    MASTER OF ARTS in CommunicationThe use of social media has been very active for some time now and has grown tremendously as new digital platforms come to play. Social media has changed the way we interact, conduct business, foster relationships, and obtain and disseminate information. Churches have also embraced the use of social media in their communication with their congregation as any other institution to be relevant in today's digital culture. For their followers to keep informed, churches have included social media usage to provide value and effective interaction with members a thing that has completely altered how things are done. Despite social media cons like negative publicity and dissemination of fake news, digital media is definitely transforming the church and its activities with most of them across the world ultimately recognizing that connecting with their community in the digital space is crucial. Little is known about how the church makes use of social media, the skill level of users, or how evangelism has been impacted by social media use. This study’s objectives therefore were to determine the extent to which Facebook and YouTube have been adopted. Facebook and YouTube’s influence on evangelism and the challenges of Facebook and YouTube usage by Deliverance church, Embakasi and All Saints Kinoru Methodist Church in Meru. This study was based on Uses and Gratification Theory. The convergent mixed design was applied in this study. Pastors, Church Leaders and Members were the target population. This study used interviews and questionnaires as primary data collection instruments. Findings established that usage social media was more frequent on Facebook and YouTube. The primary purpose of Churches presence on social media was Online Church services, share information about upcoming events and activities, religious sermons and teachings. The Social Media platforms were utilized for the dissemination of evangelical information, Pastors' interactions with members on these platforms have provided comfort, reassurance, and spiritual guidance, especially during challenging times and that technical challenges like internet connectivity or technical glitches during live streams that disrupt worship experience. It was recommended that the Churches: ensure consistent posting schedule to keep members and the wider community engaged; clearly communicate the objectives and primary purposes of the church's social media presence to align member perceptions and expectations; Offer training sessions or workshops for church leaders and members to enhance their digital skills and keep up with evolving social media trends and technologies

    Relationship Between Transformational Leadership and Performance of Commercial State Corporations in Kenya.

    Journal ArticlePurpose of the study:The purpose of the study was to investigate the impact of transformational leadership on the performance of commercial state corporations in Kenya.Statement of the problem:Commercial state corporations in Kenya face unique challenges such as political interference and resource constraints, which complicate the relationship between leadership and performance. While transformational leadership is widely recognized for its positive impact, its effectiveness in this specific context remained unclear.Methodology:The study employed a cross-sectional survey design, targeting a population of 150 senior managers from 30 commercial state corporations. A sample of 100 managers was selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Findings: The study found that transformational leadership had a significant positive impact on the performance of commercial state corporations in Kenya. The coefficient of determination (R Square) was 0.645, indicating that transformational leadership explained 64.5% of the variation in organizational performance. All four components of transformational leadership (inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration, and idealized influence) showed positive relationships with performance. Conclusion: The study concludes that transformational leadership plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance of commercial state corporations in Kenya. Despite the challenges faced by these organizations, transformational leadership practices can significantly improve organizational outcomes. Recommendations: The study recommends that commercial state corporations in Kenya should invest in leadership development programs that emphasize transformational leadership skills. Policymakers should design initiatives to promote transformational leadership in public sector organizations, and recruitment processes should prioritize candidates with transformational leadership qualities. Further research should explore additional factors affecting performance in these organization

These strategies enable MSMEs to effectively compete in the market, reach a larger audience, and achieve business objectives. The purpose of this study is to examine the Effect Of Digital Marketing Strategies on The Customer Engagement In Micro Small And Medium Enterprises In Nairobi County, Kenya. The study employed a descriptive research design. This study use qualitative design methods. For the purposes of this study. Structured questionnaires were used to collect data and were administered to the owners of MSMES in Nairobi City County. The study employed simple random sampling. The sample size was 60. SPSS research analysis tool was used emphasizing on the Multiple Regression Analysis and the Spearman Correlation Coefficient among others to assess the magnitude and relationship and thus come up with a finding of the relationship of the independent and dependent variables. There exists a positive significant correlation between digital marketing strategies and customer engagement among the selected MSMES in Nairobi County. There exists a positive correlation between search engine optimization and customer engagement among MSMES in Nairobi County.     Master of Business Administration in Strategic ManagementIn the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many organizations failed to innovate, which contributed to their downfall. This study examined strategic innovations and NGOs' performance in Kenya, a case of Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust in Rarieda Siaya County. Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust sustained its operations pre and post-COVID-19 despite the many challenges spiking the need to evaluate if strategic innovations contributed to its performance. The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of strategic innovations on the performance of Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust. The study sought to achieve the following research objectives; To determine the influence of product innovation on the performance of Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust, establish the influence of process innovation on the performance of Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust, determine the influence of technological innovation adopted on the performance of Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust and establish the moderating influence of government policies on the relationship between strategic innovations and the performance of Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust. The study employed a descriptive and correlational research design. The study was supported by Innovation Diffusion Theory, Stakeholder Theory, and Balanced Scored card. The total population was 257 employees at Rafiki Wa Maendeleo Trust, with the sample size being 121 drawn from management and officer-level staff across Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust using stratified purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using structured questionnaires with 100 respondents and analysis aided by the SPSS version 28. The study employed construct and content validity. Reliability was tested using the Cronbach Alpha coefficient through a pre-test and the average reliability was 0.87. The data was displayed visually in the form of figures, and tables. The findings indicated a positive significant relationship between Strategic Innovations and Organizational performance implying that product innovation, process innovation and technological innovation (F= 60.826; df = 3, 96, 99; p = 0.000) were statistically significant in determining the performance of Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust. The findings of the influence of product, process and technological innovations on performance indicated a positive correlation with correlation coefficient (r) of (r=0. 799, p<0.05), (r= 0.424, p ≤ 0.05) and (r = 0.200, p ≤ 0.05) respectively. The study established that government policies did not significantly contribute to the adoption of strategic innovations within the organization and its performance, as evidenced by the F-value of 1.454 (p = 0.194) hence had no moderating influence. The study recommends that Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust should enhance stakeholder engagement and communication to improve understanding of innovation's role in growth. Secondly, the organization should promote a culture of creativity and innovation to further enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Finally, the organization should explore integrating other forms of technological innovations such as artificial intelligence to enhance its efficiency, particularly in community engagement, dissemination of information to stakeholders and receiving feedback from its beneficiaries. The research recommends further studies on strategic innovations in NGOs operating in different sectors, such as health, agriculture, and education to understand how innovation impacts performance across diverse fields. Additionally, future studies could also investigate the challenges faced by NGOs in adopting advanced technological innovations in resource-constrained environments and intellectual property management in NGOs, particularly on how organizations can protect their innovations while ensuring that they remain accessible to the communities they serve.Daystar University, School of Business and Economic

As a result, institutions should embrace strategic innovation to enhance their growth capacities and capitalize on available opportunities. The study aimed at determining the strategic innovations used by Daystar University to gain a competitive advantage especially in this business environment, which is dynamic, turbulent, and unpredictable where higher learning private institutions need to adapt new strategies to respond to the environmental changes. The Purpose of this study was to determine the effect of strategic innovation on performance of Private Chartered Christian Universities in Kenya. This research had specific objectives which included establishing how technological innovation affect the performance of Christian chartered private universities in Kenya , assessing the effect of marketing innovation on performance of Christian chartered private universities in Kenya and examining the effect of product innovation on performance of Christian chartered private universities in Kenya. The study was guided by three theories namely, Resource Based View Theory, Diffusion of Innovation theory and Dynamic Capabilities Theory. The study employed explanatory research design, a census, and a target population of sixty respondents in the top leadership positions Daystar University. The results obtained from this study will help government parastatals in providing quality services and Daystar University management in reviewing their strategies for better decision making and improved performance. Using a descriptive research design, data was analysed in terms of percentages, mean, standard deviation and tables. Charts and graphs were produced by use of SPSS version 23 for quantitative data analysis to elicit the findings considering the research questions. Based on the inferential statistics the study results showed that strategic innovations have a positive and statistical effect on performance of Daystar University (β1=0.819, p-value=0.000). The coefficient of 0.819 indicates that for every unit increase in strategic innovations, organizational performance is estimated to increase by 0.819 units. The study recommended that, technological innovation, marketing innovation and product innovation have statistically significant effect on performance of organization. The study also suggested that Christian private chartered universities should embrace strategic innovations to promptly address issues and improve service quality emphasizing the need for further research on related topics in Christian private chartered universities for a broader understanding of potential challenges and solutions in the wider context of Christian private chartered universities in Kenya.Daystar University, School of Business and Economic
