A REVIEW ON OBESITY PREDICTION USING MACHINE LEARNING TECHNIQUES
At present, protecting the community is crucial for addressing health issues, which can be done through medical research. Obesity has emerged as a global health crisis, posing a significant risk to the future. It ranks as one of the most prevalent health issues worldwide. Timely identification of a disease can assist both healthcare professionals and patients in taking action to reduce, if not completely eliminate, the underlying cause or in preventing the symptoms of the disease from worsening. Reviewing a patient's medical history is a common approach to diagnosing a disease; however, this process can be quite time-consuming when done manually and is often susceptible to errors and high costs. Thus, there is a compulsory to scientifically create a predictive model for the development of diseases using automated methods in today's world. This research highlights the capabilities of machine learning in tackling public health issues, laying the groundwork for future studies aimed at improving obesity prediction and prevention methods. Four machine learning algorithms were engaged: Random Forest, Decision Tree, K-Nearest Neighbor, and Support Vector Machine. Evaluation of bacterial contamination in indoor swimming pools
Background: The quality of water is a crucial factor in maintaining public health, as contaminated water can lead to the transmission of various waterborne diseases. One of the primary concerns is the contamination of swimming pools that represent a ubiquitous feature of recreational facilities particularly during the warmer months.Aim: Investigation the prevalence of bacterial contamination in water and environments of indoor swimming pools.Materials and methods: Totally, 100 swab samples were collected equally from the changing rooms, pool edges, pool ladders and water of various swimming pools in Wasit province (Iraq) during June and July (2024). Then, the swabs were cultured separately on three media (Blood Agar, Eosin Methylene Blue Agar and MacConkey Agar), purified and to identified based on their morphological characteristics and biochemical test.Results: Overall 37% of swab samples were contaminated with various species of bacteria; which found in pool edges (56%), pool ladders (44%), changing rooms (36%), and water (12%). Subsequently, the number of identified bacterial isolates was 68 (37.99%), 39 (21.79%), 45 (25.14%) and 27 (15.08%) in water, changing rooms, pool edges, and pool ladders, respectively. In changing rooms, 12 species of bacteria was reported, more significantly was Escherichia coli as well as Klepsellia aerogenes. In pool edges, 11 bacterial species were recorded; in which, significant increases were seen in Klepsellia pneumonia, Escherichia coli, as well as in Aeromonus hydrophila, and Vibrio cholera. Concerning the pool ladders, 10 bacterial species were diagnosed, particularly Vibrio cholera, Escherichia coli and Klepsellia pneumonia. Regarding water, 15 species of bacteria were recorded including Escherichia coli in addition to Vibrio cholera, Aeromonus hydrophila, Pseodomonus argenosa, Proteus mirabrillis, and less significantly in Klepsellia pneumonia, Acintopacter baumannii, Klepsellia aerogenes, Proteus vulgaris, Salmonella epidermidis, Streptococcus faecalis, Anteropacter cloacae, Citropecter frndii, Edwardsiella tarda, and Serratia liquefaciens.Conclusions: Based on results of the current study, swimming pools represent a source of various bacteria that might be transmitted to swimmer causing different infections in particular in skin. Hence, we advocated to implementation of comprehensive water quality monitoring programs and using of advanced diagnostic techniques to identify and tracking the potential pathogens with applying of effective disinfection strategies to mitigate the risk of bacterial contamination in swimming pools
A CASE REPORT ON AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS
Diabetes mellitus is a multifactorial metabolic disorder with increasing prevalence, contributing significantly to the global health burden. Given its impact on multiple organ systems, emphasis on prevention, early detection, and appropriate management is crucial. This case report presents a 56-year-old male patient with a 10-year history of diabetes, previously managed with allopathic medication, who sought consultation at the OPD of Government Ayurveda College Hospital, Kannur, Kerala. The patient presented with complaints of increased frequency of urination, excessive thirst, fatigue, foul-smelling sweat, oedema in the feet, and burning micturition. A comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s clinical condition, including an assessment of dosha, dooshya, and srothas, led to the administration of a Kapha-Medohara treatment protocol. This Ayurvedic intervention resulted in significant improvement in the patient's symptoms, highlighting the potential of integrative approaches in managing chronic metabolic disorders like diabetes

Infection control in dental clinics is a critical aspect of ensuring patient and staff safety, particularly given the high risk of cross-contamination in these settings. This systematic review examines the effectiveness of various infection control measures implemented in dental clinics, including personal protective equipment (PPE), sterilization protocols, environmental cleaning practices, hand hygiene, and aerosol management. A comprehensive search of peer-reviewed studies published between 2016 and 2025 was conducted, adhering to PRISMA guidelines. The findings highlight best practices and emerging technologies that enhance safety and compliance with global standards. Challenges such as cost, staff training, and adherence to protocols are also discussed, providing actionable recommendations for dental practitioners and policymakers. This review underscores the importance of robust infection control strategies in promoting safer dental environments and mitigating risks associated with infectious diseases
The Cycle of the Moon as an Allegory of Modern Dilemma, Despair, and Hope in Shehan Karunatilaka’s novel, “The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida”
This paper examines the utilisation of lunar imagery and symbolism in Shehan Karunatilaka’s novel “The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida,” which won the Booker Prize in 2022. It analyses the role of the moon as a fundamental motif, symbolising the progression of time, the cycles of life and death, and the protagonist’s exploration of the afterlife. The study examines the historical and cultural importance of the moon in several fields, such as science, religion, and literature, in order to understand its symbolic influence in the novel. Every phase of the moon aligns with significant advancements in Maali’s character progression and the gradual revelation of the mystery behind his demise. The lunar imagery in the context of Sri Lanka’s civil conflict serves as a representation of identity, marginalisation, and the recurring pattern of violence. The research determines that Karunatilaka’s incorporation of moon symbolism enhances the narrative’s exploration of intricate topics such as memory, justice, and the potential for disrupting patterns of violence and injustice
A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF DHATUPAKA LAKSHANA WSR TO MADHUMEHA
Ayurvedic physician’s even now diagnosing diabetes with the help of modern parameters such as laboratory findings of blood sugar levels FBS, PPBS, HbA1c etc. According to bruhatrayees and lagutrayees, prameha is divided into 20 types among them one is Madhumeha (Diabetes Mellitus). All these pramehas diagnosing with the help of Gandha, Varna, Rasa, Sparsha of mutra. Nowhere in classics, told about the exact or accurate lakshanas/symptoms of prameha.Majority of the aurvedic physicians are diagnosing prameha with the help of poorvarupa lakshanas such as malas accumulated in the dantha prathesha, pani-daha, pada-daha, trishna, excessive sweda, madhuryam-asyata. Dhatupaka is one among the least explained concepts in Ayurveda. But this state is closely related to the patho-physiology of multiple systemic disorders
NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT AND COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES IN PCOS: CURRENT EVIDENCE AND FUTURE DIRECTIONS
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrine disorder that significantly impacts reproductive and metabolic health in women of reproductive age. Globally, the prevalence of PCOS varies widely, with estimates ranging from 5% to 20%, affecting approximately 116 million women worldwide. In India, the prevalence ranges from 3.7% to 26%, highlighting a notable increase due to factors such as urbanization, changing lifestyles, and dietary habits. This paper reviews the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and management strategies for PCOS, focusing particularly on nutritional interventions and complementary therapies. Evidence suggests that a combined approach involving dietary adjustments, micronutrient supplementation, exercise, and psychological support can yield significant improvements in insulin sensitivity, metabolic health, and quality of life for patients. Increased awareness and research into the multifaceted nature of PCOS remain essential for establishing effective management protocols that address not only the physical symptoms but also the psychological impacts of this syndrome, thereby aiding public health efforts to combat the rising prevalence of PCOS in both global and Indian contexts
A STUDY ON THE DIVERSITY OF MILLIPEDES (DIPLOPODA) IN VARIOUS HABITATS OF SATARA TAHSIL, WESTERN GHAT, MAHARASHTRA
Diplopods are common in temperate, tropical, and subtropical plantation environments, as well as further atmospheres. Millipedes (Diplopoda) form a diverse group of invertebrates, playing an important role in distributing soil ecosystem facilities, though often poorly known. They act as decomposers, conserving soil erosion and nutrient cycling, and are among the greatest vital foliage litter creatures. Sympathetic soil invertebrate groups, together with the habitually essential millipedes, are vital (David 2015). The present study aims to know the diversity of millipedes in the exact habitations of Satara tahsil and to study how seasonal and edaphic structures affect their diversity. The present paper emphasizes the influence of these structures on millipede-type diversity, which originates from field studies conducted at three selected sites. These work efforts are focused on recording various millipede species found in the different habitats of Satara's study area. The study took place over a year, starting from 2023-24 and continuing to the present, focusing on the study area region in Satara. Our results showed that there are four genera present in the region, namely Anoplodesmus, Gyrodrepanum, Trigoniulus, and Xenobolus. The importance of millipedes in soil plays a direct role in its fertility. We distinguish various millipedes as indicators of ecological situations. The presence of millipedes is correlated with the content of organic matter and nutrient elements in the soil. An Assessment of Rotifer Diversity in Tikhol Dam, Parner Tehsil, Ahmednagar, MS, India
The present research explores the diversity and dispersal of rotifer fauna inside Tikhol Dam at Tikhol, District Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar). Seasonal sampling was conducted at multiple sites across the dam for a year and species identification was performed using standard taxonomic keys. The study recorded a rich diversity of rotifers, with species composition slightly varying across seasons and sampling sites—the significant seasonal variation in rotifer populations, with peak diversity observed at the time of winter period. The genus Brachionus (family Brachionidae) dominated the rotifer community, indicating a freshwater ecosystem with moderate to high nutrient levels (mesotrophic to eutrophic conditions). AEROMYCOLOGICAL STUDIES OF INDOOR ENVIRONMENT OF RAMDEOBABA SOLVENT, BRAMHAPURI DIST.CHANDRAPUR (MAHARASHTRA) INDIA
The aim of this study was to determine the fungal spore concentration in indoor environment of Ramdeobaba solvent, Bramhapuri dist. Chandrapur (Maharashtra) India and identification of dominant genera. Indoor environment having organic substrate contains more concentration of fungal propagules as compared to outdoor environment. This fungal concentration varies by meteorological parameters like temperature and humidity. the present study air samples were collected from February 2023 to January 2024 by petriplate method and Hi air sampler method. The dominant genera of fungi found in Ramdeobaba Solvent were Rhizopus, Mucor, Alternaria, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Chaetomium, Cladosporium, Curvularia and Fusarium. Maximum fungal spore concentration was found in month of August at preparation section while minimum concentration was month May at refinery section. Comparatively the fungal spore concentration varied according to meteorological condition of every month availability of substrate at indoor places
