    A resource limited parallel program model

    Modern parallel programs run in a complex, resource-limited environment, and this raises the new requirements for resource consumption and execution stability of long running processes. In order to help with checking resource constraints for such parallel software a resource-limited parallel program formal model was developed. The model expresses the resource and time constraints and is suitable both for fine grained and coarse-grained parallelism in programs. For higher degrees of parallelism (at independent procedure level, bigger loop iterations, large computing blocks for graphics, video and neural network processing) the interpretation of formal model can be done in run-time and avoid dead locks and hangs during resource allocation. We are discussing several modern software frameworks that are able to integrate the functionality to interpret the model and check the feasibility of the set of parallel programs running on hardware simultaneously with resource and time limitations. Real world tasks – neural network inference, video processing, general purpose computing on GPU – which get benefits after enabling such models - are discussed.Problems in programming 2019; 4: 03-1

    Deviant truth-values algebras and deviant classes of general non-deterministic predicates 14 Software environment and tools

    In this paper we study new classes of program-oriented logical formalisms – logics of general non-deter­ministic (GND) predicates. These logics reflect such properties of programs as nondeterminism, partiality, and non-fixed arity. GND-predicates can be modeled as 7-valued total deterministic (TD7) predicates. The main attention is paid to algebras of truth values (TV-algebras) of TD7-predicates. The set of truth values TV7 = {T, F, T#, F#, #,  TF, TF#} defines TV-algebrа ATV7 = (TV7,  {Ø*, Ú*}). There 20 subalgebras of ATV7 exist, and each of them induces a corresponding algebra of GND-predicates. At the same time there is a very large number of 7-valued logics so a lot of TV7 subsets are not closed under Ø* or Ú* and do not form subalgebras of ATV7. We call such subsets with the corresponding classes of GND-predicates deviant, they are not closed under logical connectives of GND-predicates. In order for deviant TV Í TV7 to form an algebra we need to modify Ø* or Ú*. Modifications can be made in a large number of ways. Modification of Ø* leads to specific non-classical logics and lies outside the scope of this paper. Modifications of Ú* sa­tisfying the TFC condition of predicate algebras logical connectives correctness are the most important, otherwise we obtain deviant TV-algebra which does not induce an algebra of GND-predicates. For all TV7 subsets we study the possibility of Ú* modification with TFC condition. Such modifica­tion induces corresponding classes of GND-predicates. We describe “natural” modifications of Ú* without TFC condition obtaining a number of deviant TV-algebras. There are no modifications with TFC condition for de­viant sets {#, TF, TF#}, {TF, #}, {TF#, #}, so for them we specify “relatively natural” deviant TV-algebras.Problems in programming 2019; 1: 14-2

    A simulator of human physiology under energy balance in cells

    For IBM-compatible personal computers, a software simulator (PS) is created, based on simplified mathematical models (UMM) of complex physiological systems (CFS) that provide energy balance in human cells. The differential equations of the previously created and published dynamic model in UMM are replaced by algebraic equations describing the proportional dependences between the variables of the state of the CFS. UMMs describe only the statics of cellular and multicellular CFS. The PS developed in C ++ provides the user (physiologist) with an interface through which different combinations of specified state variables are selected to calculate the mean arterial pressure (SBP). Multidimensional equations contain coefficients characterizing the sensitivity of state variables to changes in the energy status of the organism. By means of numerical values of these coefficients the user can simulate different static physiological regimes of the organism. Examples of such computations are given. PS is a convenient information technology, complementing the traditional empirical methods of human physiology.Problems in programming 2018; 4: 93-100

    Objective – to investigate the accumulation of biochemical compounds in the different organs of cultivars and varieties of Miscanthus Anderss. in conditions of M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. Material and methods. Investigated plants were cultivars and varieties of species of the genus of Miscanthus collected in an experimental collection of Cultural Flora Department of M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine: М. × giganteus сv. Huliver (MGH), М. × giganteus f. ЕSBMG-3 (MGE-3), М. sacchariflorus сv. Snihopad (MSS), М. sacchariflorus f. ЕSMBS-3 (MSE-3), М. sinensis сv. Veleten (MSV), М. sinensis f. ESBMK-1 (MSE-1). The content of dry matter was determined according to A.I. Yermakov et al. (1972), the total content of sugars and ascorbic acid concentration – according to V.P. Krishchenko (1983), the content of carotene – according to B.P. Pleshkov (1985), the content of ash – according to Z.M. Hrycaenko et al. (2003), the content of calcium and phosphorus – according to H.M. Pochinok (1976). Energetic value of dry plant raw material determined on calorimeter. Results. In the period of full seed ripening the plant raw material of Miscanthus genotypes accumulated dry matter from 38.99 % (MSE-1, leaves) to 88.08 % (MSE-3, leaves), total content of sugars – from 2.72 % (MSE-3, panicles) to 10.03 % (MGH, stems), ascorbic acid – from 4.40 mg% (MSE-3, panicles) to 40.03 mg% (MGE-3, leaves), carotene – from 0.09 mg% (MSE-3, stems) to 0.26 mg% (MGH, leaves), ash – from 1.38 % (MSS, stems) to 8.65 % (MSV, leaves), calcium – from 0.19 % (MSS, stems) to 0.91 % (MGH, leaves), phosphorus – from 0.032 % (MGE-3, stems) to 0.412 % (MSE-3, panicles), protein – from 4.82 % (MSE-3, stems) to 12.28 % (MSE-1, leaves). Energetic value of dry raw was from 3811.87 cal/g (MSS, leaves) to 4193.17 cal/ g (MSV, panicles). Conclusions. Obtained data demonstrated that in conditions of M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine cultivars and varieties of Miscanthus × giganteus, M. sacchariflorus, M. sinensis are the valuable source of nutrients and biofuel in the period of full seed ripening. Distribution of biochemical compounds in different organs resulted that accumulation of it depends on genotype. It was found that content of sugars was maximal and content of ash with macroelements, protein, carotene was minimal in the stems of investigated plants

    Горіх серцеподібний та г. айлантолистий (Juglans cordiformis Maхim., J. Ailantifolia Carr.) в умовах Лісостепу України: підсумки інтродукції та перспективи використання

    Objective – to investigate the history of introduction of two species of nuts – Juglans cordiformis Maxim and J. ailantifolia Carr. in conditions of Forest-Steppe of Ukraine; to sum up the results of long-term purposeful introduction of these species in Forest-Steppe of Ukraine; to outline the prospects of their use. Material and methods. Subject of the research – perennial plantations of introduced species of the genus Juglans – J. cordiformis and J. ailantifolia. The studies were carried out according to the generally accepted methods in the collection plantings of the Department of dendrology of M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine and in the urban plantings of Kyiv. Results. Wintering and drought tolerance J. cordiformis and J. ailantifolia was identified. Species J. ailantifolia less winter-hardy (34 points) and drought-resistant (23 points), compared with J. cordiformis (2 and 4 points, respectively). Analysis of the biochemical composition of the fruit confirmed the nutritional value of the nucleus J. cordiformis and J. ailantifolia. The fat content in the fruits of the studied species exceeds that in J. regia (62.8 and 61.4 % versus 58.4 %), the protein content in fruits of J. cordiformis is 43.1%, in fruits of J. ailantifolia – 41.2 %, which is three times more compared with J. regia. Conclusions. Winter and drought resistance of J. ailantifolia (23 points) was lower compared to J. cordiformis (4 points). The study of the content of anthocyanins in the shoots showed that during a decrease in air temperature, the content of anthocyanins increases sharply. In J. cordiformis, the content of anthocyanins in winter is 522.67 and in J. ailantifolia – 378.95 mg/100 g of dry matter, confirming the results of visual observations on the scale of winter hardiness of S.Ya. Sokolov. This figure in J. cordiformis is 2 points (freeze the ends of shoots last year vegetation), and in J. ailantifolia 34 points (freeze shoots last year for the entire length, and sometimes freeze shoots last two years). J. cordiformis and J. ailantifolia can be used in the garden and park economy of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine as valuable food plants. J. ailantifolia is particularly in need of additional moisture in the dry period and in the use of agronomic measures to increase its winter hardiness
