Teaching Tip on 'Hands-On Earth Science'
This is a great resource, with a lot of great lesson plan ideas. Take these ideas and fit them into your classroom. There are wonderful ideas on how to teach plate tectonics and geology! Highly recommended!

Teaching Tip on 'K-4 Earth Science Modules'
This website, information and activities support the Minnesota Academic Science Standards, especially the kindergarten earth and space science standard.
I really like how the website is not only teacher-friendly, but student-friendly as well. The activities allow students to investigate the weather through hands-on activities. The activities are ones that students can relate to and understand.
Teaching Tip on 'Introduction to Climate'
My advice for this website is that one should use a method of skimming first to get a basic idea, and then proceed to read the information thoroughly. After reading the information, go over the bold words again. I would also recommend taking notes, or even printing the information out and highlighting it.
Teaching Tip on 'Windows to the Universe'
Use a computer with high speed connection for better results
Teaching Tip on 'American Field Guide: Relative Dating - Telling Time Using Fossils'
The handout portion of this activity worked well to show a practical application of geologic dating. This was a good activity to give ideas for a original activity similar to this one. And therefore, a suggestion would be to create a new set of questions and maybe a new activity using rock strata.

Teaching Tip on 'Earthquake Quiz'
I like the idea of a quiz. Students would like that. Then they get the answer and if they want they have something to further investigate. Cool site!
Teaching Tip on 'Glaciers and Icebergs'
I found that in doing the exercise with a large group of students in many classes, the freezer space needed for cups was a little too large, so I used ice cube trays. The students had smaller glaciers but it was easier to freeze enough for numerous classes. I made a larger glacier out of large beaker. I then demonstrated to the students on other surfaces besides just the wood that they had.
Teaching Tip on 'Advection Simulation (title provided or enhanced by cataloger)'
Advection is a particularly difficult concept for introductory level students. This activity provided a simple way to visualize the process that I believe most of my students found useful.
