Research Development in Public Universities in Nigeria: Problems and Solutions
This paper discussed barriers to research development in Nigerian public universities. Secondary data were used to support the points raised in the article. The secondary data were sourced from print materials and online publications by recognized institutions and individual authors. The paper concluded that Poor funding, lack of modern laboratories, inadequate infrastructure facilities, strike actions, insecurity, brain drain, the poor linkages between researchers and the industrial sector, unattractive working conditions for researchers, strict guidelines for accessing grants and poor mentorship are some of the barriers to research development in public universities in Nigeria. To solve the identified problems, the paper among other things recommended adequate funding of public universities with a special interest in research development in all the public universities in Nigeria

Designing Visual Aid
Designing visual aids are essential for informed decision making. Unfortunately, many people struggle to understand typical risk communications because they lack essential decision-making skills. Objective The aim of this study was to review the literature on the effect of numeracy on risk literacy, decision making, and health outcomes, and to evaluate the benefits of visual aids in risk communication. Method We present a conceptual framework describing the influence of numeracy on risk literacy, decision making, and health outcomes, followed by a systematic review of the benefits of visual aids in risk communication for people with different levels of numeracy and graph literacy. The systematic review covers scientific research published between January 1995 and April 2016, drawn from the following databases: Improvements in risk understanding consistently produced beneficial changes in attitudes, behavioral intentions, trust, and healthy behaviors. Visual aids were found to be particularly beneficial for vulnerable and less skilled individuals
Didactic Factors of Improving the Writing Competence of Future English Language Teachers
This study aims to investigate the didactic factors and strategies that contribute to improving the writing competence of future English language teachers. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study surveyed and interviewed pre-service teachers and analyzed their written work. The results revealed that targeted feedback, practice-oriented instruction, collaborative learning, and self-regulated learning were significant contributors to enhancing writing competence. These findings have implications for teacher education programs and the professional development of future English language teachers
Analysis of Phraseological Units Related to Profession in English Uzbek Languages
In this article, the semantic analysis of phraeological units related to profession in the English and Uzbek languages shows that the proverbs and sayings of the studied languages cover all aspects of the life of different peoples in terms of their content. Phraseological units related to profession in English and Uzbek are semantically divided into nominative and communicative phraseological units. The verb of these phraseological units introduces phraseological units. Such units are less common in Uzbek than in English
