The paper discussed farming as a sustainable vocation for self-reliance and employability of adults, considering the current economic environment emphasizing the need for sustainable vocational choices to overcome the challenges of economic down turn where wages cannot sustain the inflation rate of the prices of goods and services. Basically, the purpose of the paper is to create more awareness on the need for adopting cultural practices in farming and to re-awaken the consciousness of seeing farming as an attractive, profit making business not as a mere hobby for adults. Literatures reviewed from textbooks and journals identified cultural practice as a way of sustaining soil fertility and increasing productivity. The rise of crime, hunger and theft in the society are attributable to poor attitude to farming profession as a result of get rich quick syndrome and poor attitude to farming also leads to low productivity of farm products and low productivity of farm products. The paper discussed the concept of farming; sustainable vocation and farming, self-reliance and farming; farming as the panacea for the employability of adultery and Vocational Adult Education Programme. The paper concludes that farming remains a sustainable vocation that the paper does not aim to turn every subsistence farmer into commercial farmer it should inspire farmers to think and make the right choices for profit it is recommended that the government should organize sensitization conferences, seminars and workshops to educate communities on the basic cultural practice in order to make farming more attractive through establishing functional farm settlement schemes and distributing improved farm inputs to farmers among others. The accomplishment of the recommendation will not only increase food production but will also attract youths for employability, sustainability and be self-reliant in farming profession

THE IMPACT OF FOREIGN AID ON SOCIO–ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA
Foreign aid is expected to stimulate economic growth, reduce poverty rate and unemployment level in the recipient countries. Nonetheless, a survey of the literature finds conflicting, and inconclusive findings. This study investigated the association between foreign aid and economic growth in Nigeria using linear regression with the application of the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) technique and time series annual data from 2010 to 2023. The study employed the growth rate of the gross domestic product as the dependent variable and the rates of unemployment, poverty, and foreign aid as the explanatory variables to ascertain how these factors affected Nigeria\u27s socioeconomic development. The findings revealed that while foreign aid has a positive correlation with GDP growth, poverty and unemployment rates had an inverse relationship with GDP growth. These findings may be explained by institutional failure, corruption, and inefficient use of scarce resources, which are undoubtedly, manifested in Nigeria\u27s high unemployment, insecurity, and extreme poverty rates. The Nigerian government should, therefore, implement the necessary policy steps to ensure that foreign aid is used as efficiently and as maximally as possible
Bank Credit and Growth of Manufacturing Sector in Nigeria
The study investigated Deposit Money Banks Credit and Growth of Manufacturing Sector in Nigeria from 2005-2019. To achieve this objective, the study adopted a survey research design and data were gathered through secondary sources. The secondary data were variously collected from central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) annual report on various issues, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) annual report and Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN)annual bulletin on Gross Domestic product (RGDP), Broad money supply(M2), Lending interest rate (LIR) and Exchange rate(EXR). Data gathered were tested for co-integration using Augmented Dickey-fuller (ADF) and vector error correction model (VECM) techniques. Multiple linear regressions were used to test the hypotheses formulated for the study. The data analyzed shows that there is a significant positive relationship between Deposit Money Banks Credit and Growth of Manufacturing sector in Nigeria. On the basis of the findings, the study recommends that the monetary authority should take a deliberate effort to fashion out lending interest rate that will make credit from the Deposit Money Banks affordable to economic agents in the manufacturing subsector. The current situation where return on investment in the subsector is less than the lending interest rate discourages investors in the manufacturing subsector from borrowing funds for the development of the subsector, the study concludes
INDIGENOUS ENTREPRENEURIAL ORIENTATION AND ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS OF MICRO-BUSINESSES IN EBONYI STATE, NIGERIA
This study determined the relationship between indigenous entrepreneurial orientation and economic competitiveness of micro-businesses in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Specifically, the study examined the relationship between apprentice mentorship and value creation as well as the relationship between apprentice mentorship and customer services of micro-businesses in Ebonyi state.
