Übergänge ins Pflegeheim - Ursachen, Prozesse und Konsequenzen
Hintergrund:

Surface Modification of Magnetoactive Elastomers by Laser Micromachining
It has been recently demonstrated that laser micromachining of magnetoactive elastomers is a very convenient method for fabricating dynamic surface microstructures with magnetically tunable properties, such as wettability and surface reflectivity. In this study, we investigate the impact of the micromachining process on the fabricated material’s structural properties and its chemical composition. By employing scanning electron microscopy, we investigate changes in size distribution and spatial arrangement of carbonyl iron microparticles dispersed in the polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) matrix as a function of laser irradiation. Based on the images obtained by a low vacuum secondary electron detector, we analyze modifications of the surface topography. The results show that most profound modifications occur during the low-exposure (8 J/cm^2) treatment of the surface with the laser beam. Our findings provide important insights for developing theoretical models of functional properties of laser-sculptured microstructures from magnetoactive elastomers
Surface Treatment of Additively Manufactured Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) by Centrifugal Disc Finishing Process: Identification of the Key Parameters
Polyetheretherketone is a promising material for implants due to its good mechanical properties and excellent biocompatibility. Its accessibility to a wide range of applications is facilitated by the ability to process it with an easy-to-use manufacturing process such as fused filament fabrication. The elimination of disadvantages associated with the manufacturing process, such as a poor surface quality, is a main challenge to deal with. As part of the mass finishing process, centrifugal disc finishing has demonstrated good results in surface optimization, making it a promising candidate for the post-processing of additively manufactured parts. The objective of this study is to identify the key parameters of the centrifugal disc finishing process on the waviness of additively manufactured PEEK specimens, which has not been investigated previously. The waviness of the specimen was investigated by means of confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), while weight loss was additionally tracked. Six parameters were investigated: type, amount and speed of media, use of compound, amount of water and time. Type of media, time and speed were found to significantly influence waviness reduction and weight loss. Surface electron microscopy images demonstrated the additional effects of deburring and corner rounding. Results on previous studies with specimens made of metal showed similar results. Further investigation is required to optimize waviness reduction and polish parts in a second post-processing step
Enhancing Expert Interviews: Insights from Information Systems and Digital Transformation Research
Expert interviews, a commonly employed qualitative data collection procedure in information systems (IS) research, lack consistent conceptualization. This paper aims to address this gap by providing a conceptual framework and comprehensive guidelines for a rigorous implementation of expert interviews, supported by real-world examples. After a systematic selection of method-relevant literature, a thematic analysis of twenty-eight articles, books, and book chapters is conducted to elicit the distinctive characteristics and rigorous conduct of expert interviews. Validation is provided by analyzing nineteen studies published in important IS outlets that use expert interviews. A particular focus is on a subset of five studies that cover digital transformation topics. The analysis reveals expert interviews’ flexibility as data collection procedure and shows the wide range of application opportunities for IS researchers. Lastly, we discuss theoretical and practical implications of our findings to enhance the rigor, systematic use, and relevance of expert interviews in IS research

Dynamic Stick-Slip Models based on Continuous and Discontinuous Friction Characteristics
This paper presents the implementation of a recently developed continuous second-order dynamic friction model (FrD2) in the commercial multibody system software Simpack, where it is evaluated against Simpack's discontinuous friction model for stick-slip applications in terms of performance. A method for adapting parameters from the well-known LuGre model to the FrD2 model is introduced. The FrD2 model accurately captures complex friction phenomena, including the Stribeck effect, which is essential for simulating friction-induced vibrations. Tested on a festoon cable system and a belt model, the FrD2 model demonstrates itself as a robust alternative to both the LuGre and Simpack models, especially for applications requiring continuous transitions between static and dynamic friction states, long-term stiction effects, and other complex friction behaviors
BERT-based Annotation of Oral Texts Elicited via Multilingual Assessment Instrument for Narratives
We investigate how NLP can help annotate the structure and complexity of oral narrative texts elicited via the Multilingual Assessment Instrument for Narratives (MAIN). MAIN is a theory-based tool designed to evaluate the narrative abilities of children who are learning one or more languages from birth or early in their development. It provides a standardized way to measure how well children can comprehend and produce stories across different languages and referential norms for children between 3 and 12 years old. MAIN has been adapted to over ninety languages and is used in over 65 countries. The MAIN analysis focuses on story structure and story complexity which are typically evaluated manually based on scoring sheets. We here investigate the automation of this process using BERT-based classification which already yields promising results
