Data were collected using structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics such percentages, mean, and simple linear regression model. The result shows that mean of age was 37.3 years, mean education was 12 years and mean of farm size was 0.6ha. Grand mean of level of use of sweetpotato production technologies was 2.68. Linear regression result showed significant effect on sex (-2.595)**, education (4.771)***, marital status 5.370***, household (2.290)**, farming experience (4.113)***, farm size (-4.542)***, and extension visitation (3.289)*** respectively. This study examined the impact of domestic investment and unemployment on economic growth in Nigeria for the period 1980 and 2022. The study employed the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bound test and the diagnostics tests to determine the reliability of the models and results obtained. The independent variables considered in the study are gross fixed capital formation (GFCF), unemployment rate (UNER), inflation rate (INFR), exchange rate (EXR), and interest rate (INR), while the dependent variable is economic growth proxy by real gross domestic product growth rate (RGDPgr). The findings revealed that gross fixed capital formation (GFCF) had positive and significant impact on the economic growth in Nigeria while unemployment had negative and significant impact on the economic growth in Nigeria. The study recommends the conscious accumulation of capital goods through budgetary provisions and aggressive pursuit of industrialization in order to generate more employment and reduce the negative impact of unemployment in Nigeria. No full text
The study investigates the linkage between bank leverage and financial fragility of banking system in Nigeria, employing panel vector auto regression (PVAR) model on quarterly banklevel and industrywide panel data (2006–2023). Empirical findings from the study reveal the existence of nexus between bank leverage and financial fragility. The results demonstrate how bank leverage moderately reduces financial fragility among banks in Nigeria, thus suggesting a forward-looking supervisory oversight for the DMBs characterized with such a higher debt ratio. The policy implication from the study is that, in curbing the excessive risk-taking behavior of banks in Nigeria, the regulatory authorities should initiate punitive measures. These should entail treating a percentage of the banks’ excess credit above the sectorial limit as a charge against the eligible capital used in computing their capital adequacy ratio. Finally, the study advises Central Bank of Nigeria to sustain its ongoing policy of stabilizing Naira through curtailing DMBs’ credits to the private sector during the periods of wide fluctuations of foreign exchange rate or acute supply of foreign exchange

The study adopted the Autoregressive Distributed Lag model (ARDL) as the estimation technique to capture the impact of monetary policy on agricultural sector performance from 1986 to 2023. Data were sourced from Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin and National Bureau of Statistics. No full text
This study investigates the relationship between money supply and inflation in Nigeria from 2004 to 2023, using OLS regression and Granger causality tests with key variables (Money Supply (M2), Consumer Price index (CPI), Gross domestic Product (GDP), Real Effective Exchange Rate (EXR), and Monetary Policy rate (MPR). Results show that money supply significantly raises inflation, while GDP and MPR dampen it, and exchange rate volatility intensifies it. The Granger causality result reveals that inflation drives money supply rather than the reverse, implying monetary expansion in Nigeria is reactive to inflationary pressures. The study concludes that effective inflation control requires proactive monetary policy supported by structural reforms to foster sustainable economic growth
