Using artificial intelligence technologies to optimize methodology and organization of scientific research

    No full text
The rapid digitalization of science puts forward new requirements for the methodology and organization of research. Artificial intelligence (AI) tools are able to accelerate data analysis, support hypothesis generation, and automate routine procedures, but at the same time exacerbate issues of reproducibility, transparency, and academic integrity. The purpose of the work is to substantiate and test approaches to integrating AI technol ogies to optimize the methodology and organization of scientific research in the field of digital development. The work applied a systematic analysis of modern practices, mathematical modeling of processes (optimiza tion of the choice of modes "human/AI/hybrid", Bayesian assessment of reliability, regularization of bias and interpretability, POMDP-planning of scientific cycles), as well as the design of a modular architecture for supporting research. Empirical testing was carried out on prototypes of workflows: automated literature re view, intelligent processing of experimental data, preparation of publication materials. An integrated model of scientific process management was proposed, combining: (i) formal selection of human and AI roles under resource and quality constraints; (ii) aggregation of evidence from human and machine channels through a Bayesian scheme; (iii) simultaneous limitation of algorithmic bias and increase of explainability; (iv) strategic POMDP-planning of experiments taking into account risks and costs. The paper showed that the use of the proposed model reduces the time for preparing reviews and analyzing data, increases the reproducibility of conclusions and transparency of decisions, as well as reduces the risks associated with the “black box” and data bias. Practical recommendations for implementing AI in research units are formulated: regulations for disclosing the use of AI, data quality control, requirements for the explainability of models, and the role of the researcher as a responsible interpreter. AI should be considered as a tool for strengthening scientific work. The integration of the proposed models into the methodology and organization of research increases the effi ciency, reproducibility, and ethical reliability of scientific results, opening the way to scalable, resource-effi cient research practices. Problems in programming 2025; 3: 91-10

Фенологічні зміни вториних метаболітів та мінерального живлення Solidago canadensis та їх вплив на ґрунтову екосистему ризосфери

    No full text
A comprehensive study of the impact of Solidago canadensis on the soil ecosystem using the example of monodominant communities of this species located on the exposition plot ‘Steppes of Ukraine’ of the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv) is presented. The research was conducted during the growing seasons of 2023–2024. The content of macro- and microelements, secondary metabolites in leaves and soil, allelopathic activity, organic and mineral carbon content, and laccase activity were assessed, and the functional structure of soil microbial communities was determined. It has been established that S. canadensis actively regulates the absorption of nutrients, which serves as an adaptive mechanism to environmental changes. The capacity of S. canadensis to reduce soil contamination with toxic metals such as Mn, Zn, Co, Cr, Fe, Pb, and Ti has been shown. For Mn and Zn, S. canadensis acts as a phytoextractor, and for Co, Cr, Fe, Pb, and Ti, it acts as a phytostabilizer.Significant phenological fluctuations in allelopathic activity, the content of biologically active secondary metabolites, and the functional structure of the rhizosphere microbiota in S. canadensis have been shown. The successful spread of S. canadensis outside its natural range may be associated with the ability of this plant to produce and release into the environment a number of secondary metabolites of phenols, terpenoids, saponins, etc., which are responsible for its high resistance to abiotic and biotic stress factors, allelopathic activity, inhibit the development of harmful bacteria and stimulate the development of actinomycetes, which participate in the restoration of soil fertility and are antagonists of phytopathogens

Traversal of arbitrary sequences of UCM symbolic transitions for test generation

The paper proposes a method of traversal of high-level multi-threaded models formalized in UCM language. The pros and cons of this approach comparing to the existing ones are considered. The method that allows state space exploring of UCM models using symbolic solving and proving is presented. The generation of symbolic traces used for software system testing is described.Prombles in programming 2014; 2-3: 107-11

Optimization methods for face recognition algorithmes

    No full text
The paper examines the main drawbacks of modern face recognition algorithms: low processing speed, high sensitivity to image quality and face positioning. A division into three approaches to face recognition algorithms optimization is proposed: optimization of feature weights, algorithm hyperparameters, and constructing an optimal distributed system architecture. Examples of the application of Particle Swarm Optimization, Cuckoo Search, Simulated Annealing, and genetic algorithms to overcome the mentioned limitations in existing algorithms are provided. The study demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of these optimization methods and identifies promising directions for further research in face identification methods optimization using genetic algorithms.Prombles in programming 2025; 1: 74-8

Visualization of the semantics of text descriptions presented in various formats

This study is aimed at solving the problem of identifying semantics from arbitrary texts presented in various formats and further visualizing it using modern tools of generative artificial intelligence. The rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies provides fundamentally new opportunities for solving both text analysis tasks and content generation - visualizations (in the form of images or videos). As a result, we can talk about a different, modern level of solving applied problems using similar functionality. The field of generative artificial intelligence is still quite young and contains many unsolved problems. The generated visualization is characterized not only by the technical quality of the image or video, but also by the adequacy of the presentation of the semantics of the input text description, which usually directly depends not only on the possibility of the selected AI tool, but also on the structure and content of the input text prompt. This article describes the algorithm to form a chain of solving the given task, from the criteria for choosing tools of developments and identifying problems that need improvement or resolving, to determining the scheme of a composite solution. The method created within the framework of the proposed study has certain limitations, namely: it does not support multilingual content and does not cover the processing of dialects, slangs, automatic detection of the language of the text.Problems in programming 2025; 1: 94-10

Service-oriented, distributed real-time systems in digital libraries

    No full text
The article considers the problems of building service-oriented real-time web applications. In particular, to predict the execution time of highly loaded applications, provided that the load is stationary, it is proposed to use the Erlang model with an infinite-length queue. We also propose a new algorithm for adaptive runtime prediction. As a practical implementation, we tested our proposals on a system for performing ontology classification inference and execution time planning.Problems in programming 2013; 2: 87-9
