Clinical Implications of CT Imaging and Steroid Therapy in COVID-19 Management: A Review
The COVID-19 pandemic has posed significant challenges to healthcare systems worldwide, particularly during periods of
high infection rates. In India, the rapid rise in cases has highlighted the need for evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic
strategies. Computed tomography (CT) scans are frequently used to assess pulmonary involvement, yet indiscriminate use
may expose patients to unnecessary radiation. Similarly, corticosteroids, such as dexamethasone, play a crucial role in
mitigating the cytokine storm in moderate to severe cases, but early or improper use can lead to adverse outcomes,
including hyperglycemia and secondary infections. This review evaluates current guidelines on the judicious use of CT
imaging and steroid therapy in COVID-19, emphasizing individualized treatment decisions based on clinical severity and
oxygen saturation
THERAPEUTIC ROLE OF BRYONIA ALBA AND RHUS TOXICODENDRON (30C) IN THE MANAGEMENT OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS: A CASE SERIES
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disorder characterized by symmetrical polyarthritis, leading to pain, swelling, stiffness, and progressive disability. Despite the availability of conventional therapies, limitations remain due to side effects and incomplete remission. Homoeopathy offers individualized remedies such as Bryonia- alba and Rhus- toxicodendron, frequently prescribed based on characteristic modalities. Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic role of Bryonia -alba and Rhus- toxicodendron (30C) in patients with RA through a case series approach. Methods: This case series includes patients diagnosed with RA based on American College of Rheumatology/European League against Rheumatism (ACR/EULAR) criteria. Patients were prescribed Bryonia-alba or Rhus -toxicodendron (30C) according to individualized symptom similarity. Each case was followed for six months, and disease activity was assessed using the Disease Activity Score-28 (DAS28). Results: Clinical improvement was observed in joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, with a reduction in DAS28 scores across cases. Patients treated with Bryonia- alba reported relief in symptoms aggravated by motion and relieved by rest, while those treated with Rhus- toxicodendron demonstrated improvement in symptoms aggravated by rest and ameliorated by movement. Conclusion: The case series highlights the potential role of Bryonia- alba and Rhus- toxicodendron (30C) in the management of RA, suggesting a beneficial effect in reducing pain and disease activity. Larger controlled studies are warranted to validate these findings
IMPACT OF YOGIC PRACTICES AND NEUROMOTOR TRAINING ON REACTION TIME AND HAND–EYE COORDINATION AMONG FEMALE STUDENTS
Hand–eye coordination and reaction time are vital for both health and academic achievement in female undergraduate education college students, as they significantly influence motor learning and participation in physical activities (Schmidt & Lee, 2014). This study set out to assess how yogic practices and Neuromotor training affect these two key abilities in female undergraduate education students. A total of 48 female undergraduate students (aged 22–26 years) from education college were randomly assigned into three groups (n = 16 each): the Yogic Practice Group (YPG), the Neuromotor Training Group (NMTG), and the Control Group (CG). The YPG and NMTG participants underwent six weeks of their respective training interventions, while the CG received no structured intervention. Reaction time was assessed using the Ruler Drop Test, and hand–eye coordination was measured with the Alternate Hand Wall Toss Test. Data were analysed using ANCOVA, with pre-test scores as covariates. Results revealed that both the YPG and NMTG demonstrated significant improvements after six weeks; however, the NMTG exhibited significantly greater gains in both reaction time and hand–eye coordination compared to the YPG and CG. These findings suggest that neuromotor training is more effective than yogic practices for enhancing psychomotor performance in female undergraduate students of education
Correlation of Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction with Glycemic Parameters in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a progressive metabolic condition that contributes significantly to systemic complications, particularly those affecting the cardiovascular system. Diastolic dysfunction, an early manifestation of diabetic heart disease, often develops even in the absence of hypertension or coronary artery disease. This study investigates the frequency of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) in patients with T2DM and explores its association with various glycaemic markers. A hospital-based observational study was conducted over a 12-month period at a tertiary care center in Puducherry. A total of 100 adults with T2DM, who were normotensive and free from pre-existing cardiac conditions, were enrolled. Clinical details, glycaemic indices (FBS, PPBS, HbA1C), and echocardiographic measurements (via tissue Doppler imaging) were obtained and analyzed. LVDD was diagnosed based on established Doppler parameters. LVDD was identified in 91% of participants, with Grade I dysfunction being the most prevalent. Poor glycaemic control, longer disease duration, and elevated systolic/diastolic pressures were significantly associated with more advanced grades of dysfunction (p < 0.05). Diastolic dysfunction is highly prevalent in individuals with T2DM and shows a strong link with poor metabolic control. Routine cardiac evaluation in diabetic patients may facilitate early detection and timely intervention to reduce cardiac complications

When a culture or a society in terms of experiencing traumatic events can be called as cultural trauma. The traumatising events interact with human nature and when the basic human needs of love, security, order and connection are destabilised for the people, they get traumatised. The novel Mari by Easterine Kire talks about the naked reality of the war that is fought in Kohima in particular and Nagaland in general. Though the Nagas were not directly associated with the war but the most affected were these people. They were victimised, marginalised and the people were used for the selfish purpose in the pre and the post war situation. Though they recover from the past events, the memory of the past bring them the suffering of the trauma
ENHANCED APPROACH OF HEART DISEASE DIAGNOSIS USING MODIFIED FEATURE EXTRACTION METHOD
Heart diseases are becoming one of the leading causes of death in the arena. Consequently, the medical community has shown a great deal of interest in cardiac disease prediction. In order to assist doctors in the design of clinical procedures, a number of studies have created machine learning algorithms for the early prediction of coronary heart diseases. The function set that is chosen has a significant impact on how well such structures perform. This will be more difficult if the schooling dataset has missing values for the various capacities. It is well known that Principal Component Analysis (PCA) can be used to address the issue of missing attribute data. This study offers a method for identifying heart disease by using scientific testing data as input, identifying coronary heart disease by extracting a low dimensional characteristic subset. The suggested approach uses Modified Principal Component Analysis (M-PCA) to extract improved depth characteristics from fresh projections. PCA reduces the size of the function by assisting in the extraction of projection vectors that significantly contribute to the maximum covariance. Three datasets are analyzed to determine the impact, accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the suggested approach. The results obtained from the use of the suggested M-PCA technique are compared to earlier studies in order to demonstrate its relevance. The dataset generated by the suggested M-PCA technique was incredibly accurate
PROGNOSTIC SIGNIFICANCE OF ANGIOGENESIS AND IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL MARKERS P53 AND KI-67 IN NON-MUSCLE-INVASIVE-BLADDER CANCER
Bladder cancer (BC) remains one of the most common malignancies of the urinary tract, with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) accounting for approximately 75% of cases. Despite advances in treatment, high recurrence and progression rates pose significant clinical challenges. Angiogenesis, assessed through microvascular density (MVD) using CD34 immunohistochemical staining, along with the tumor proliferation marker Ki-67 and tumor suppressor p53, has emerged as a potential prognostic factor. This study aims to evaluate the correlation between angiogenesis, p53, Ki-67, and tumor stage, grade, and recurrence risk in NMIBC patients. Therefore, the identification and development of specific methods to diagnose and predict tumor invasion is critically important for patient management. The expression of the tumor suppressor protein p53 has been shown to have both biological and prognostic significance in urothelial carcinomas. Mutations in the TP53 gene, which encodes the p53 protein, have been previously well-studied in human cancers. Ki-67 has been investigated in the prediction of the progression of urothelial carcinoma in both the urinary bladder and the upper urinary tract, and several studies have supported this. Phytochemical Profiling and Comparative In Vitro Anti-inflammatory Evaluation of Senna italica Mill. and Phyllanthus reticulatus Poir.
Ethnopharmacological relevanceSenna italica and Phyllanthus reticulatus are widely used in traditional medicine for treating inflammation-related disorders. Their documented uses in Ayurveda and folk systems justify scientific validation.Aim of the study:To compare the phytochemical composition and the in vitro anti-inflammatory activity of ethanol extracts from S. italica and P. reticulatus using LC-MS and enzyme inhibition assays.Materials and methods:Ethanol extracts were prepared using cold maceration and sonication techniques. LC–MS profiling was conducted to identify major phytoconstituents. In vitro assays for cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase (LOX) enzyme inhibition were performed using LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophage cells. Diclofenac served as the standard.Results: LC–MS analysis revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, anthraquinones, and phenolic acids. S. italica exhibited higher COX (50.02%) and LOX (47.61%) inhibition than P. reticulatus (42.88% and 42.41%, respectively) at 100 μL. IC₅₀ values for both extracts were greater than 100 μL, while Diclofenac showed IC₅₀ values of 52.19 and 60.22 μg/mL, respectively. The activities correlated with the presence of emodin, quercetin, kaempferol, and ellagic acid.Conclusions:Both extracts demonstrated promising anti-inflammatory activity. S. italica showed greater efficacy. These findings support the ethnomedicinal use of both plants and justify their inclusion in polyherbal anti-inflammatory formulations.
 
Association between Lifestyle habits, Nutrition and Oral Cancer: A Contemporary Update
Oral cancer is a major cause of death from oral disorders worldwide and one of the worldwide major public health problems with a significant incidence and mortality rates in the developing and developed countries. Oral cancer ranks in the top three of all cancers in India, which accounts for over thirty per cent of all cancers reported in the country and oral cancer control is quickly becoming a global health priority. To reduce the burden of risk of oral cancer, a healthy diet must be optimized mainly by consuming low amount of animal-based fat red or processed red meat. Eating more quantity of vegetables, fruits and cereals are considered to be the primary origin of vitamins and fibers which is sufficient in the everyday diet to provide vitamin C, E antioxidants zinc β-carotene and folate all being an impact in the restraining of oral cancer. High consumption of healthy grains, unsaturated fats fruits and vegetables effective herbs and low use of animal-based derivatives might be the key to prevention of human cancers including the oral cancers. A public health approach should be adopted though promoting preventive measures to bring awareness among the community for taking optimum nutritive diet and practicing good lifestyle habits
WOMEN’S EXPERIENCES OF LIVING WITH A NARCISSIT: A MIXED METHODS APPROACH
The research is a mixed method research where in the researcher is exploring women’s experiences with their narcissistic partners through a qualitative framework by interviewing and analysing the 14 case studies that focus on understanding the quality of the relationship , their self-esteem and the experience of the women, data has been collected using semi structured interviews of the narcissist's women partners to explore their relationship experience with a narcissist man .The quantitative aspect focusses on understanding the relationship satisfaction and its effects on the self-esteem of the women. The participants are age is between 25 – 35 years old, and have been in a relationship with the narcissistic man for about few years. The analysis is done using the framework of thematic analysis using QD Miner Lite software. The result of study confirm that there are concerns of commitment and women described the uncertainty and lack of long-term relationship commitment from the narcissistic partner’s end. The research concurs with the findings of Trauma bonding and Feminist theory contributing to the body of the literature confirming that the partners of the narcissist men experience low relationship satisfaction, self-doubt and dark experiences while staying in the relationship with the narcissist partner
