Kryptowährung als Alternative zu herkömmlichem Geld – Aus ökologischer Sicht

    No full text

Sole Searching in Germany: Customer Journeys and the Effect of AI Marketing Tools on Footwear Purchases

    No full text
This thesis examines the effects Artificial Intelligence Marketing has on German customers and their Customer Journey. As Artificial Intelligence is gaining in significance in our lives, it is also starting to make its way into marketing, though it is still in its early stages here. Compared to other countries, like China and the USA, Germany's adaptation of Artificial Intelligence solutions is limited. Current literature shows that the opinions of customers on Artificial Intelligence Marketing in Germany are still rather unexplored. Semi-structured interviews with six young adults from Germany were conducted to investigate their Customer Journey for footwear purchases. Additionally they were introduced to Artificial Intelligence Marketing and their acceptance was analyzed by using the Technology Acceptance Model. The analysis of the results shows that the factor of assistance through Artificial Intelligence Marketing is appreciated by most who do not know what they want before they start their Customer Journey. It is concluded that the actual usage and how this affects German Generation Z customers is dependent on their Customer Journey and how they prefer to shop

Should forest enterprises formalize? Insight from a multi-dimensional characterization of informal baobab enterprises

    No full text
Knowledge of the structure and characteristics of informal forest enterprises is critical to determining the most appropriate course of action for their development and formalization. This study characterizes and develops a typology of informal microenterprises in the Malawian baobab processing sector; and assesses factors influencing their entry into the informal sector. Drawing on the analysis of firm-level data from 305 informal baobab pro- cessors, cost and complexity of registration, smallness (scale) of the business, and necessity-driven motivations were identified as key factors influencing informality. Coupling principal component and cluster analyses, three typologies of informal microenterprises were identified and characterized namely; high performance-survival phase enterprises (type 1), moderate performance-survival phase enterprises (type 2), and low performance-start-up phase enterprises (type 3). Annual net profit (earnings), firm age, and the extent of adoption of formal systems and controls explained the inherent segmentation. The segmentation suggests a dualism compromising of an upper- and lower-tier enterprises characterized by strong involuntary entry into the informal forest sector. For policy implications, we argue that the upper-tier enterprises (types 1 and 2) be targeted with business development programmes to promote their growth while, the lower-tier (type 3) targeted with skills development and social support

Decades in Deadlock: Analysis of the Intergovernmental Discourse among Middle Eastern States about a Weapons of Mass Destruction-Free Zone in their Region

    No full text
Despite intense international efforts to make progress regarding the establishment of a Middle Eastern Weapons of Mass Destruction-Free Zone (ME WMDFZ), governments have spent decades in deadlock on the issue. This thesis examined the intergovernmental discourse among Middle Eastern states about the proposed zone by analyzing the prevalent topics and sentiments of Middle Eastern governments in the discourse. The thesis applied a quantitative approach, in which documents from an international context about a ME WMDFZ were analyzed using computational text analysis and interpreted by drawing on models of political discourse analysis. The conducted analysis contributed to close a research gap related to the evolution of the discourse on a ME WMDFZ and explored the application of computational text analysis to political documents
