Data from: Diesel exhaust and ozone adversely affect pollinators and parasitoids within flying insect communities
These data represent insect abundances from the University of Reading’s eight-ring Free-Air Diesel and Ozone Enrichment (FADOE) facility in 2018 and 2019. The two CSV files represent datasets from experimental hypothesis 1 (Pan_trap_data) and hypothesis 2 (Oviposition_data), respectively. Hypothesis 1 determined the effects of air pollution (tropospheric ozone and diesel exhaust, individually and in combination) on the abundance of flying insects from pan traps when Brassica nigra flowers were both present and absent within each of eight FADOE rings. Hypothesis 2 determined the effects of the same air pollutants on the oviposition success of Pieris brassicae butterflies on young Brassica napus plants. See README file for a full description of each data file
Dataset supporting the article 'Spinel Ferrites MFe2O4 (M = Co, Cu, Zn) for photocatalysis: theoretical and experimental insights'
This is the data set associated with the article 'Spinel Ferrites MFe2O4 (M = Co, Cu, Zn) for photocatalysis: theoretical and experimental insights'. The contents are split into sections: computational and experimental. The calculations section includes data collected using Density Functional Theory (DFT). The experimental section contains data collected by the following methods: X-ray Diffraction (XRD), catalytic activity measurements, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). Most of the data is uploaded as a plain text file, except the data in the catalysis section which is uploaded as both a .xlsx (compatible with Excel) and a .csv file
Dataset supporting the article 'The role of exact exchange and empirical dispersion in density functional theory-based three-body non-covalent interactions'
All component data for calculating density functional theory-based total and three-body interaction energies for a set of 20 three-body molecular complexes.
Complexes are taken from a benchmark dataset (Ochieng S, Patkowski K, Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (2023) 25(42) 28621-28637). Data is also presented showing the basis set convergence behaviour of the interaction energies. All calculations performed using Gaussian 16. Raw data for manuscript 'The role of exact exchange and empirical dispersion in density functional theory-based three-body non-covalent interactions'
Storm Ciarán atmospheric pressure data
Storm Ciarán passed over the south of the UK on 2nd November 2023. This caused the atmospheric pressure to be unusually low for November, in the early morning in the south-east of the UK. This archive contains a collection of pressure measurements assembled for the region most affected. Data from roadside measurement sites at southern UK sites form the majority of this archive, at 10min sampling. The archive includes measurements at 1sec resolution obtained from the University of Reading Atmospheric Observatorys precision barometer data, and from two amateur sites (Selsley and High Littleton) in the south-west. Boiling point of water determinations from Reading are also included
Dataset for a meta-analysis on word learning in children with developmental language disorder
This dataset includes data analysed in a meta-analysis on word learning abilities in children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). It contains all data extracted from each of the 46 studies that met inclusion criteria, each comparing word learning in children with DLD to their typically developing peers.
The studies used a variety of experimental tasks, therefore the dataset includes detailed information on task characteristics, such as the number of words taught, maximum word length, exposure frequency, type of instruction (explicit or implicit), and outcome measures. Additionally, it specifies the stage of word learning assessed in each study (encoding, consolidation, or reconsolidation).
Demographic details about participant groups are included, along with data on children's cognitive and linguistic profiles as reported in each paper. This dataset is a valuable resource for exploring the types of experimental word learning tasks in the literature, examining task characteristics and participant profiles, and investigating word learning outcomes for children with DLD compared to typically developing children
Reversal learning reliability behavioural dataset
This repository contains re-test data for a reversal learning task completed by 150 participants, and associated scripts for the analysis of the reliability of behavioural and computational model parameters.
Participants completed 150 trials of the reversal learning task where they were presented with two visually distinguishable abstract stimuli and had to learn through experience which of these two choices were "better". Throughout the task the "better" choice would change, such that the "better" stimulus became the "worse" stimulus and vice versa.
This repository also includes the scripts needed to replicate our analysis presented in the associated publication, including the calculation of reliability metrics, our bootstrap sensitivity analysis, generating plots, and statistical analysis
Data supporting 'Stigma and its impact on disclosure and mental health secrecy in young people with clinical depression symptoms: a qualitative analysis'
The aim of this qualitative research was to gather data about young people's experiences of depression stigma and its impact on loneliness, social isolation, and mental health disclosure and secrecy. This novel information can then be used to guide psychosocial interventions for young people with depression.
This study provides new evidence of how young people with depression experience stigma and its effects on disclosure and mental health secrecy. Knowing how young people struggle with these issues can allow us to develop interventions to encourage them to come forward and discuss their mental health in order to receive appropriate support and treatment. We recommend young people be signposted and have access to mental health champions or nominated teachers in their schools or universities
Data from polynya models for paper 'The atmospheric response to the Weddell Sea Polynya and its resolution dependence in three Atmospheric General Circulation Models'
Model output data from HadGEM3 (HA), OpenIFS (JK) and ECHAM5 (WP).
Model Data: Turbulent heat flux, temperature 2m above the surface, mean sea level pressure, total precipitation, zonal wind at 850 hPa, geopotential height at 850 hPa. All files are in .mat format
Invertebrate data from malaise traps and sweep transects according to habitat type on farms in Caquetá, Colombia
These datasets include abundance data for invertebrates caught in three different habitat types on five farms in Caquetá, Colombia. Invertebrates were caught using two sampling methods, sweep net transects and malaise traps. Invertebrates were identified to order level at the Universidad de la Amazonia. These data were collected to investigate the impact of adopting silvopasture farming practices on biodiversity. As such, invertebrates were sampled in silvopasture plots, traditional intensive pasture plots and in forest remnants on each farm. Fieldwork was carried out over a three week period in August 2018
Atmospheric electricity data from the Bavarian Alps 1972-1983
Atmospheric electricity and other environmental measurements were made close to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, by Reinhold Reiter, at Mount Wank (1780 m, 47° 30' N, 11° 09' E). This archive contains recovered hourly measurements made at Wank from 1st August 1972 to 31st December 1983
