IS EMPLOYMENT INTENTION AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE INFLUENCED BY ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE?

This study explores the relationship between organizational culture types (clan, adhocracy, hierarchy, and market) and Generation Z\u27s (Gen Z) intentions to work for companies embodying strong cultures, as well as their interest in learning about these cultures during job interviews. It integrates Social Identity Theory (SIT) to understand how alignment between personal and organizational values influences engagement. A survey of 101 young respondents utilized multiple regression analysis to assess these relationships. Results indicated that clan culture significantly correlates with the intention to work in a company with a strong culture, reflecting Gen Z\u27s preference for collaborative and community-oriented environments. Conversely, adhocracy culture exhibited a negative relationship with the intention to work, suggesting a disinterest in fast-paced, innovative settings that may lack stability, even as there exists a curiosity about such cultures during interviews. Market culture showed a positive association, indicating Gen Z\u27s attraction to competitive environments with clear success metrics. Notably, the hierarchy culture yielded no significant preference among respondents, emphasizing a generational shift away from rigid structures. The findings underscore Gen Z\u27s desire for meaningful, stable workplaces that align with their values, while also valuing environments that offer opportunities for achievement and growth. Organizations aiming to attract and retain Gen Z talent must balance innovation with community orientation, stability, and purpose. This study contributes to the literature by illustrating the nuanced preferences of a new generation entering the workforce, indicating a need for adaptable organizational practices that resonate with younger employees’ evolving expectations. Future research should delve deeper into these dynamics to support effective talent retention strategies in an ever-changing labor landscape

CREATIVITY IN MUSIC EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH: CHOICE OF TOPIC

Human functioning in a dynamically changing reality requires creativity. In this context, the author draws attention to the potential of music education in building a creative attitude among the young generation. The author also mentions activities that stimulate students’ creative potential through musical activity, the inspiration for which can be found in recognized concepts of musical education, the achievements of R. Steiner, R. Laban, C. Freinet and M. Montessori, as well as in art therapy and pedagogy of play. Referring to the four-aspect paradigm of creativity, the author presents her own proposals for activities (group instrumental improvisation Music That Will Scare the Lion and the socalled "painting music" to Spring from the Four Seasons series by A. Vivaldi) stimulating the progression of creative skills on musical material and their evaluation. Noticing the difficulties and pitfalls in implementing the process of music education aimed at developing creative potential, she calls for changes in the existing school practice in Poland in the field of music education for the young generation

YOUNG SCIENTISTS ALTERNATIVE CAREER PATHS - THEORETICAL CONSIDERATIONS

A career at a university is a special and unique kind of professional activity, and it also involves adopting a specific lifestyle. It is a profession that offers great freedom and is commonly driven by passion. The literature indicates that a doctoral degree builds prestige and recognition according to society, but from the labour market perspective (employers), an employee holding one can expect a high salary. Unlike other employees in the incentive system, he may be perceived as a threat because of his qualifications and career aspirations, but he may also lack practice. They may also be outstanding specialists in a specific field, advisors, and entrepreneurs. The research competencies acquired and shaped in the course of study at doctoral school are not equivalent to the competencies expected by the labour market and, thus, by employers. A break in work experience due to training at doctoral school and dedicating oneself exclusively to research may generate difficulties in finding employment. Young researchers may not find employment at university due to a lack of posts, but they may also not want to continue their careers in science. In both cases, it is very intriguing to see what paths they can choose with a doctoral degree, whether they know about them, and which they prefer

TRANSLATIONS OF THE POETRY OF VILIS PLŪDONS THROUGH THE PRISM OF TIME

The article addresses an understudied topic – translations of the Latvian classic poet Vilis Plūdons, whose 150th anniversary is being celebrated this year. Due to historical and political constraints, most of the poet’s works have been translated into Russian. The first translations of Latvian classics appeared at the beginning of the 20th century when Latvia was still part of the Russian Empire – Plūdons was published alongside other Latvian writers in the first collection of Latvian literature translated into Russian and prepared in close collaboration with the Russian Symbolists. The poet’s works were also included in the anthologies of Latvian poetry published in Russian during the first independence period. However, Plūdons was mostly translated during the Soviet years – during the occupation of Latvia, when anthologies, poetry collections, and selections were purposely published to introduce Latvian literature to Soviet readers in the context of general Russification. Plūdons’ children’s poetry, which was relatively free from censorship, was translated particularly extensively during this period. The most recent translations were published in Bauska, the poet’s birthplace, in the 21st century. The present article chronologically examines the translations listed in the Latvian Library Union catalogue, focusing on the analysis of the translations of the poet’s best-known poems in the context of the history of literature. The article reveals how the poet’s work is treated in every given period and how this influences the choice and interpretation of the source texts. It also focuses on the personalities of the key translators. The study concludes that, in general, the translations of Plūdons’ poetry attest to the historical trends in the translation of Latvian classical poetry, and that contemporary translations tend to showcase the poet as a man of his region and as an author of children’s poetry

INNOVATE TO CAPTIVATE: A LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF CREATIVITY BEYOND BRAND NAMES

The creation of brand names represents an important domain of language use in the contemporary business environment, with profound implications for consumer perception and brand identity. Nowadays, proper word choice has become even more relevant because of severe competition and the ever-growing supply of goods and services. Therefore, a widely chosen brand name can help businesses improve their visibility in a crowded market and project a favourable image. This paper examines the linguistic aspects of brand name formation in three different languages: English, Lithuanian and Turkish. It emphasizes the importance of language in determining the effectiveness and value of brand names in contemporary consumer society. The conducted research applied a theoretical framework to examine the most prevalent structures of brand name creation. It also provides the analysis of how linguistic features such as phonetic appeal, semantic connotations and pragmatic considerations influence the distinctiveness and memorability of brand names. The research findings maybe be relevant to start-ups or any organizations that want to be successful, easily recognizable and associated with trust and credibility

The aim of this study was to determine the floristic composition of weeds in apple orchards and to compare the efficacy in controlling annual dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous weed species of an innovative formulation of Pendimethalin 45.5% CS (microcapsules suspension) with two classical formulations: Pendimethalin 33% EC (emulsifiable concentrate) and Pendimethalin 40% SC (concentrated suspension). The research was carried out in 2020 at Research-Development Institute for Plant Protection, Bucharest and Moara Domnească Didactic Farm, Ilfov. These weed species were found in the experimental fields: Echinochloa crus-galli, Digitaria sanguinalis, Setaria spp., Capsella bursa-pastoris, Erigeron annuus, Galium aparine, Stellaria media, Daucus carota, Euphorbia spp., Veronica spp., Chenopodium album, Amaranthus spp., Polygonum spp., Sonchus oleraceus, Galinsoga parviflora, Solanum nigrum and Anagalis arvensis. Experimental plots were placed in randomized blocks, in 4 repetitions with a plot area of 20 m2 , each Pendimethalin formulation being tested in 3 different doses. The results obtained showed that Pendimethalin-based herbicides provided good protection of apple orchards against annual weeds. The best results were obtained at higher doses of Pendimethalin as well as in experimental samples in which the active substance is protected in microscopic capsules that prevent the premature dispersion of Pendimethalin

THE INFLUENCE OF A STRONG CORPORATE CULTURE ON THE COMPANY´S POSITION IN A COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT

The heart of every organization is corporate culture. Like this important organ of the human body, corporate culture can be strong, weak, and show signs of malfunctioning. If a person\u27s heart fails, his life ends, if a company\u27s corporate culture fails, its entire functioning within the competitive environment is threatened. A strong corporate culture is usually identified by the mission, values, motivation and loyalty of employees and customers. A weak corporate culture manifests itself in low morale, increased turnover, insufficient innovation, talent loss and a bad reputation. The content of our contribution will be how corporate culture can positively and negatively influence the functioning of the organization and what all can have an impact on these facts. Changes in the business environment are associated with changes in the setting and priorities of corporate cultures. Currently, completely new and specifically focused corporate cultures are emerging that are innovative and progressive

THE CHILD AT THE CENTRE OF RESEARCH

In recent years there has been an increasing interest in research on children\u27s \u27voice\u27 and its influence on social processes. It is only in the last two decades that significant economic, institutional and academic developments have led to the participation of children as agents who act independently and to their recognition as \u27experts regarding their own lives\u27. In 1989, the International Convention on the Rights of the Child acknowledged that the very young children are entitled to experience a sense of belonging and to feel that they have the freedom to express their own intentions, thus influencing various aspects of their life. Active listening is not only an expression of children\u27s rights, but also an ethical and democratic practice. The aim of our study is to explore appropriate practices to highlight the "voice" of younger children aged 3-5 years in a Greek learning environment and to employ it in research data. Using appropriate tools and approaches, children of this age can express thoughts, feelings and attitudes on issues that concern them, whether they relate to their interaction with ‘significant others’ in their lives or their preferred play. Using a qualitative research methodology, our preliminary results argue for the confirmation that children living in a democratically responsive learning environment, whether in a family or educational context, can understand their place in life and act as active citizens as they grow up
