Adult and non-formal education occupies a pride of place in the National Policy on Education in Nigeria because it provides adults opportunities to continue their education at any level and in various forms with response to individual needs and that of the society. The decline in adult and non-formal education quality still defies solution in Nigeria. This paper identifies the indispensability of quality assurance mechanism as a tool for enhancing the quality of adult and non-formal education for the sustainability of high standards. The paper stresses that quality assurance mechanism is a catalyst for academic excellence. Recommendations were made that adult and non–formal education should institutionalize quality assurance for effective monitoring, evaluation, sustenance and improvement of the programmes and government at all levels should adequately fund adult and non-formal education programmes, especially provision of modern facilities and equipment that will ensure quality in the systemIntroduction; Concept of adult and non-formal education; Concept of quality education; Concept o f Qualit y assurance m;mechanism; Conclusion; Recommendations; References

Nigeria is naturally endowed with natural resources that if properly harnessed by effective leaders can take the country to a greater height. Nigerians have not also been enjoying the dividend of democracy as expected and this has culminated to economic recession and various social vices in the country. It is on this note that this paper assesses Christian mission and training of youths, so as to ensure that leaders who know what leadership entails take the mantle of leadership in Nigeria. To achieve the aforementioned objectives, total enumeration sampling technique was employed in selecting the churches used while random sampling technique was employed in selecting twenty Baptist adherents per church totaling two hundred respondents

The stock market has been viewed as a market where most elements that feed into the development of a nation’s economy operate. In Nigeria, the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), which is one of the fastest-growing stock markets in Africa and among the emerging stock markets in the world, has recorded phenomenal growth. As of 2002, of the eight sub-Saharan markets analyzed, only Nigeria, South Africa, and Zimbabwe were considered ‘frontier markets’ and are thus, included in the IFC Global Composite Index (Magnusson and Wydick, 2002). Moreover, the recent global financial crisis led to a downward movement of stock prices and also posed a great threat to an emerging economy like Nigeria.Introduction; Review of literature; Theoretical framework, Methodology and data issues; Empirical results and discussion; Conclusion and policy implications; Reference
The Determinants of survival of listed deposit money banks (DMBs) in Nigeria
DMBs in Nigeria operate in a highly regulated sector of the Nigerian economy because of their cardinal function of mobilizing funds from surplus units to deficit units of the economy. As a result of the massive profitability potentials of the sector, huge investments are made in the industry, which call for a constant examination of their activities by investors to facilitate informed judgements. Over the years, DMBs had been facing issues of incessant non-performing loans, inability to meet customers’ withdrawals when demanded and unstable market share price among others (Soludo, 2007). These unhealthy signs pose a risk of loss of investment to investors. This clearly points to the pivotal nature of investment decisions to business success; hence investors employ different techniques for portfolio analysis and decision-making. The Altman Emerging Market score (EM score) is a model widely used by investors to predict probability of business survival. Consequently, the examination of a firms’ going concern status and its determinants is necessary because the collapse of a company would not only affect the shareholders but all its stakeholders as well as the economy in which the company operates

Language policy, as it relates to primary education, is a reinforcement of the language policy on pre-primary education which states that; “Government shall ensure that the medium of instruction (at the level of pre- primary) is principally the mother tongue or the language of the immediate community”. The position of this paper is that the provisions of language for the early years of primary education should be implemented and enforced if Nigeria wishes to experience national development. This paper will also discuss how choosing an appropriate language of instruction (mother tongue) has positive implication for education in terms of increasing access and improving quality as well as enhancing national development.The Importance of mother tongue on overall development of a child in Primary school level; Mother tongue and National development; Obstacles to the use of Indigenous language/mother tongue; The myth that parents want only in schooling; Strategies for implementation of mother tongue
An empirical Investigation
The problem of bank failure has gained prominence over the years as a result of the realization of the continuing importance of the banking sector to effective economic functioning, growth and development. The extent and depth of bank failure can be generalized or systemic in dimension. Generalized failure exists when its occurrence spread fast and cuts across in terms of the ratio of total deposits of failed institutions to total deposits of the industry. On the other hand, the problem may become systemic when its prevalence and contagious effects become endemic and pose threats to the stability of the entire system. Under this situation, public confidence in the system would be completely eroded (Abdullahi 2002). It is therefore natural that issues surrounding the operations of banks, as well as their problems would resonate among scholars and researchers.ABSTRACT 43;
