    Electronic demography decision making system

    No full text
The article suggests an approach to the development of an electronic demographic decision support system using data warehouse and interactive analytical processing OLAP. This makes it possible to conduct research on demographic processes at a high level and to support decision makers in the field of demography. Due to the presence of many types of demography and a large number of indicators, proposed in the article, a Data Mart Bus Architecture with Linked Dimensional Data Marts is proposed as a Data Warehouse architecture. The article also shows the practical application of this approach using two Data Marts as an example. Based on these Data Marts, OLAP-cubes are built. OLAP operations provide the ability to view cubes in various slices, as well as provide aggregate data.Problems in programming 2020; 2-3: 228-23

Method of information obtaining from ontology on the basis of a natural language phrase analysis

    No full text
A method for phrases analyzing in natural languages of inflective type (Ukrainian and Russian) has been developed.  The method allows one to outline main expressed ideas and groups of words in the text by which they are stated. The semantic trees of propositions formed in this way, each of which expresses one specific idea, are a convenient source material for constructing queries to the ontology in the SPARQL language. The analysis algorithm is based on the following sequence of basic steps: word tokenize, determining of marker words and phrases, identifying available type of proposition, identifying nouns groups, building a syntactic graph of a sentence, building semantic trees of propositions based on existing types of propositions, substituting parameters from semantic trees of propositions in the corresponding SPARQL query templates. The choice of an appropriate template depends on the type of proposition expressed by a given semantic tree of a proposition. The sets of concepts received as an answer are tied as corresponding answers to the previously defined semantic tree of proposition. In case of non-receipt of information from the ontology, the reduction of noun groups is carried out to express more general concepts and the building queries using them. This allows us to get some answer, although not as accurate as when we use the full noun group. The use of SPARQL query templates requires an a priori known ontology structure, which is also proposed in this paper. Such a system is applicable for dialogue using chat-bots or for automatically receiving answers to questions from the text.Problems in programming 2020; 2-3: 322-33

Development of the information system for semantic identification and documentation of the results of non-formal and informal education

    No full text
We analyse modern approaches to the interaction of the educational services market with the labour market through recognition of non-formal and informal learning outcomes. The authors prove the expediency of semantic technologies used for information processing at the knowledge level. ESCO classifier that combines services of the labour market and the educational market is examined in detail. This classifier allows jobseekers and employers from different EU member states to handle information on learning outcomes more efficiently. The analyzes of  practical ESCO classifier usage on example of the European Employment Service (EURES) demonstrates that  this approach provides all necessary information for jobseekers abroad. The ontological analysis is an efficient way to model the ideas of various subject domains and it allows to represent formally their semantics. Hence, the research analyzes the ontological model for this information system and its components; in particular, the authors provide the described content of the ESCO ontological model which consists of three elements – occupations, skills and qualifications. The paper offers an information system for semantic identification and documentation of non-formal and informal learning outcomes based on the ESCO ontological model. The authors select and analyze the main stages of the system development: an ontology scheme in the Protege editor is created; the process of integrating the ontology in the RDF-repository is described; the architecture and user interface of the suggested information system are developed. Semantic graphs database GraphDB is used for ontology storage. To implement the addition and modification of data in GraphDB repository, connectors are used. Access to the RDF-repository is provided with SPARQL query language, whose outcomes are represented as result sets or RDF-graphs. In addition, the research justifies the use of React framework for development of the information system user interface. The architecture and user interface of information system proposed in this research work allow to carry out the semantic identification and documentation of non-formal and informal learning outcomes. Thus, they increase the efficiency of managing the information about these outcomes.Problems in programming 2020; 2-3: 11-21

A review of modern data storage architectures was conducted, the advantages and disadvantages of each of them were given. The data storage systems of the IBM FlashSystem family were analyzed, as well as Spectrum Virtualize software, which is responsible for virtualization, compression, distribution and replication of data stored on the storage system. A mathematical model of the data storage system of IBM Storwize v5030E was developed. Well-known metrics are used to evaluate its performance when using spindle and solid-state drives. The effect of hardware and software data compression on system performance has been experimentally revealed. Recommendations are formulated by which it is possible to determine which media and which technology stack should be used by a business user to complete the tasks assigned to him.Problems in programming 2020; 2-3: 82-9

Development of access management methods to information from WIKI resources

    No full text
The prospects and scope of Wiki technologies are considered, the structure of the content re presentation and MediaWiki software are analyzed. Considerable attention is given to architecture of MediaWiki and the components of this architecture. The problem deal with the need to access management to the content of Wiki-resources in accordance with the specifics of the information contained in such resources is identified. The results of the analysis show that the basic tools of MediaWiki are not capable to allow a satisfactory solution to this problem. Therefore, we need to create specialized software that is based on the content classification with the  use of separate namespaces, categories, templates and semantic properties extracted from MediaWiki. Such software has to be independent of the MediaWiki core and be based on programming of content analysis at the skin level. We test the proposed solution in the process of  development of the portal version of the Great Ukrainian Encyclopedia (e-vue) with use of  knowledge regarding the knowledge base structure of this portal.Prombles in programming 2020; 1: 33-4

The objective of this study was to assess the effects of the electromagnetic field of a Wi-Fi system and the experimental gadget M4 developed by SAS “IRDT” (France) on wheat seed germination, growth and photosynthetic activity of juvenile plants. Material and methods. The test-plants were grown under controlled conditions of light, temperature and humidity for eight days in a pot experiment modeling the following treatments: (1) without the electromagnetic field of Wi-Fi systems (control); (2) at a distance of 30 cm from the operating Wi-Fi router; (3) at a distance of 30 cm from operating Wi-Fi router and the experimental gadget M4. The test plant development and vitality were assessed using indices of seed germination, growth rates (shoot height, root length, number of lateral roots, shoot and root dry weights), photosynthetic pigment content in leaves, and the number of chloroplasts per a mesophyll cell in foliar tissues. Results. It was found that the electromagnetic field of the Wi-Fi router initially stimulated, but then suppressed the germination of seeds, reduced the growth of shoots and roots, the content of photosynthetic pigments and genesis of the chloroplasts in the mesophyll tissues in leaves of juvenile wheat plants. The root length was the most sensitive morphometric parameter to the electromagnetic field of the Wi-Fi router. The use of the gadget M4 completely compensated the negative impact of the Wi-Fi router on the seed germination, shoots growth, and partially compensated for the suppression of root growth, the genesis of the chloroplasts, chlorophyll a and b content in wheat leaves. Conclusion. The attenuation effect of gadget M4 against the damaging effect of electromagnetic fields of anthropogenic origin is promising, and further investigations are required to observe the effects in the long term, from sowing to maturity, including the next generation of seeds

In the context of global climate change, the current strategy of agroeconomics focuses on the introduction of unique plant species and the selection of new commercially important cultivars adapted to the dramatic weather changes. Cornus officinalis (Cornaceae) has Chinese origin, its reintroduction at the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine started in 1993. The objectives of this research were: to investigate the biometric parameters of fruits and leaves of C. officinalis genotypes, C. officinalis × C. mas hybrid ‘Etude’ and genotype from the grafting C. officinalis on C. mas under cultivation in the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and to determine the degree of adaptation of C. officinalis to the climatic conditions of Ukraine (in particular, Right-Bank Forest Steppe) for selection of promising genotypes for further breeding work. Material and methods. We used: a) 26-year-old maternal plant obtained from a two-year-old seedling in 1993 received from the nursery “Northwoods Wholesale Nursery” Mollala (Oregon, USA), where it was grown as an ornamental plant; b) seedlings of the maternal plant; c) cultivar Etude, which is an artificial hybrid from crossing C. officinalis × C. mas; and d) genotype obtained from grafting C. officinalis on C. mas. In our experiment, the maternal plant is indicated as G-01, while other plants – as G-02–G-08 genotypes. We determined the biometric parameters of the fruit (length, diameter, and weight), endocarp (length, diameter, and weight), pedicel (length and thickness), leaf blade (length, width, and the number of lateral veins) and petiole (length, width, and thickness). We examined the dynamics of fruit and endocarp formation during the season (genotypes G-01–G-03 and G-05) and compared the biometric characteristics of the fruit of genotypes G-01–G-05 from crops of two years, 2010 and 2018, which were most favorable in weather conditions. We have processed quantitative data in the PAST 2.10 software. The differences between the samples were estimated using the Tukey-Kramer test. The degree of variability was determined by the coefficient of variation. To assess the level of variability, we used the classification of Mamaev (1975). Results. We have found that the largest fruits in 2010 were observed in the genotype G-01 and the smallest – in the genotype G-03. The coefficient of variation of the linear parameters of the fruit and endocarp was in the range 5.7–10.1 %; the level of variability was very low or low. The variability of fruit weight and endocarp was high; the coefficient of variation was from 7.0 up to 28.3 %. The amplitude of the linear parameters of the leaf was wide (coefficient of variation was from 9.8 to 31.0 %). The cultivar Etude differed from other C. officinalis genotypes in size and weight of (M = 1800 mg, max = 2400 mg) and a much wider amplitude of variation in the length (17.9–22.6 vs. 14.3–18.2 mm) of the fruit. The largest leaves were in the genotypes G-08 and G-01, and the smallest – in the genotype G-02. The cultivar Etude did not differ so much by the mean leaf morphometric indices and number of veins, but it demonstrated one of the broadest leaf blades (51.5 mm). Conclusions. The data obtained in this study is important for the commercial use of C. officinalis and the cultivar Etude as food and medicinal plant, as well as for breeding in climatic conditions of Ukraine and analysis of hybridization features in the genus Cornus in general
