Design and Simulation Analysis of Three-Phase Transformer Less Grid-Connected PV Inverters

    Get PDF
Three-stage transformer less inverter is broadly utilized as a part of low power photovoltaic (PV) framework associated frameworks because of its little size, high proficiency and ease. At the point when no transformer is utilized as a part of a framework associated photovoltaic (PV) framework, a galvanic association between the lattice and PV exhibit exists. In these conditions, perilous spillage streams (basic mode ebbs and flows) can show up through the stray capacitance between the PV cluster and the ground. The previous, keeping in mind the end goal to make a galvanic separation between the info and the yield incorporate a transformer (obligatory in a few nations) that restrains the entire framework exhibitions as far as effectiveness, weight, size and cost. Actually, transformer less inverters don't present any separation and are described by minimal size, bring down cost and higher effectiveness (over 2% higher). In any case, the absence of transformers prompts spillage streams that can be hurtful to the human body, and in addition for the entire transformation framework uprightness. With a specific end goal to keep away from the spillage streams, different Transformer less inverters have been proposed utilizing diverse topologies to create consistent regular mode voltage. In this paper, different as of late proposed transformer less PV inverters are researched. Their exhibitions are thought about and broke down

Renewable energy have the potential to generate electricity cleanly without pollution and a lesser dependence of resources for this production of electric power by these systems sources such as solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and biomass instead anti-environmental conventional systems such as gas, coal and oil is a remarkable idea but not frequent in Algeria. Our research focuses on the study of a hybrid energy system (Photovoltaic-Wind), connected to the Electrical Network 220 kV and this by tracking the maximum power point (MPPT) for two energy sources. For this, methods based on optimization algorithms were used side PV array and Wind turbine. With regard to the wind turbine, optimization was based on an analytical approach method. The Matlab/Simulink  is used for simulated power output from Hybrid System, power delivered to or from grid and phase voltage of the inverter le

Localized Transient Stability (LTS) Method for Real-time Localized Control

    Get PDF
Very recently, a new methodology was introduced solely for the purpose of real-time localized control of transient stability. The proposed new method is based on the localized transient stability of a power system. This is completely a new idea in transient stability. In this method, the post-fault power system is represented by a two-generator localized power system at the site of each individual generator. If each of these localized power systems reaches its respective stable equilibrium, then the full power system also reaches its stable equilibrium. Therefore, in terms of real-time localized control of transient stability, if each of the localized power systems is driven to its respective stable equilibrium by local control actions with local computations using the locally measured data, then the full power system is driven to its stable equilibrium. Thus the method can be easily implemented for real-time localized control of transient stability. In this paper, the details of the mathematical formulations are presented. Some interesting test results on the well-known New England 39-bus 10-generator system are also presented in this paper to demonstrate the potential of the proposed method for use in real-time localized control of transient stability.

Harmonic Mitigation for Non-Linear Load using TSH Active Power Filter with PID Controller

    Get PDF
Electronic equipments, widely used in present living era, required to have improved power quality. When such type of equipments are connected to electric supply distribution system, they introduce non sinusoidal effect in the line current because of their non-linear relationship in voltage and current. Moreover, harmonics in the line current are also produced. With constantly growing imploration of such type of nonlinear equipments at a large scale, harmonic distortions in line current have become a significant crunch. This required some methods involving the reduction of harmonics in the line current as well as Power Factor Improvement/Correction. The primary goal of this proposed work is to reduce the harmonics produced in line current and to improve power quality of non-linear load by designing a converter with parallel processing scheme, named TSH Active power filter (Transformer less shunt active power filter) with PID controller. Here a separate dc source is employed to supply the shunt connected converter, a voltage source inverter, to remove the requirement of bulky transformer at supply end. This paper depicted the process of reduction of total harmonic distortion (THD), generated due to nonlinear characteristics of load and power factor improvement by shunt compensation. The proposed designs are modeled and simukated using Matlab simulation software

Electrostatic Field Calculations for Liquid Nitrogen Gaps Assuming a Decisive Field Factor

    Get PDF
Volume effect on breakdown voltage is well known in high voltage engineering. The breakdown voltage behavior of liquid nitrogen depending on a high field volume had been quantitatively described for gap lengths up to 20 mm. Breakdown curves for longer gap lengths up to 96 mm derived from measurements with a facility “Fatelini 2” show oscillations and partly low withstand voltages. Electrostatic field calculation for such long gaps shows remarkable high field volume differences between a model for ideal sphere and models including fixation rods. Calculation for the used setup does not show monotonically increasing high field volume depending on gap length but a maximum around 60 mm which can explain the special breakdown behavior in a “mid range” gap length. Further high field calculations were done for not yet used setups in order to make considerations, e.g. for the influence of cryostat material or diameter

A New Frequency for Offshore Wind-farm Based on Component Loss Calculation

    Get PDF
Offshore wind power plants are gaining importance in recent years, as there is adequate space available for its installation, high wind speed, no restriction on the size of turbine blades (no transportation and construction problem) and blades can be allowed to rotate at higher speed without any noise constraint, thereby increasing the rated power. However, the existing offshore wind farms face greater cost related challenges than those of onshore plants. The integration of offshore wind farm with onshore power grid is a complex issue. Feasible solutions for power transmission through cables from offshore wind farms to onshore are HVAC, line commutated HVDC  and  VSC-HVDC.  This paper analyses the various schemes for integration of offshore wind farm with onshore power grid and suggests that LFAC with submarine cable operating at 0.7 Hz is an optimal choice in obtaining better performances.

The importance of extracting power from renewable energy sources are increasing in the modern world as the power demand is increasing day by day and the non renewable energy sources are getting dried up. Solar power is a domestic source of energy and its availability throughout the year makes it a primary target to solve this crisis. It will never produce any hazardous waste or pollution. But various issues like Power quality problems and Harmonic distortion seep in due to the intermittent nature of PV system. This paper proposes a cascaded H–bridge multilevel inverter for grid connected PV system with a flyback converter. This helps to achieve maximum power point tracking and also provides isolation which will further help to increase system efficiency. The DC–DC flyback converters are cascaded to generate multilevel output voltage. Then this multilevel dc output is given to H bridge inverter to generate multilevel output. A new control algorithm is used in this paper which combines voltage–hold Perturb and observe method and modified PWM algorithm which helps to achieve the best MPPT. The proposed topology is implemented in PSIM. The Simulation and Hardware results reveal that the suggested technique is highly
