Action Plan 2023-2025: Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section
The DDRS Standing Committee created 4 Action Plans and this is the Chinese version of the plan. the Action plans are : 1. 18th Interlending and Document Supply Conference 28-30 October 2024 - 2. Maintain the RSCVD (Resource Sharing Collaborative and Voluntary Document Delivery Program Governance Communication and Monitoring) 3. Monitor current and emerging topics affecting resource sharing and support the community. 4. Review the Guidelines for best practice in Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery
Minutes of Meeting: Management of Library Associations Section, 31 May 2024
The MLAS Mid-Year Meeting was held in conjunction with the 13th Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference (EALC) which is a collaboration between the Nazarbayev University Library and the IFLA Management of Library Associations Section (MLAS) from 29 to 31 May 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The title of the conference was "Connect, Collaborate, Create: Advancing Library Associations and Partnerships to Future-proof our Profession." The MLAS Session was held from 15:00 to 17:00 (Astana Time) on 29th, 30th and 31st May 2024. The Meeting was held in hybrid format(In-person and Online) and open to MLAS members as observers. Among the matters discussed at the meeting include the following: Updates from IFLA Governing Board; the MLAS Open Session was held on 17th May in collaboration with the Lebanese Library Association (LLA), the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA); future MLAS collaboration; Co-option of MLAS SC Members; Programme of Mentoring; Building Strong Library Associations; updates on Advocacy Impact Evaluation (AIE) Project; IFLA Draft Strategy Survey; updates on NPSIG and WILSIG
Get into WIPO (2024 edition)
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), based in Geneva, is the United Nations agency responsible for copyright and other intellectual property issues. Established in 1967, its official mission is to lead the development of a balanced and effective international intellectual property (IP) system that enables innovation and creativity for the benefit of all.
IFLA has official observer status at WIPO, together with the International Council on Archives (ICA), the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and around 250 other non-governmental organisations. For libraries, WIPO is not only the primary focus of efforts to promote better copyright laws internationally, but also a potential partner in supporting the library field. Additionally, its meetings provide a good opportunity to meet with senior national officials who may otherwise be difficult to engage with
