Importancia de la rehabilitación de plantaciones tradicionales de cacao (Theobroma cacao L.), para mejorar el rendimiento en el Ecuador
Ecuadorian cocoa is an important agricultural export product, particularly flavoured cocoa, which contributes significantly to the world market. Production in the country takes place in the areas of Los Ríos, Manabí, Guayas and Esmeraldas. The main objective of the research is to determine the importance of rehabilitating traditional cocoa plantations (Theobroma cacao L.) in Ecuador. The results indicate that Ecuadorian cocoa is a crucial product due to its high quality and flavour, making it an important part of the country's economy. The de-tapping and re-stumping process helps develop new shoots and reduces the risks of witch hazel. The rehabilitation of traditional cocoa crops offers benefits such as full restoration of production, income diversification, optimal management and structural integrity. The conclusions demonstrate that Ecuadorian domestic cocoa is important for its economic, social and cultural impact. It generates income for farmers and provides work for families, especially in rural areas. Ecuadorian cocoa is recognised worldwide for its exceptional quality, flavour and aroma. Estudio de competitividad para la toma de decisiones en la Ferretería Colombati, periodo 2023.
This study analyzes business competitiveness in the Colombati Hardware Store, located in Babahoyo, Ecuador, during the period 2023, with the aim of improving strategic decision making. The research and analysis process was carried out under the mixed approach (quantitative-qualitative), and an exploratory and descriptive design. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats were identified through a SWOT analysis, interviews and surveys applied to clients and managers. The results reveal that the company faces administrative and financial shortcomings, affecting its internal management and customer satisfaction. A lack of satisfaction evaluation, staff training and digital marketing strategies was observed, which limits its positioning and commercial growth. To improve your competitiveness, it is recommended to strengthen administrative management, implement marketing strategies, improve customer service and optimize strategic planning based on quantitative and qualitative data. Se identificaron fortalezas, debilidades, oportunidades y amenazas mediante un análisis FODA, entrevistas y encuestas aplicadas a clientes y directivos. Los resultados revelan que la empresa enfrenta falencias administrativas y financieras, afectando su gestión interna y la satisfacción del cliente. Se observó una falta de evaluación de satisfacción, capacitación del personal y estrategias de marketing digital, lo que limita su posicionamiento y crecimiento comercial. Para mejorar su competitividad, se recomienda fortalecer la gestión administrativa, implementar estrategias de marketing, mejorar la atención al cliente y optimizar la planeación estratégica basada en datos cuantitativos y cualitativos. Con estas acciones, la empresa podrá consolidarse en el mercado ferretero, incrementar su rentabilidad y asegurar su sostenibilidad a largo plazo
Impacto del cambio climático en la producción convencional y orgánica del banano (Musa x paradisiaca) en Ecuador
In the elaboration of the present investigation "Impact of climate change on conventional and organic production of banana (Musa x paradisiaca) in Ecuador, the production of both systems in the country is of great relevance for its contribution to the economy, therefore, the effect of climate change represents a significant challenge, due to the variations in temperature, precipitation and incidence of external climatic events. The general objective is to analyze the impact of climate change on conventional and organic production of banana (Musa x paradisiaca) in Ecuador. The methodology is determined to be based on gathering information from current documents, scientific articles, virtual libraries and website. The results prioritize the impact of climatic factors such as temperature, winds, precipitation and humidity affect the yields of banana crops, therefore, the adoption of sustainable strategies in both conventional and organic production systems is important, the use of efficient bioinputs and technologies, improving the resilience of the banana sector. In conclusion, conventional banana production offers job stability, including social development for workers, and the organic system is more profitable from an economic perspective due to the ecological approach and the growing demand for sustainable products. El objetivo general es analizar el impacto del cambio climático en la producción convencional y orgánica de banano (Musa x paradisiaca) en Ecuador. La metodología se determina que se basó en reunir información de documentos actuales, artículos científicos, bibliotecas virtuales y sitio web. Los resultados priorizan el impacto de los factores climáticos como temperatura, vientos, precipitación y humedad afectan el rendimientos del cultivo de banano, por lo cual, la adopción de estrategias sostenibles en ambos sistemas de producción convencional y orgánico es importante el empleo de bioinsumos y tecnologías eficientes, mejorando la resiliencia del sector bananero. En conclusion la producción de banano convencional ofrece estabilidad laboral incluyendo el desarrollo social de los trabajadores, y el sistema orgánico es más rentable desde una perspectiva económica debido al enfoque ecológico y la creciente demanda de productos sostenibles, por lo cual, es esencial la implementación de servicios agroclimatológicos y sistemas de alerta temprana, fortaleciendo la competitividad en el mercado global
Caracterización del porcentaje del centro blanco y su presencia a lo largo de la panícula en cultivares de arroz.
The present study aimed to characterize the percentage of white centers and their distribution along the panicle in different rice cultivars, with the aim of identifying those varieties with a lower incidence of this defect and, therefore, of higher commercial quality. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and its 95% probability distribution were used, evaluating 81 genetic materials with five replicates each. Observational techniques and quantitative analysis were used for data collection, in order to determine the proportion of grains with white centers and their location within the panicle. The results showed that cultivar FL-110/G-112 obtained the highest number of grains per panicle section with 49.87, while cultivar G-111/G112 achieved a lower value with 21.8 grains per section. Cultivar G-113/G-FI-106 (25.92%) achieved the highest average percentage of white centers per section; while cultivar L-6-1 achieved a lower value with 3.06% white centers per section. Cultivar G-113/G-FI-106 obtained a higher value with 24.99% white centers per panicle; while cultivar L-6-1 achieved a lower value with 3.02% white centers per panicle. Cultivar G-113/G-FI-106 obtained a higher value than average with 8.34% of grains with white centers; while cultivar TAIWAN-J2 achieved a lower value with 1.29% of grains with white centers. The highest average was found in the center of the grain with 3.98% white centers; The lowest averages were obtained in the initial and final sections, with 2.76% and 2.7% white center, respectively. Twenty cultivars were selected, presenting low values of between 3.02% and 6.66% white center per panicle. Se utilizó el análisis de varianza (ANOVA) y el análisis de comparación de medias de Tukey (p <0,05), evaluando 81 materiales genéticos con cinco repeticiones cada uno. Para la recolección de datos se emplearon técnicas de observación y análisis cuantitativo, con el fin de determinar la proporción de granos con centro blanco y su ubicación dentro de la panícula. Los resultados permitieron evidenciar que el cultivar FL-110/G-112 obtuvo el mayor número de granos por tramo de panícula con 49,87, mientras que el cultivar G-111/G112 alcanzó un valor menor con 21,8 granos por tramo. El cultivar G-113/G-FI-106 (25.92 %) alcanzó el mejor promedio de porcentaje de centro blanco por tramo; mientras que el cultivar L-6-1 alcanzó un valor menor con 3.06 % de centro blanco por tramo. El cultivar G-113/G-FI-106 obtuvo un valor superior con 24.99 porciento de centro blanco por panícula; mientras que el cultivar L-6-1 alcanzó un valor menor con 3.02 porciento de centro blanco por panícula. El cultivar G-113/G-FI-106 obtuvo un valor superior de la media con 8.34 % de granos con centro blanco; mientras que el cultivar TAIWAN-J2 alcanzó un valor menor con 1.29 % de granos con centro blanco. El promedio más alto se presentó en el centro del grano con 3.98 % de centro blanco; mientras que en la parte inicial y final se obtuvo los promedios más bajos con 2.76 % y 2.7 % de centro blanco, respectivamente. 20 cultivares fueron seleccionados, presentando valores bajos de entre 3,02 y 6,66% de centro blanco por panícula. En este estudio se cumplió la hipótesis alternativa, misma que se definió de la siguiente manera: El centro blanco de los granos de arroz es diferente en al menos un cultivar

La lavadora y lubricadora Emiliano ubicada en la parroquia Isla de Bejucal cantón Baba, ha sido un referente local desde el 2011, ofreciendo servicios de lavados de vehículos, lubricación y mantenimiento básico. A pesar de su calidad y reputación , enfrenta desafíos significativamente en un mercado altamente digitalizado, como la limitada visibilidad en línea y la falta de estrategias de marketing digital efectivas , el proyecto analiza como las herramientas digitales pueden mejorar su posicionamiento y competitividad entre las principales problemáticas destacan el desconocimiento en la gestión de redes sociales, la baja interacción con clientes en línea y una infraestructura que requieren modernización. Estos factores limitan la capacidad de la empresa en atraer nuevos clientes y fidelizar a los actuales se propuso las estrategias como Facebook Instagram y tiktok la implementación del SEO y SEM y la creación de contenidos relevantes para captar y retener clientes además la capacitación del personal en las herramientas digitales resulta esencial para garantizar una ejecución efectiva de estas estrategias, las encuestas revelaron que en un 60% de los clientes está totalmente satisfecho, lo que refuerza la necesidad de estas mejoras
Prácticas inclusivas y su influencia en la convivencia escolar de estudiantes de 5to EGB en la Escuela San José - Babahoyo, periodo 2024-2025
Inclusive practices include strategies and adjustments that teachers implement in their teaching methodology to address diversity in the classroom. Therefore, the main objective of this project is to determine the incidence of inclusive practices in the school coexistence of 5th EGB students at San José School - Babahoyo, period 2024-2025. The methodology used in this research follows a mixed approach, with a descriptive, field and documentary research, with a non-experimental design, involving a sample of 1 teacher and 35 students of said educational institution. For data collection, techniques such as the survey, conducted through a questionnaire of 10 closed questions for students, as well as the interview, conducted with a questionnaire of 5 open questions, addressed to the tutor teacher, are used. In conclusion, inclusive practices adapted to the needs of each student contribute to the creation of a school environment in which all students can interact positively, promoting better coexistence and strengthened academic performance. La metodología empleada en esta investigación sigue un enfoque mixto, con una investigación descriptiva, de campo y documental, con un diseño no experimental, que involucra a una muestra de 1 docente y 35 estudiantes de dicha institución educativa. Para la recolección de datos, se utilizan técnicas como la encuesta, realizada mediante un cuestionario de 10 preguntas cerradas para los estudiantes, así como la entrevista, realizada con un cuestionario de 5 preguntas abiertas, dirigidas al docente tutor. En conclusión, las prácticas inclusivas adaptadas a las necesidades de cada estudiante contribuyen a la creación de un ambiente escolar en el que todos los estudiantes puedan interactuar de manera positiva, promoviendo una mejor convivencia y un rendimiento académico fortalecido. Morfología y control de la maleza echinochloa colunum en el Ecuador
Echinochloa colonum, also known as colonum grass, is a plant species that aggressively damages various agricultural crops, primarily in humid areas. This type of plant species, considered a weed, is distinguished by its unique ability to adapt to different climatic conditions. The objective of this study was to analyze the morphology and control methods of E. colonum in Ecuadorian agricultural crops in order to develop integrated management strategies that optimize crop productivity and promote environmental sustainability. The methodology developed to prepare this document was based on a non-experimental, bibliographic, descriptive study. To this end, information was compiled based on relevant data from primary sources such as scientific articles, journals, and e-books, which provided diverse ideas and opinions, enabling an analysis of the problem at hand. According to the results obtained, Echinochloa colonun has a morphology adaptable to different climatic and soil conditions, highlighting its ability to germinate in different soil and climate conditions. It is also noted that in Ecuadorian agricultural activities, this type of weed primarily affects rice, soybeans, and corn crops. El objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar la morfología y los métodos de control de E. Colonum en los cultivos agrícolas de Ecuador para desarrollar estrategias de manejo integrado que optimicen la productividad de los cultivos y fomenten la sostenibilidad ambiental. La metodología desarrollada para elaborar el presente documento se basó en un estudio no experimental, bibliográfico, descriptivo: para ello, se recopiló la información basada en datos relevantes de fuentes primarias como artículos científicos, revistas y libros virtuales que aportaron diferentes ideas y opiniones logrando analizar la problemática planteada. Según los resultados obtenidos, se tiene que el echinochloa colonun tiene una morfología adaptable a diferentes condiciones climáticas y de suelo, destacándose la capacidad para germinar en diferentes condiciones de suelo y climas, y precisando que en las actividades agrícolas ecuatorianos este tipo de maleza afecta esencialmente los cultivos de arroz, soya y maíz. En conclusión, el echinochloa colonun según su morfología se adapta bien a cualquier clase de cultivo, apoyado en su robusto sistema radicular fibroso y hojas muy eficientes para realizar una adecuada fotosíntesis, siendo esto una competitiva ventaja para disputar alimentos, agua y luz con cualquier tipo de cultivo comercial
Ingresos y gastos operativos de la Empresa Babahoyo Al Dia “Baldía S.A.S.” en el periodo 2022 - 2023.
The company Babahoyo al Día “Baldía S.A.S.” experienced financial difficulties between 2022 and 2023 due to poor management of revenues and operating expenses. The lack of an effective commercial strategy and increased competition caused a 24.38% reduction in revenue. In addition, the economic crisis affected consumers' purchasing capacity, further reducing sales. On the other hand, operating expenses increased by 6.43%, mainly due to inefficient management of internal resources, increased costs of raw materials, infrastructure maintenance and administrative expenses. This created a financial gap that compromised the sustainability of the company. Financial analysis reveals that the gross profit margin decreased from 10.23% in 2022 to 8.87% in 2023, while the operating margin fell from 4.63% to 1.31%. To reverse this trend, it is recommended to implement strict expense control, optimize financial planning and diversify income sources. In addition, it is essential to strengthen commercial strategies and carry out internal audits to correct inefficiencies. Además, la crisis económica afectó la capacidad de compra de los consumidores, disminuyendo aún más las ventas. Por otro lado, los gastos operativos aumentaron un 6.43%, principalmente debido a un manejo ineficiente de recursos internos, aumento de costos de materia prima, mantenimiento de infraestructura y gastos administrativos. Esto generó una brecha financiera que compromete la sostenibilidad de la empresa. El análisis financiero revela que el margen de utilidad bruta se redujo del 10.23% en 2022 al 8.87% en 2023, mientras que el margen operativo cayó del 4.63% al 1.31%. Para revertir esta tendencia, se recomienda implementar un control estricto de gastos, optimizar la planificación financiera y diversificar las fuentes de ingresos. Además, es fundamental fortalecer estrategias comerciales y realizar auditorías internas para corregir ineficiencias. Efecto del uso de la gonadotropina coriónica equina sobre la calidad extrínseca e intrínseca del huevo de codorniz
This research was carried out with the aim of evaluating the effect of the hormone equine chorionic gonadotropin on the extrinsic and intrinsic quality of quail eggs. This research was carried out at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, in the Veterinary Medicine Career within the Seedbed Project "Evaluation of the Productive Characteristics of Quail (Coturnix coturnix) in the Tropics", with the following objectives: Identify the extrinsic quality of the quail egg through the variation characteristics; weight, shell thickness, color and shape index and Determine the intrinsic quality of the quail egg through the analysis of yolk index, albumen index, yolk color, Haugh Units. In which the experimental units will be distributed with a completely random design with three treatments versus a control, with two repetitions, giving a total of eight experimental units which will be made up of 12 animal units, with a total of 96 animals in the experiment, where the treatment with the highest egg weight was T2 with 12.22 g compared to T3 with 11.58 g, T0 with 11.50 g and T1 with 11.43 g. The treatment with the best shell thickness was T3 with 0.22 mm compared to T1 with 0.21 mm, T0 with 0.19 mm and T2 with 0.18 mm. The most common egg color was T1, representing a mottled light brown, demonstrating that this hormone had no significant effect on the quail egg. Regarding egg morphology, the best treatment was T0, with 80.75%, compared to T3 with 80.19%, T2 with 80.17% and T1 with 78.34%. On the other hand, within the intrinsic characteristics of the quail egg, the treatment that obtained the highest yolk index was T2 with 32.55 mm, compared to T3 with 32.03 mm, T1 with 28.20 and T0 with 27.79. In the albumen index, treatment T2 with 8.81 mm was the one that obtained the highest index in the white, compared to the other treatments T1 with 8.32 mm, T0 with 7.74 mm, T3 with 7.55 mm. Regarding the yolk color, the treatment that obtained the best color was T3 with 5.15, followed by T2 with 4.72, T1 with 4.57 and T0 with 4.43. In Hugh Units, treatment T2 with 89.87% was the highest percentage, compared to treatments T0 with 89.17%, T1 with 88.96% and T3 with 88.91%.

En el cual las unidades experimentales se distribuirán con un diseño completamente al azar con tres tratamientos frente a un testigo, con dos repeticiones, dando un total de ocho unidades experimentales las cuales estarán conformadas por 12 unidades animales, con un total de 96 animales en el experimento, donde el tratamiento que mayor peso del huevo tuvo fue T2 con 12,22 g en comparación con el T3 con 11,58 g, T0 con 11,50 g y el T1 con 11,43 g. El tratamiento que mejor grosor de la cáscara obtuvo fue el T3 con 0,22 mm en comparación con el T1 con 0,21mm, T0 con 0,19 mm y T2 con 0,18 mm. El color del huevo más común fue el T1 representando el café claro moteado demostrando que esta hormona no tuvo un efecto significativo en el huevo de codorniz. En cuanto al índice morfológico del huevo el mejor tratamiento fue el T0 con 80,75 %, en comparación con el T3 con 80,19%, T2 con 80,17% y T1 con 78,34%. Por otro lado, dentro de las características intrínsecas del huevo de codorniz el tratamiento que mayor índice de yema obtuvo fue el T2 con 32,55 mm, en comparación con el T3 con 32,03 mm, T1con 28,20 y T0 con 27,79. En el índice del albumen el tratamiento T2 con 8,81 mm fue el que obtuvo mayor índice en la clara, frente a los otros tratamientos T1 con 8,32 mm, T0 con 7,74 mm, T3 con 7,55 mm. Respecto al color de la yema, el tratamiento que mejor color obtuvo fue el de T3 con 5,15 , seguido por el T2 con 4,72, T1 con 4,57 y T0 con 4,43. En Unidades Hugh, el tratamiento T2 con 89,87% fue el porcentaje mayor, frente a los tratamientos T0 con 89,17%, T1 con 88,96% y T3 con 88,91%.
