Financial condition and performance of insured banks in the first and second quarters of 2015
Get PDFDuring the period under review, the Nigeria’s banking industry witnessed a mixed performance during the two quarters under review. The first quarter shows some
stability in most of the financial indices. However, in the second quarter, there were declines in many parameters, especially in Total Assets, Deposits and Assets
Quality. The decline was largely attributable to the fall in the price of crude oil (the main revenue earner for Nigeria) and sliding exchange rate which had impacted negatively on the banks with high exposure to the Oil and Gas sector of the economy.Structure of assets and liabilitie ; Assessment of the financial condition of insured bank

Get PDFTo better understand the mindset of Nigerians in relation to the forthcoming 2015 General Elections, the CLEEN Foundation in collaboration with the NOI Polls and with funding support from the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) conducted the 2015 Election Perception Survey. The project surveyed 5000 Nigerians across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as well as representing the 109 Senatorial Districts in Nigeria. The survey provided a very useful opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on their intention to participate in the 2015 elections and to outline their perceptions on elections security as well as the level of preparedness for the election. Get PDFThis study examines the effect of financial integration on economic growth in Nigeria. Using time series data from 1981 and 2012, the study employs autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL)bounds testing approach.
Financial development was found to have both short run and long run positive effect on economic growth in Nigeria.
