No full textتناولت الدراسة موضوع اتجاهات الباحثين العرب بجامعة السلطان قابوس نحو النموذج الجديد للاتصال العلمي المبني على الوصول الحر إلى المعلومات المنشورة على شبكة الويب. وتألف مجتمع الدراسة من 60 باحثا ينتمون إلى تخصصات متنوعة، إلى أن الباحث العربي بجامعة السلطان قابوس لم يتبلور إدراكه بعد لمفهوم الوصول الحر إلى المعلومات العلمية، وأن تقبل الباحثين لنموذج الوصول الحر ما يزال ضعيفا، وأن 78.8% من أفراد الدراسة لم ينشروا أبحاثا في المجلات المتاحة مجانا وأن 77.8% منهم غير مطلعين على المبادرات الدولية حول الوصول الحر، وبين الباحثين أسباب رفضهم النشر في الدوريات الإلكترونية المتاحة مجانا في أن هيئة التحرير بالدوريات غير معروفة بالنسبة إليهم، وأن 75% منهم يعتقدون أن المقالات المنشورة في هذه الدوريات غير معترف بها من قبل اللجان الأكاديمية، كما أفاد 50% منهم أن النشر في الدوريات المتاحة مجانا لا يوفر سوى حظوظ ضئيلة للحصول على منح في مجال البحث.The study addressed the issue of the attitudes of Arab researchers at Sultan Qaboos University towards the new model of scientific communication based on free access to information published on the web. The study population consisted of 60 researchers belonging to various specializations. However, the Arab researcher at Sultan Qaboos University has not yet crystallized his understanding of the concept of free access to scientific information, and that researchers’ acceptance of the open access model is still weak, and that 78.8% of the study’s members have not published research in journals. And 77.8% of them are not familiar with international initiatives on open access. The researchers explained the reasons for their refusal to publish in freely available electronic journals in that the editorial board of the journals is unknown to them, and that 75% of them believe that the articles published in these journals are not recognized by the public. Before academic committees, 50% of them reported that publishing in freely available journals provides only a slim chance of obtaining grants in the field of research

The first part of the study deals with a comprehensive introduction to scientific periodicals, their importance and specifications. Then, it discusses the scientific article and its journey from authorship to publication to scientific arbitration. Then the study deals with periodicals and their acquisition in university libraries. In terms of their importance to the university library, and the methods of providing them, and finally, this part of the study deals with scientific electronic periodicals and the most important developments that have occurred in them

No full textتهدف الدراسة إلى وضع نموذج مقترح لمعايير تقويم مصادر المعلومات المتاحة على شبكة الإنترنت، بغرض قياس درجة الثقة والمصداقية وذلك لمساعدة الباحثين في الحكم على مصادر المعلومات وإمكانية الاعتماد عليها والاقتباس منها ، يتضمن النموذج 4 معايير رئيسية هي : المسئولية الفكرية ، المحتوى ، الدقة ،والحداثة تضم 20 عنصرا فرعيا لها علاقة مباشرة بكل من المعايير الأربعة.The study aims to develop a proposed model for criteria for evaluating information sources available on the Internet, for the purpose of measuring the degree of trust and credibility in order to help researchers judge information sources and the possibility of relying on them and quoting from them. The model includes 4 main criteria: intellectual responsibility, content, accuracy, and modernity. 20 sub-items have a direct relationship to each of the four criteria
