey. An online link to the survey questionnaire was sent to UK valuers and data was collected anonymously

Flower visitor, pod productivity and pod quality data from Moringa plantations with floral interventions and control

    Get PDF
These data include information on flower visitor abundance and species richness (30 different species of bees, flies, butterflies and moths were recorded on the whole), pod productivity (percentage of flowers that set fruit) and pod quality (length, diameter, seed number and weight) of moringa grown under different pollination treatments including pollinator exclusion (no visitation by insects), open pollination (visitation by insects) and supplementary pollination (hand pollinated) in plantations that are used as control, and in plantations with inter and border-cropping as floral interventions. Data were collected for Translating Research Opportunities to enhance Pollination benefits to economically Important Crops And improve Livelihoods (TROPICAL) project

Data supporting the article 'Functional diversity metrics can perform well with highly incomplete datasets'

    Get PDF
This archive contains data and scripts supporting ‘Functional diversity metrics can perform well with highly incomplete datasets’. We aimed to quantify changes in functional diversity due to missing and biased data in two types of diversity metrics: functional richness and functional divergence, each estimated with two methods, and to determine if data imputation methods reduce errors and biases in estimated metrics. We identified the degree of missingness and bias permissible when quantifying large-scale functional diversity. We simulated random and biased removal of data from three empirical trait datasets: an avian dataset (9579 species, Tobias et al., 2021), a plant dataset (2185 species, Díaz al., 2022) and a crocodilian dataset (25 species, Griffith et al. 2022). For these datasets we assessed whether functional diversity metrics were robust to data incompleteness with and without using imputation to fill data gaps. We compared two metrics each calculated with two methods: functional richness (calculated with convex hulls and trait probabilities densities) and functional divergence (calculated with distance-based Rao and trait probability densities). This archive contains all scripts supporting these analyses, simulated incomplete datasets (both with and without imputed values), and results tables of functional diversity estimations for each simulated incomplete dataset
