Convenio específico Banco Hipotecario del Uruguay y Fundación para el Apoyo a la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y de Administración
La Fundación de Ciencias Económicas y de Administración, brindará apoyo técnico en el proceso de concurso para proveer un cargo de Gerente División Administración General. El apoyo técnico comprometido se detalla en la Cláusula Segunda del presente documento. La participación de los docentes, a través de la Fundación, se circunscribirá a la elaboración, aplicación y corrección de una prueba de conocimientos, con enfoque teórico-práctico, la que consta de dos partes a saber: a) conocimientos específicos sobre el tema de planificación y control al máximo nivel corporativo; b) demostración de habilidades y destrezas gerenciales en la gestión de la gerencia a la cual se postula. La Fundación designará un docente en particular que conformará el Tribunal del concurso respectivo en carácter de miembro experto, y sujeto a las disposiciones del Reglamento general de ascensos (RE.RHH.07), de cuyo contenido se tomó conocimiento

2.1 El objeto del presente contrato es regular los términos y condiciones de acuerdo a los cuales ANDE financiará al Equipo Emprendedor, así como las obligaciones y derechos de las partes y las relaciones entre las mismas en concordancia con las Bases del Programa una Validación de Ideas de Negocios 2023. 2.2 Por su parte, el Equipo Emprendedor se obliga a ejecutar en tiempo y forma las actividades del Proyecto que hubiera asumido, en los plazos y condiciones establecidas en el mismo, respetando y cumpliendo con la metodología, las pautas y las políticas acordadas, y de acuerdo con las instrucciones que ANDE le imparta
Automatic eyes and nose detection using curvature analysis
In the present work we propose a method for detecting the nose and eyes position when we observe a scene that contains a face. The main goal of the proposed technique is that it capable of bypassing the 3D explicit mapping of the face and instead take advantage of the information available in the Depth gradient map of the face. To this end we will introduce a simple false positive rejection approach restricting the distance between the eyes, and between the eyes and the nose. The main idea is to use nose candidates to estimate those regions where is expected to find the eyes, and vice versa. Experiments with Texas database are presented and the proposed approach is testes when data presents different power of noise and when faces are in different positions with respect to the camera
Quality of Experience: From Assessment to Application (Dagstuhl Seminar 15022)
This report provides an overview of the program, discussions and outcomes of Dagstuhl Seminar 15022 “Quality of Experience: From Assessment to Application”, which took place from 4– 7 January 2015 at Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics. The seminar and the challenges that were addressed have their roots in the earlier Dagstuhl Seminars 09192 “From Quality of Service to Quality of Experience” and 12181 “Quality of Experience: From User Perception to Instrumental Metrics”. The main goal of the seminar was to strengthen and go beyond the current understanding on Quality of Experience (QoE) and its assessment, in order to start tackling the logical yet highly challenging next steps: to move from assessment to application and to translate insights on QoE and knowledge from this research field into forms of economic and/or societal value. This report contains the personal statements and main challenges brought forward by the participants, who were on the fly clustered into six main discussion topics. We here report on the discussions and outcomes from the group work, organized around these bottom-up generated topics: “QoE theory and modeling”, “QoE methodologies”, “User factors and QoE”, “QoE management”, “Monetization of QoE” and “QoE in new domains”
A multimodal approach for percussion music transcription from audio and video
Trabajo aceptado y presentado en Progress in Pattern Recognition, Image Analysis, Computer Vision, and Applications. CIARP 2015.A multimodal approach for percussion music transcription from audio and video recordings is proposed in this work. It is part of an ongoing research effort for the development of tools for computeraided analysis of Candombe drumming, a popular afro-rooted rhythm from Uruguay. Several signal processing techniques are applied to automatically extract meaningful information from each source. This involves detecting certain relevant objects in the scene from the video stream. The location of events is obtained from the audio signal and this information is used to drive the processing of both modalities. Then, the detected events are classified by combining the information from each source in a feature-level fusion scheme. The experiments conducted yield promising results that show the advantages of the proposed method. Flujo de carga probabilístico para estudios de planificación de mediano plazo de la red de transmisión
Este trabajo presenta una herramienta de flujo de carga probabilístico desarrollada en UTE, para realizar estudios de planificación de mediano plazo en redes de trasmisión con gran penetración de generación distribuida. La herramienta EPPTRA presentada se basa en la selección y resolución del flujo de cargas AC mediante PSS/E de un conjunto de casos representativos de los patrones de flujo de potencia esperables en la red para un año de estudio. En el trabajo se describe la metodología empleada para seleccionar los casos representativos y asignarles probabilidades, a partir de un gran conjunto de casos, resultado de una simulación energética. Como caso de aplicación de esta herramienta se analiza el caso base de la red de trasmisión uruguaya prevista para el año 2016, y una alternativa de proyecto de conexión de un generador eólico
Beef quality parameters estimation using ultrasound and color images
9th IAPR conference on Pattern Recognition in BioinformaticsBackground: Beef quality measurement is a complex task with high economic impact. There is high interest in obtaining an automatic quality parameters estimation in live cattle or post mortem. In this paper we set out to obtain beef quality estimates from the analysis of ultrasound (in vivo) and color images (post mortem), with the measurement of various parameters related to tenderness and amount of meat: rib eye area, percentage of intramuscular fat and backfat thickness or subcutaneous fat. Proposal: An algorithm based on curve evolution is implemented to calculate the rib eye area. The backfat thickness is estimated from the profile of distances between two curves that limit the steak and the rib eye, previously detected. A model base in Support Vector Regression (SVR) is trained to estimate the intramuscular fat percentage. A series of features extracted on a region of interest, previously detected in both ultrasound and color images, were proposed. In all cases, a complete evaluation was performed with different databases including: color and ultrasound images acquired by a beef industry expert, intramuscular fat estimation obtained by an expert using a commercial software, and chemical analysis. Conclusions: The proposed algorithms show good results to calculate the rib eye area and the backfat thickness measure and profile. They are also promising in predicting the percentage of intramuscular fat
Modeling onset spectral features for discrimination of drum sounds

CIARP 2015Motivated by practical problems related to ongoing research on Candombe drumming (a popular afro-rooted rhythm from Uruguay), this paper proposes an approach for recognizing drum sounds in audio signals that models for sound classification the same audio spectral features employed in onset detection. Among the reported experiments involving recordings of real performances, one aims at finding the predominant Candombe drum heard in an audio file, while the other attempts to identify those temporal segments within a performance when a given sound pattern is played. The attained results are promising and suggest many ideas for future research. Wideband resistive voltage divider for a standard wattmeter
8th Brazilian Congress on Metrology (Metrologia 2015), Bento Gonçalves, RS, Brazil, 29 nov - 2 dic., 2015.This work shows the state of development of resistive voltage dividers for use in a standard wattmeter that covers a frequency range from 50 Hz to 100 kHz. The voltage ranges go from 4 V to 1024 V with an expected accuracy of 20 μV/V and 60 μrad/kHz. Nonlinear influences are studied and different methods to compensate the effect of stray capacitances are analysed, as well as the measurement systems used to calibrate these device
Revenue sharing in network utility maximization problems
Publicado en Netnomics v. 17, 2016Alliances arise in a wide variety of domains, when a group of countries, political parties, people or other entities agree to work together because of shared interests or aims. They make sense, if the output obtained is somehow better than the outcome of acting individually. Revenue or cost sharing is key when determining if individuals are better off by contributing to an alliance or not. In our alliance each member owns a unique resource –or set of resources–, which is given to the alliance. The alliance sells services, which are supported thanks to one or a set of these resources. We focus on alliances that sell services in such a way that the total revenue of the alliance is maximized. We show that this kind of problems can be modeled through a Network Utility Maximization problem. We subsequently explore the problem of revenue sharing among the members of the alliance. Such a problem is a complex one since the interests of all participants must be ensured and correct incentives must be provided. We formally formulate the members’ interests through a set of properties the revenue sharing method should verify. We then discuss the existing methods for revenue sharing and conclude that none of them verifies the needed properties for the case of a revenue maximizing alliance. We finally propose a revenue sharing method based on projecting the contributions of each member of the alliance into an economic stable set. Through an exhaustive simulative study we conclude that our method provides, in addition to economic stability, fairness among members and the right incentives to them. Through our analysis Network Service Provider alliances, which sell quality-assured data transport services, are considered as an application example
