INFLUENCE OF ROOTSTOCK CULTIVAR COMBINATION ON THE CONTENT OF HEAVY METALS, MICRO AND MACROELEMENTS IN THE LEAVES OF PLUMS
The research was conducted to evaluate the effect of rootstock combinations on the content of heavy metals, micro, and macronutrients in the leaves of plums. The study was conducted in Brestnik village, situated at a 3.5 km distance from the source of pollution - the Non-Ferrous Metal Works near Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Three plum cultivars of "Stanley", "Jojo" and "C. Lepotica" were studied on the rootstocks of GxN15, GF677, Wavit, Ishtara and Prunus cerasifera for the content of heavy metals, micro, and macroelements in the leaves of plums. Heavy metal concentrations (Zn, Cd, and Pb) in plum orchard soils were below maximum permissible concentrations. The content of micro and macroelements in the leaves differs for each rootstock combination, depending on the cultivar. Phosphorus, potassium and calcium were within the optimum values for leaves, and iron content was below the average. The range of heavy metal and microelement concentration in plum leaves was Fe (58.0–137 mg/kg), Mn (111.7–398.9 mg/kg), Zn (17.2–33.1 mg/kg), Cu (4.3–8.0 mg/kg) and Pb (6.2– 14.7 mg/kg). Leaf Cd concentration was below the detection level. The effect of rootstocks on the accumulation of micro and macroelements (K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn and B) was significant. A BALANCED DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC PROCESSES, ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION, AND HUMAN WELLBEING
All extraordinary innovations of the last decades have impacted the marketplace, the world’s economy, and as a consequence our lives. This dynamism is pushing us to our limits of adaptation and our limits of creativity as well. In light of these events, a very delicate occurrence needs special attention. Our natural, global environment has been forced to change significantly. Therefore, green initiatives are not a question anymore, but an urgent global engagement. In developing countries like Albania, growing green may be a lot more difficult, because this path is closely related to economic factors. However, small steps taken now, are crucial to approaching the global goal. The purpose of this research is to highlight the importance of establishing the key elements of green growth processes in Albania. Although green approaches may take more time in terms of economic growth, they will lead to sustainable development. This primary research will be based on a questionnaire and interviews with management teams of private enterprises and main public administrators in the city of Durres. The analysis is aimed to find out the level of engagement in the process of green development. Descriptive and explanatory research will help us understand the phenomenon of neglect and its whys, related to green growth processes in Albania. Innovative views, concerning marketing planning will be proposed through the study, highlighting their importance in the interconnected process. At the end of the study, based on our primary analysis and existing theoretical research, it is aimed to propose a sustainability scheme that will contribute to tourism development in Albania. THE ANCHORING EFFECT IN THE CONTEXT OF STRATEGIC INVESTMENT DECISION MAKING
The anchoring effect is discussed in literature as one of the most robust and persistent bias that affects most decisions. Strategic investment decisions are non-routine, complex and uncertain and have a significant impact on the long-term performance. This paper seeks to explore the anchoring effect in the context of contextual factors and process dimensions of the strategic investment decision making by reviewing and analysing literature on anchoring effect and strategic investment decision making. This paper concludes that contextual factor “characteristics of decision makers” and process dimensions “procedural rationality” as well as “intuition” show robust conceptual interdependencies to the anchoring effect
NEW WORK IN GERMAN MEDIUM SIZED COMPANIES - INFLUENCING FACTORS AND THE ROLES OF COVID AND SOCIAL STABILITY
At the end of the 2010s, many companies were confronted with the need to implement elements of New Work. This was either because the business model required new ways of working, or because employees required different approaches to leadership and collaboration. For a long time, however, German medium-sized companies were rather critical of these ideas, as they were subjecting a world that had been successful for decades due to its traditional and stable way of working to major changes. In addition to the pressure from the market and employees, however, coping with the Covid pandemic has put additional pressure on companies to implement New Work elements. But not all companies, both management and employees, have implemented these methods immediately and continued as soon as the need was identified. This article deals with the factors that support or hinder the introduction of New Work in German SMEs. Using the example of supporting six different companies in the period from 2019 to 2022, some relevant factors are identified and reflected. In addition, the influence of the pandemic measures themselves on the implementation of New Work in these companies is described, as well as the influence of social instabilities resulting from the economic consequences of the pandemic or the recent political problems in Europe
INCOME INEQUALITY IN AFRICA - CURRENT ISSUES AND PERSPECTIVES
Income inequality in Africa is high and it is growing in recent years. There are various reasons behind this trend and they cannot be limited only to historical context and the changing economic environment. Inequality in Africa has a much more complex characteristics and it is due to a number of factors, including political instability, malfunctioning of institutions as well as climate change. This can be fur- ther observed as the most unequal regions in Africa are those of Central and Southern Africa, or the commonly referred to as the Sub-Saharan region. One of the main reasons for inequality in Africa is the presence of sectoral imbalances, i.e. the prevalence of the agricultural sector. Another main reason for inequality is the institutional weakness and the negative experience of malfunctioning and extractive institutions. In order to overcome these negative tendencies, the institutions should be reformed and particular attention should be paid to reforms in taxation, public spending and job regulation
ECONOMIC DETERMINANTS OF INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
The main aim of this paper is to identify the main determinants of the international technology transfer between developed and developing nations. In this paper Germany is considered as the transferor and India and South Africa are considered as the transferees. In terms of methodology, a quantitative research method with the use of regression analysis by SPSS is implemented. The empirical findings reveal that the previous work of Cho and Shenkayo (2019) can be extended to other contexts. The findings support the “classic country-modern firm international trade theory” developed by Cho and Shenkayo for the case of South Africa but not India. The results will have major policy coordination for the developed countries to design their public and international policies toward the developing countries
EFFECT OF LIGHT ENVIRONMENT ON FORGETTING OF LEARNING TASKS: A PRELIMINARY STUDY
Recent studies have reported that light affects human circadian rhythm, attention, and memory. Among them, memory can be said a very significant factor in terms of the effectiveness of learning. This is because if there is a large amount of retention after a certain period of time with having learned a task, the effect of learning can be considered high. In this respect, long-term memory linked to the memory over an extended period Is one of the important subjects to be covered in learning. A series of studies prove that the performance of working memory and long-term memory in learning field may differ depend on the environment of light. In addition, the studies argue that the optimum light environment for working memory and long-term memory is different. Studies involving the light and long-term memory have consistently reported that the long-term memory under the condition of relatively dark 400 Ix is superior. However, the exact causes of why long-term memory is superior in a relatively dark light environment has still not identified. Thus, this study was conducted to research into the reason why long-term memory is superior in a dark environment through the study on how light environment affects the memory forgetting of learning tasks. With this, we will systematically analyze the effect of long-term memory based on light environment, drawing the implication for the composition of the light environment in the educational field
THE EFFICIENCY OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN
The child is constantly evolving throughout his life, and participation in the education process is a key element in ensuring this development. Experiential learning in preschool children is a current issue, the potential of which would fully ensure their personal training and development. At present, the task of educational institutions is to create an educational environment, whose interactive character would allow the achievement of the objectives of modern education based on the personal involvement of preschoolers in teaching and extracurricular activities. Experiential learning is learning that takes place after reflection on what is being done and is learning through action, through cooperation. The experiential approach to learning allows participants to lead and take responsibility for learning individually through direct discoveries and experiments. The child\u27s main activity is play. Preschoolers are interested in experimentation, exploration, creation, and representation of what they learn through play and construction. Experiential learning is a didactic strategy based on the idea that the maximum profit in learning is obtained by experiencing unique situations and the transfer of knowledge thus obtained to new learning situations. Learning experiences can be positive or negative; the role of the teacher is to ensure/facilitate positive experiences
POSSIBILITIES OF USING DIDACTIC AIDS IN THE SUBJECT GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE
According to the OECD (2010), education in developed countries is a priority and the basis of economic growth, on which the well-being of the state also depends. Education reduces unemployment and increases employment in the labor market. It leads to a higher quality of life and reduces criminal activity. Education is the main source of maintaining the competitiveness of the whole society and the main factor is the achievement of prosperity not only for economic but also for social justice. Education brings independence and social stability. The number of young people who want to achieve higher education and thus obtain a degree for these very reasons is constantly increasing. In proportion to the development of science and technology, the demands on schools also increase, and therefore it is necessary to emphasize not only the content, but also the structure, process and methods of teaching. From the point of view of practice, the amount of knowledge and its passive reproduction is not important, but the understanding of the basic principles of individual scientific fields, the ability to combine knowledge, create logical links and conclusions, and creatively approach the solution of specified tasks. The submitted contribution is focused on the creation and implementation of the subject "Green Infrastructure" in the study programs of the field of Landscape Engineering. Green infrastructure is a complex system of natural territories that include terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, elements and areas and systems of greenery in the settlement and in the country. Its importance results from the sustainable use of natural capital and the ecosystem services it provides for society. It is a multifunctional and durable system that offers a range of nature-based solutions to current problems and needs, for example in the fight against climate change and its consequences. Green infrastructure is a well-established concept in European strategies and policies. This article defines green infrastructure from the perspective of landscape planning and landscape architecture. The article deals with green infrastructure in the European Union in terms of the EU Strategy for Green Infrastructure and from the perspective of Natura 2000 and EU policies in the field of regional development, climate change and water management. This article examines the interactions between the concept of green infrastructure, the common agricultural policy and the new forestry strategy. This topic is new and has not yet been systematically implemented in the disciplines taught in the field of study Landscape Engineering
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER CENTER. THE CASE OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF RAFAELA, ARGENTINA
The National University of Rafaela is a young university whose development activities started in 2017 and that quickly created its Technology Transfer Center, UNRaf Tec, with the purpose of linking the academic and research world with the rest of the regional ecosystem, with the main focus on the private sector and helping in its development. The objective of the present work is to describe the process of the design and development of the Center. This process was conducted with a negative macroeconomic context but relayed on a strength related to the local and regional productive and institutional ecosystem. The planning of UNRaf Tec included understanding the literature on innovation systems and regional development, mapping the rest of the institutions located in the region and their capabilities, creating new structures and new administrative circuits in the university, setting up laboratories with their human resources, infrastructure and equipment, creating a brand, develop a funding strategy, and actively collaborate with academic, private and government institutions. After three years of work, UNRaf Tec is already a functional center with dozens of researchers, technicians and experts in different competitive fields. Although there are still many challenges to keep improving the Center, nowadays UNRaf Tec is a known and dynamic player in the regional ecosystem and will continue to get better to keep bringing value to the private sector and keep the fast pace of the digital transformation
