The State of Sexuality Counseling Training in Counselor Education
Get PDFSexuality counseling training remains underdeveloped and lacks standardization across counselor education programs in the United States. We examined the integration of sexuality counseling in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) programs. Out of 191 CMHC programs, 45% offered a standalone course and only 15.2% required one. We also performed summative and latent content analyses on the course descriptions to review the primary content of sexuality counseling courses. Content analysIs revealed course content largely focusing on sex positivity and inclusivity, though invalidating and potentially stigmatizing language persists. We conclude with implications for counselor education and future directions for research

Carpenter Library at the University of North Florida: All of the Student support Areas at UNF offer hours in the library. The Writing Center, Student Academic Success Services and the Smart Center have spaces and offer hours of help in the Thomas G. Carpenter Library. Lauren covers how to access and use the Sage Skills Database, available in the A-Z Database list, which allows the user to acquire academic and professional skills necessary to succeed. Sage Skills includes two units, Business Skills, and Student Success. Beryl reviews the Curio XR Virtual Reality Applications and highlights the possible uses for student collaboration and for faculty use to supplement and enhance their classroom instruction. The episodes concludes with the Library VR Champion Dr. Cari Andreani, the Assistant Director of the Student Academic Support Services who has encouraged her tutors and SI instructors to use the Curio XR VR application and other VR experiences application
