Characteristics of Intellectual Work Published in the Directory of Open Access Journals in the Field of Library and Information Science: A Bibliometric Study
Get PDFلقد رافق التطور الكبير في وسائط النشر الإلكتروني زيادة ملحوظة في الإنتاج العلمي الرقمي، ففي تخصص كتخصص المكتبات والمعلومات تضاعف عدد عناوين الدويات العلمية والمنشورات بسبب سهولة النشر وقلة التكلفة ويسر التوزيع والوصول. ونشط في نفس الوقت توجة النشر المفتوح للوصول الحر.
تهدف هذه الدراسة لتناول دوريات الوصول الحر في مجال علم المكتبات والمعلومات المتاحة في دليل دوريات الوصول الحر (DOAJ) لتتعرف على هذا النوع من النتاج الفكري وبيان أهميته للباحثين والمستفيدين.
وستعتمد الدراسة المنهج الوصفي الببليومتري المقارن لوصف تخصصات الدوريات المفتوحة المصدر واللغات المنشورة بها. ويركز البحث على معامل التأثير والكشاف الفوري بمنتصف عمر الاستشهاد والاستشهاد الذاتي للمؤلف والتداخل بين تخصص المكتبات والتخصصات الأخرى. وسوف تتم مقارنة نتائج دراسة نفذت عام 2012 من قبل أحد الباحثين بالنتائج التي يتم التوصل إليها في العام 2018 للتعرف على مدى التطور الحاصل في النتاج الفكري لمصادر الوصول الحر.Development in the electronic publishing media has been accompanied by a remarkable increase in digital scientific production. In the LIS profession, the number of scientific titles and publications has doubled because of the ease of publication, cost-effectiveness, distribution and accessibility. While at the same time promoting open access publishing.The aim of this study is to address the open access journals in the field of library information science available in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) to identify this type of intellectual work and to indicate its importance to researchers and users .The study uses bibliometric method to describe the open source journals disciplines and their publication languages. It focuses on the coefficient of influence, mid-life citation impact, author self-citation and the overlap between libraries field and other disciplines. Results of this study will be compared with a study carried out in 2012 to identify the extent of the development in open access journals publications
Towards Smart Applications for Smarter Libraries: Application models for rendering academic library services through smart phones
Get PDFهدفت هذه الدّراسة إلى تسليط الضّوء على بعض نماذج التطبيقات الذكيّة التي يمكن الاستفادة منها في تقديم خدمات المكتبات الجامعية، والعوائق والمتطلبات وطرق العمل. وقد اعتمدت الدّراسة على المنهج الوصفي للحصول على البيانات التي تشير إلى الخدمات الذّكيّة في تلك المكتبات؛ وذلك من خلال الملاحظة واستبانة المقابلة التي أظهرت نتائجها أنّ كل المكتبات الجامعيّة عيّنة الدراسة أتاحت مجتمعة خمس خدمات من خلال الهواتف الذّكيّة، تمثّلت برابط الفهرس الإلكتروني بشكل (QR-Code) رمز الاستجابة السّريعة في مكتبات جامعة بيروت العربيّة، وWhatsapp، في مكتبات الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، والجامعة اللبنانيّة الأميركيّة، والرسائل النصيّة القصيرة في كل المكتبات الجامعيّة. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، امتلكت كل المكتبات الجامعيّة صفحات إلكترونيّة قابلة للتصفّح من خلال الهواتف الذّكيّة، وبعضها كان جزءا من التطبيق الذّكي للجامعة نفسها. وبناءً على تلك النتائج توصّلت الدّراسة إلى مجموعة من التّوصيات والمقترحات لتعزيز مفهوم تقديم خدمات المكتبات عن طريق الهواتف الذّكيّة، كتعديل مبادئ رانجاناثان بما يتماشى مع متطلبات عصر الثورة الذّكيّة.This study aims at shedding light on some models of smartphones applications that can be used in rendering university library services. In addition to the Obstacles, requirements and the way it works. The study was based on the descriptive approach to obtain data referring to the smart services in these libraries; through observation and interview results that showed that all of the eight universities, provided five services through smart phones, represented by the link to the Online Public Access Library Catalogue through QR-Code in the American University of Beiryt Libarries, and Beirut Arab University libraries, and Whatsapp, in the American University of Beirut, and the Lebanese American University Libraries. In addition, all university libraries had Mobile – Responisve web pages. At the end, the study came up with a set of recommendations and suggestions to enhance the concept of rendering univeristy library services via smart phones, such as modifying the Ranganathan principles in line with the requirements of the era of smart revolution

No full textالمعلومات الصحية مكون أساسي من أي نظام صحي, فهي ضرورية لتنوير السياسات وعملية التخطيط، ويجب أن تكون المعطيات مفيدة، سهلة الجمع، بدلاً من أن تتطلب وقتاً طويلاً جداً من مقدمي الرعاية الصحية، ولقد حظي عامة الناس بفرص أكثر من أي وقت مضى للقيام بدور نشط في الرعاية الصحية الخاصة بهم. على الرغم من هذه الفرص، لا تزال هناك أسئلة كثيرة تتعلق بالأساس للحواجز المتعلقة بالتماس المعلومات الصحية الوقائية فالحديث السائد حول التنمية الشاملة في الآونة الأخيرة والمسئول عنها طبعا هو الإنسان، يصبح في أغلب المواقف أسطورة ضمن المعوقات والمشكلات الحقيقية التي تعيشها المجتمعات، فباعتبار أن أفراد هذا المجتمع هم من سيخوض غمار هذا التقدم والتطوير، فيجب على الأقل أن يكونوا قادرين على بذل المجهود اللازم للتنمية ومستعدين . له وهذا طبعاً لن يتأتى إلا عند التمتع على الأقل بصحة عقلية، ونفسية، وجسمية تمكنه من العمل والاستمرار فيه.حيث أصبح من المستبعد بل من المستحيل الحديث عن التنمية دون الحديث عن صحة القائمين عليها. ولما كانت الصحة من المعايير الأساسية في تحديد مستويات تقدم المجتمعات من تخلفها. أصبح من اللازم الاهتمام بهذا الجانب بشكل عملي وسريع وفعال، وباعتبارنا معنيين كباحثين، وكأفراد ننتمي إلى هذا المجتمع ارتأينا أن نساهم بهذا البحث ولو من باب الإحساس بالمسؤولية، والذي يحاول أن يكشف عن سلوك البحث عن المعلومات الصحية لدى المرأة العاملة المصرية في المناطق العشوائية.
Health information is an essential component of any health system. It is needed to inform the policy and planning process. Data should be useful, easy to collect, rather than requiring too much time from healthcare providers. The general public has more opportunities than ever before to take an active role in their own healthcare. Despite these opportunities, there are still many questions about the underlying barriers to seeking preventive health information. The recent rhetoric about inclusive development, for which people are of course responsible, becomes in most cases a myth among the real obstacles and issues faced by societies. Since it is the members of this society who will experience this progress and development, they must at least be able and willing to exert the effort necessary for development. This, of course, can only be achieved when they enjoy at least mental, psychological and physical health that enables them to work and continue to work. It has become unlikely and even impossible to talk about development without talking about the health of those involved. Since health is one of the main criteria in determining the levels of progress and backwardness of societies. It has become necessary to pay attention to this aspect in a practical, fast and effective manner, and as concerned researchers, and as individuals belonging to this society, we chose to contribute to this research, even out of a sense of responsibility, which tries to reveal the health information-seeking behaviour of Egyptian working women in informal areas.
 
Moroccan literary production during the twentieth century: a bibliometric approach
Get PDFيقوم المقال على هدف مركزي يكمن في مقاربة مسارات الإنتاج الفكري في الأدب المغربي المكتوب باللغة العربية، والمنشور خلال الفترة الممتدة من سنة 1929 إلى سنة 1999. وذلك بهدف تمثل وتحليل مختلف امتدادات بنياته المرتبطة، سواء بمنتجيه، أو بمكونات نشره، أو بمجال التداول الموازي له. وانسجاما مع ذلك، يكشف المقال عن جوانب التباين، على مستويات توزع الإنتاج داخل مختلف الأجناس الأدبية، ومكونات بنيات المنتجين، وتوزع إسهام بنيات النشر وطبيعة مكوناتها. وتحتفظ هذه التباينات بحدود معينة من الترابط. كما أنها تظل رهينة شروط أدبية وسوسيوثقافية، تهم خصوصيات أدبية الأجناس، وشروط وسياقات تطورها.This article focuses on a central goal which lies in the approach of Moroccan literary production written in Arabic, published during the period from 1929 to 1999. It aims to represent and analyze the various extensions of its structures, whether related to its producers, components of publication, or parallel circulation.With this in mind, the article shows up aspects of variation, at levels of distribution of production within different literary genres, as well as components of producers\u27 structures, distribution of the contribution of publishing structures and the nature of their components. These variations keep certain limits of interconnection. They also remain under the terms of literary and socio-cultural conditions, concerning the specificities of literary genres and the conditions and contexts of their evolution
The Ethical and Legal Issues to Use User’s Data for Data Mining in Egyptian Libraries: Analytical Study
No full textتهدف الورقة البحثية إلى تناول القضايا الأخلاقية والقانونية لاستخدام بيانات المستفيدين للتنقيب عن البيانات في المكتبات المصرية، وتحديدًا فيما يتعلق بخصوصية المستفيدين، حيث يعد التنقيب عن البيانات إحدى مراحل اكتشاف المعرفة من قواعد البيانات، بهدف اكتشاف، أو استخراج العلاقات غير المعروفة مسبقًا، ويعتبر التنقيب عن البيانات من أبرز الخطوات أو العمليات لفهم سلوك المستفيدين في مختلف المجالات وتحديدًا في مجال المكتبات.
فتتناول الدراسة جانبين وهما: تحليل محتوى أبرز المواثيق الأخلاقية بمجال المكتبات، فيما يتعلق بخصوصية وسرية وحماية بيانات المستفيدين، والجانب الآخر الدراسات التي تناولت الموضوع من جانب تخصص المكتبات.
اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي لتحليل، وتفسير، وتشخيص، كيفية استخدام بيانات المستفيدين من أجل التنقيب عن البيانات وذلك بالاطلاع على الدراسات السابقة التي تناولت هذا الموضوع، الذي تبين أنه لم تتناوله أي من الدراسات العلمية العربية.
بالإضافة إلى استخدام أسلوب تحليل المضمون، وهو أحد الأساليب البحثية التي تستخدم للوصف الكمي والموضوعي المنظم للمضمون الظاهر لوسائل الاتصال، وسوف يتم من خلال تحليل مضمون أبرز المواثيق الدولية، بشأن قواعد سلوك المكتبيين وأخصائي المعلومات من قِبل الاتحاد الدولي لجمعيات ومؤسسات المكتبات International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions [IFLA]، جمعية المكتبات الأمريكية [ALA] American Library Associations، الاتحاد العربي للمكتبات والمعلومات (اعلم)، حيث إن هذه المواثيق تنص على قيم السرية، والشفافية، وحماية خصوصية بيانات المستفيدين باعتبارهم فئة من الفئات المعنية بمؤسسات المكتبات، ومن المُفترض الالتزام بها من قِبل المكتبات، ومراكز المعلومات، ومُقارنتها بالأساليب التي تستخدم لحماية بياناتهم من الناحية القانونية.The research paper aims to deal with the ethical and legal issues of using the data of the users for data mining in the Egyptian libraries. And specifically that relate to the privacy of the users, where data mining is one of the stages of knowledge discovery from databases, in order to discover or extract previously unknown relationship, data mining is considered of the most important steps or processes to understand the behavior of users in various fields, particularly in libraries.The study deals with two sides, as they are, the content analysis of the most important code of ethics in the field of libraries that relates to privacy, secrecy and protection of the user\u27s data, and the studies that dealt with the subject from the side of specialty of libraries.The study will follow the content analysis, to analyze, interpret how to use user\u27s data for data mining and that by reviewing the previous data that dealt with this subject. Zayed University Community: The Role of the Library in Developing Information Literacy Skills in Arabic
No full textإن عصر المعلومات الإلكترونية والإمكانات المعرفية تجبرنا على تغيير طرق التدريس التقليدية المتبعة سابقاً. لذا نجد أن البحث العلمي أصبح أهم وسيلة للتعلم مدى الحياة في عملية التدريس الجامعي، وبالتالي تعاظم دور المكتبة أكثر من ذي قبل وهي ركيزة مهمة للطلبة للحصول على مصادر المعلومات كما أن دورها لا يقتصر على المكتبة فقط، بل لأمين المكتبة الذي يسعى جاهداً للعمل خارجها، إضافة إلى دور أمناء المكتبات في العملية التعليمية وهي تنمية مهارات الوعي المعلوماتي للأساتذة والطلبة. ولأهمية ما تقدم ظهرت الحاجة لهذه الدراسة بهدف تحديد مدى استفادة مجتمع جامعة زايد من برنامج الوعي المعلوماتي لطلبة اللغة العربية والدراسات الإسلامية وورش العمل لأعضاء هيئة التدريس، ودراسة طرق التدريس وكيفية تطويرها في المستقبل لدعم العملية التعليمية.
للتحقق من فرضيات البحث استخدم الباحثين المنهج الوصفي المسحي لعينة عشوائية من الطلبة وأعضاء هيئة التدريس، فأعد الباحثين إستبانة من خمس محاور: قياس مدى إلمام أمناء المكتبات بالمعلومات المطلوبة، ومدى الرضا عن وسائل الشرح المستخدمة، وزمن الورشة، والمستوى العام للورشة، ومدى ملائمة المعلومات المقدمة. وقد تم إرسال الاستبانة بالبريد الإلكتروني وتمكن الباحثون من الحصول على استجابة 46 طالبة وطالب وأعضاء الهيئة التدريسية من كلية اللغة العربية والدراسات الإسلامية. وأسفرت النتائج عن أن هناك نسبة تجاوزت حاجز 93% من المستجيبين وتراوح تقييمهم بين (أوافق تماما وأوافق) أبدوا رضاهم عن مدى إلمام المحاضر المعلومات المطلوبة ومدى تمكنه من الشرح، وأيضا أوضح أن 84% رضاهم حول إلمام المحاضرين بما قدموه من وسائل شرح للورش المقدمة للمستفيدين وهذه النسبة كانت بين (ممتازة جداً وممتازة)، وكان زمن الورشة مناسب حيث أبدى 80% من المستجيبين عن مدى رضاهم بالزمن المستغرق للورشة تراوحت بين (أوافق تماما، وأوافق)، وان 97% من المستجيبين رأوا أن المستوى العام للورشة بين (ممتازة جدا وجيدة جدا وجيدة)، وتم تقييم المعلومات المقدمة في الورشة وقد أبدى 93% من النسبة الكلية عن مدى رضاهم وكانت الإجابات تتراوح بين (أوافق تماما وأوافق).
وبناءً على هذه النتائج قدم الباحثين توصيات تعتمد على اهتمام المكتبات وموارد التعلم بالتواصل المستمر مع أعضاء هيئة التدريس لتفعيل برامج الوعي المعلوماتي للطلبة، وتطوير مهارات المكتبين وفنيين المكتبات من استغلال التقنيات والممارسات الحديثة المتطورة التي تأهلهم بشكل جيد لتدريس مهارات الوعي المعلوماتي، ودمج تدريس مهارات الوعي المعلوماتي مع مناهج البحث العلمي مستقبلاً.The age of the information and knowledge competences forces us to change the traditional teaching methods used in the past. Thus, we find that scientific research has become the most important of lifelong learning in the process of teaching at the university colleges. The importance of this study is demonstrated by the need to determine the extent to which Zayed University community benefit from the program of information literacy for students of Arabic language and Islamic studies. Workshops for faculty members have been provided through educational methods of teaching and how to develop them in the future to support the educational process.To verify the hypotheses, the researchers used the descriptive method, a random sample of students and faculty have been used in the questionnaire from five axes: measuring the extent of the librarians\u27 knowledge of the required information, the range of satisfaction, the explanation used, the time of the workshop, and the overall satisfaction level of the workshops.The questionnaire was sent by email to students and faculty who’s attended the workshops; and the researchers could obtain the response of 46 female students and faculty members from the Faculty of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies. The results revealed that 93% of the respondents expressed their satisfaction with the accuracy of the required information and the extent to which they were able to explain. 84% of respondents expressed their satisfaction with the information of the presenters about the workshops provided. while 80% of the respondents expressed their satisfaction with the time spent on the workshop ranged from (fully agree and agree), and 97% of the respondents felt that the overall level of the workshop was between (very excellent, good and Very good), and the information provided in the workshop was given about 93% of the total percentage of their satisfaction the answers ranged between (fully agree and agree).Based on these results, the researchers came up with a recommendation according to the attention of Library and Learning Commons in continuous communication with faculty members, to activate information literacy programs for students and develop the skills of librarians and the reference technician, to acquire up-to-date skills and practices that are capable to teach information literacy skills in the future scientific research approaches

Get PDF تُعد حركة الوصول الحر للمعلومات من بين أهم الموضوعات الحيوية، لما أحدثته وتحدثه من تغييرات جذرية في صناعة النشر على كافة المستويات، ولانعكاسات تلك التغييرات على نظام الاتصال العلمي والمهام التي تؤديها الأطراف الرئيسة في هذا النظام، وتُعد الجامعات أحد أبرز العناصر الفعالة في نظام الاتصال العلمي، وأحد أبرز مؤسسات إنتاج المعلومات.
لذا فان الجامعات في طليعة الأطراف المهتمة بالوصول الحر للمعلومات، حيث تلعب دورا مهما في دعم الوصول الحر، فإذا كانت وظائف الجامعة تتمثل في التعليم والبحث وخدمة المجتمع، فإن هذه الوظائف الثلاث يمكن تحقيقها بصورة أكثر فعالية من طريق دعم الوصول الحر للمعلومات.
ولا يخفى على أحد الدور الاستراتيجي والحيوي للمعلومات في دفع عجلة التنمية وتحقيق التقدم الاقتصادي والرفاه الاجتماعي، ولعل تكمن أهمية دراسة هذا الموضوع في اتخاذ مجتمع البحث أعضاء هيئة التدريس في الجامعات الليبية لما لهذه الشريحة من المجتمع من دورا فعالا في إنتاج المعلومات والمعرفة.
لذا تستهدف الدراسة الكشف عن اتجاهات الأكاديميين في الأكاديمية الليبية نحو نشر إنتاجهم الفكري وإتاحته بأسلوب للوصول الحر على الإنترنت، ومعرفة واقع إتاحة الإنتاج الفكري للوصول الحر والعوامل التي تدفعهم للنشر الحر، مع الوقوف على المعوقات لنشر إنتاجهم الفكري عبر الإنترنت في الأكاديمية الليبية وفقا لتوجهات الوصول الحر.The movement of free access to information is one of the most vital topics, because of the radical changes that have occurred in the publishing industry at all levels, and the implications of these changes on the system of scientific communication and the functions performed by theparties main in this system. The role of the research community in the Libyan universities is important for the benefit of this segment of society to play an effective role in the production of information and knowledge.
