    PROTECTION OF THE OLD AUTOCHTONUS VARIETY OF PEPPER FROM PERMANENT LOSS IN OUR AREA

    In 2007, the Agricultural Extension Service "Sombor", in cooperation with the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture, launched the Pilot Project Let\u27s Preserve and Protect Old Varieties of Vegetables. The goal of the project was to preserve old domestic varieties of vegetables that are traditionally grown in our area, and their survival is endangered with greater commercialization of vegetable production. They participated 22 primary schools with 3163 students. In this project were collected 5296 samples over three weeks. After collecting, the samples were each individually determined and sorted by plant species, marked, prepared for sowing and recorded in the sample database. Today, in 2022, over 1000 samples of old varieties and populations of vegetables and other plant species are being maintained within this program. A couple of years ago, we began to deal more seriously with old varieties and deepened research on plant species of peppers. This paper will present the phenotypic and morphological characteristics of interesting varieties of indigenous varieties of peppers These varieties are excellent for further production and testing in laboratory conditions and also for organic production. With this project, forgotten plant species, varieties and food populations have been returned to production

    COMPARISON OF SACCHARIFICATION METHODS FOR BIOTECHNOLOGICAL UTILIZATION OF WHEAT BRAN

    This study compares various methods used for the hydrolysis of lignocellulosic waste materials in terms of sugar yield and the content of inhibiting substances. Wheat bran was used as the lignocellulosic material, and the following hydrolysis methods were investigated: one-step alkaline hydrolysis, repeated alkaline hydrolysis, acid hydrolysis, and a combination of these methods with enzymatic hydrolysis. The combination of acid and enzymatic hydrolysis yielded the highest sugar yield, with a concentration of sugars in the hydrolyzate reaching up to 60 g/L and a yield of around 90%. The total concentration of phenolic substances, which can act as inhibitors during further biotechnological processing of the hydrolyzate, was approximately 270 mg/L GAE when using acid hydrolysis combined with enzymatic hydrolysis

    ANALYSIS TOOLS OF POSITIONAL INVESTMENTS AND THE ULTIMATUM GAME

    This paper deals with the analysis of players\u27 decision-making, using tools describing the role of positional investing. It discusses the differences between predicted and empirically observed decision- making in the ultimate game (UG). Empirically observed behavior has its rational basis in evaluating the bargaining position of future conflicts. We extend Nash\u27s bargaining problem with a positional neutrality function. The positional neutrality function identifies an area of possible agreement in which one player\u27s position in future games is not improved at the expense of the other. We used this analytical tool in a pilot UG experiment with 64 participants. We study the player\u27s reactions in the experiment after adding additional information on future investment possibilities. Findings from the seven-rounded UG experiment support the predictive ability of positional neutrality functions. Hence, we assume that the “notion of fairness” can be explained as the “notion of positional neutral pay-off division.

    CRITICAL ANALYSIS CRIMINALISTICS AND FORENSIC SCIENCE EDUCATION - AT UNIVERSITIES IN SLOVAKIA

    The authors briefly analyze the concepts of education in criminalistic and forensic sciences at the university education system in Slovakia with a focus on the state and development. They point to the need for scientific, university-based use of modern knowledge and its content as a new way of classical criminalistic and forensic educational processes. Only visions of a broader application in criminalistic and forensic practice and research should decide on criminalistics education. The basis for this analysis is the only research and pre-research probe in Slovakia in this area. Detailed processing of knowledge was carried out within the research in the project "Methods and procedures for work at the crime scene", including three main pillars for the future of university education in criminalistic and forensic sciences in Slovakia

    EARLY LITERACY FOR ADOPTING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

    The implications of a poor state of health among the teachable are of considerable proportions, having repercussions on school success. It is known that in children with a higher weight than normal, puberty starts faster, and the psychological changes involve significant deteriorations in terms of the emotional state (self-esteem, depression, social/school functioning), a fact that can lead to school dropout. Now, more than ever, education is called to respond to current issues and to get involved in activities that develop cognitive, social and emotional skills, having a protective role on the child\u27s health and the development of a healthy lifestyle. The existing policies, strategies, action plans and programs at European and national level that strive to raise awareness and to promote active and healthy lifestyles are the ideal framework for building a culture of health among the teachable. Local initiatives in the educational sphere that aim to develop children\u27s healthy behaviors regarding nutrition and active lifestyle, promoting cultural traditions in achieving well-being and preventing obesity and chronic diseases can become good practices and inspirational models at national and even international level. Thus, the ”Granny’s Health Bag Program. Healthy traditions for healthy children” a pilot project, awarded the first place in the "Healthy Lifestyle Cities" category by the European Commission at the EU Health Award ceremony, in the year 2021, in which I participated as a member of the implementation team, representing the foundation of the investigation and research conducted in the proposed work

    OPINIONS OF TEACHERS ON THE MANIFESTATIONS OF STUDENTS\u27 CREATIVITY IN THE STUDY OF NATURAL SCIENCES

    Creativity is a complex concept, defined in the literature of the field as the ability to generate original ideas, methods or objects or to reuse existing ones in a new way. Research on creativity has focused both on the characteristics of creative personalities (thinking, attitude, behavior) and on creative processes and products. They also aimed to identify a typology of creativity and characteristics of creative personalities. Creative teaching is an art for which there are no recipes for success or routines. However, the teacher\u27s pro-creativity strategy and the use of teaching strategies with a recognized impact to develop creativity can stimulate students\u27 creative thinking and attitudes and form behaviors designed to contribute to the realization of products considered to be creative. The study of natural sciences, through the methodology specific to the process of scientific knowledge facilitates the development in students of those reasonings valuable for creative thinking: convergent, divergent, associative and synthetic reasoning. Also, the variety of manifestations of science in our lives stimulates emotional creativity. This study presents the results of a survey that aimed to explore teachers\u27 opinions on student creativity and the manifestations of students\u27 creativity in the study of natural sciences. 112 teachers participated in the research and participation in the survey was voluntary, the data being collected online. The majority of respondents said that they develop the creativity of their students by valuing creativity, by using modern teaching methods, by permanently adapting the methodology, by offering the possibility to make choices and having options, by offering models of creative behavior or by ensuring a diversity of creative products. All respondents agreed that the students\u27 creativity can be easily developed in full subjects of the natural sciences

    ACCOUNTING EDUCATORS CHALLENGED BY THE NEW DEMANDS FOR DIGITAL AND SUSTAINABILITY COMPETENCES

    Digital revolution and fast emerging technological innovations have recently challenged the accounting professionals with a new role within the organization. Artificial intelligence evolution and the urge for sustainability have brought accountants to the business leadership table. This new status requires them to adapt to the present reality and to capture the newly provided opportunities. Growth mindset and new interdisciplinary skills are vitally needed from the accounting experts nowadays and this is a call for action for accounting educators to calibrate their curricula and syllabi by embedding technologies, data analytics, business strategy and sustainability. The aim of the paper is to analyse the influence of the new competences, demanded from the accounting profession and to bring into focus some of the main development trends in accounting education in light of the new digital reality and the sustainability concerns. To shed light on the new emerging courses, we perform empirical research of several top- rated universities in Europe, USA and Australia and of the programs, delivered by few well-known professional accounting bodies. Our findings reveal that accounting educators have already developed and implemented new courses, related to smart technologies, data applications, sustainability and integrated reporting. Soft skills are also of growing importance for future accountants

    GERMAN STUDENTS\u27 INTERCULTURAL AWARENESS AT CZECH UNIVERSITIES

    The paper discusses the topic of German students\u27 intercultural awareness at Czech universities. Intercultural sensitivity was measured according to the four cultural dimensions described by organizational psychologists Geert Hofstede and Fons von Trompenaars: power distance (how the unequal distribution of power in society is accepted by people); particularism versus universalism (whether circumstance and each relationship dictate the rule or whether specific circumstances and personal relationships are autonomous); collectivism versus individualism (whether the wellbeing of the group is preferred to personal goals or vice versa) and avoidance of uncertainty (whether uncertainty and the unknown are preferred to rules and regulations). The paper is supported by an analysis of unstructured interviews of German students enrolled in translation studies or Czech studies programs and delivers relevant insights into the motivations of these students to live and study in the Czech Republic, reasons such as Czech family background, low cost of living, opportunity for scholarships, or diverse cultural interests. However, these German students also mentioned the difficulty of Czech university entrance exams, the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the learning process, and inefficient administration in relation to accessing learning materials as major obstacles in their studies in the Czech Republic

    MODELLING AND SIMULATION OF A SUBSTRATE THERMOMECHANICAL BEHAVIOR DURING THE PLASMA SPRAYING

    In our study, a 3D thermal plasma jet was simulated using the ANSYS-CFX code with two turbulence models and for different cases of effective powers. The analysis of the turbulent flow during the thermal jet using the RNG k-ε and SST k-ω models was also presented. The velocity and temperature profiles at the nozzle outlet were deduced from the literature and used as inlet boundary conditions. The results obtained from the two turbulence models show that the RNG k-ε model with different effective powers (790 W; 1050 W; 1350 W and 1780 W) is in good agreement with the experimental results. The RNG k-ε model gave results closer to the experiment than the results obtained from the SST k-ω model. It can also be concluded that when increasing the power supplied to the gas used, the temperature increases and it is maximum in the central axis. In the second step, the flow analyzed by the RNG k-ε model generated the initial conditions for the unsteady flow. Transient simulations for the 2D plasma jet are performed to obtain the velocity and temperature fields and also to obtain the temperature distribution in the substrate for the different time values. The transient simulations in the substrate for the different time values have also been studied. The results showed that the variation of the temperature of the plasma jet is always insignificant near the substrate for any value of time (flat curves) this says that the maximum of the temperatures obtained at the level of the substrate in the axial direction (Z axis) are maximum at the interface between the flow and the substrate (i.e. the contact surface at the centerline), and the maximum of the temperatures obtained at the substrate in the radial direction (y-axis) are maximum at the center of the substrate (i.e. x=0 and y= 0)
