Get PDFThis paper illustrates a research project aimed at cataloguing the illuminators’ subscriptions and investigating the figure of those illuminators who are also copyists, from an interdisciplinary perspective in which the findings of art historians are combined with paleographic investigations. The aim is to study the appearance, the location of these signatures, the motives and circumstances of their affixation, and the possible conditioning operated by the context, i.e., by the book type, patronage or tradition. With this in mind, nine categories are identified which classify the available data, and examples are presented of both illuminators who are exclusively artists and calligraphers or decorators who combine, with different articulations and outcomes, the two skills. The Role of Product Placement in Serial Storytelling.
Get PDFIn the last decades, TV series have increasingly become an ideal platform for product placement initiatives due to their relatively quick production process and the variety of advertising opportunities they offer through sound, visual or integrated placements (Russell, 2019). Moreover, in recent years, streaming platforms have further promoted this form of communication by creating serialized content that resonates strongly with younger audiences, who tend to favour non-traditional media (Li, 2023). The continued increase of global revenues further underscores the success of product placement, with projections anticipating a surge to $29 billion in 2023 (Navarro, 2023). This reflects a notable increase of over 12% compared to the preceding year. In this context, the paper aims to analyse product placement in the series And Just Like That..., the sequel to Sex and the City. In particular, it will focus on two antithetical cases: the so-called “negative placement”, which occurs when the inclusion of a brand or product is linked to a narrative element detrimental to the image of the brand itself, and “positive placement”, a promotional strategy that instead enhances the appeal and visibility of the featured product within the narration

In the Middle Ages, it transformed into the Genoese colony city of Pera, which thrived for almost three centuries as an independent entity. It soon became a significant port in the Eastern Mediterranean, attracting many foreigners drawn to new commercial opportunities.After the Ottoman conquest of 1453, Galata retained its privileges, and the Ottomans continued to foster its prosperity. Through the Ottoman Empire’s reform processes during the 19th century, Galata and Pera, renamed Beyoğlu, became the new cosmopolitan and international center of Istanbul’s bourgeoisie, prior to the establishment of the Turkish Republic in 1923.L’insediamento di Galata si ergeva di fronte a Bisanzio/Costantinopoli, al di là del Corno d’Oro. Nel Medioevo si trasformò nella città-colonia genovese di Pera, che prosperò per quasi tre secoli come un’entità indipendente. Divenne presto un importante porto del Mediterraneo orientale, richiamando molti stranieri attratti da nuove opportunità commerciali.Dopo la conquista ottomana del 1453, Galata mantenne i suoi privilegi e gli Ottomani continuarono a farla prosperare. A manuscript intended as an instrument to give new impetus to the figure of the architect-engineer is a further testimony of the liveliness of the Neapolitan debate on hydraulic engineering at the end of the Eighteenth Century. The study of the few, but significant, variations present in this manuscript also opens up the problem of relations between the few known apographs from Leonardo on Del moto e misura dell'acqua.
Lo studio dell’apografo Arconati di Vincenzo Corazza documenta l’attenzione dell’erudito illuminista per la scienza dell’acqua. Un manoscritto inteso come strumento per dare nuovo impulso alla figura dell’architetto-ingegnere che è una ulteriore testimonianza della vivacità del dibattito napoletano sull’ingegneria idraulica di stampo vinciano sul finire del XVIII secolo. Get PDFThe return of the chorus in contemporary staging and dramaturgy is a phenomenon that inevitably departs from the classical model of Greek tragedy, where the chorus was limited to commenting on events and drawing conclusions, emphasizing a moral, ethical, or political message. While it may still carry the authoritative voice of the author, it is often no longer composed of many voices speaking in unison but rather a collection of individuals jointly contributing to the creation of a discourse. Thus, the classical tragedy’s chorus has been succeeded on the modern stage by a communal, group-based choral use, which bears a strong resemblance to the unreadable figures of postmodernity.Il ritorno del coro nella messa in scena e nella drammaturgia contemporanea è un fenomeno che inevitabilmente si distacca dal modello classico della tragedia greca in cui si limitava a commentare i fatti e indicava una conclusione ponendo l’enfasi su un messaggio morale, etico o politico. Se è ancora portatore della voce autorevole dell’autore, spesso non è più composto da tante voci che parlano all’unisono ma da una serie di individui che compartecipano alla creazione di un discorso. Al coro della tragedia classica è quindi succeduto sul palco della modernità un uso corale di gruppo, di comunità che mantiene una grande somiglianza con le figure illeggibili della postmodernità
