Get PDFThis paper examines the preliminary stage of fish farming which is the dredging of natural pond. It aims at enabling youths to learn how to set out at dredging natural fish pond rather than concrete ones that are expensive, to make the youth know the dimensions needed and utilize maximally the available land and set them for the stage of stocking the ponds with fish(es. The paper assesses the necessary skills needed to dredge the natural pond that is less expensive and where a piece of land can be leased and vacated later. Get PDFThe Honourable Minister and Honourable Minister of State of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development set up a 17-man committee, to develop a roadmap for the sustainable development of the mining and metals sector in Nigeria.
The committee was made up of representatives across the value chain of the sector and also consulted with other external stakeholders. While the roadmap centres around the path to sustainable development in the sector for next several years, it places special emphasis on the critical issues and challenges which must be addressed for value creation in the immediate, short, mid-term and long-term periods. The roadmap focuses on all areas that must be addressed in order to rekindle and sustain the required momentum for reforms in the sector. The roadmap is structured, as a guide, using the major hindrances to development that the mining sector faces today, and proposes solutions to overcome these challenges. It prioritises activities for implementation, includes scenarios and case studies as models for successful implementation, and monitors and envelopes these in a coherent, consensus strategy for buy-in of all stakeholders. Explaining packet delays under virtualization
No full textThis paper performs controlled experiments with two popular virtualization techniques, Linux-VServer and Xen, to examine the effects of virtualization on packet sending and receiving delays using a controlled setting allows us to independently investigate the influence on delay measurements when competing virtual machines (VMs) perform tasks that consume CPU, memory, I/O, hard disk, and network bandwidth. Our results indicate that heavy network usage from competing VMs can introduce delays as high as 100 ms to round-trip times. Furthermore, virtualization adds most of this delay when sending packets, whereas packet reception introduces little extra delay. Based on our findings, we discuss guidelines and propose a feedback mechanism to avoid measurement bias under virtualizatio
