The article examines the problem of the influence of mass media on the formation of the personality of adolescence, in particular, on the experience of certain mental states by adolescents. It was established that in the era of globalization and informatization, a complex information society is being created, which is based on the most modern and rapidly developing technologies. Impact of Banditry Kidnapping and Terrorism on School Administration Teachers Job Performance and Students Academic Performance and Students Enrolment in Educational Institutions in Nigeria
This paper examined the impact of banditry, kidnapping and terrorist activities on Nigerian educational institutions (tertiary institutions, secondary schools and basic education). This study is a review paper. The study employed a documentary research method, depending on secondary data that were collected from online and print publications, while the method of data analysis was content analysis. The paper established that insecurity challenges have disrupted school administration, teacher’s job performance, students’ academic performance and enrolment, retention and completion of education programmes in respective educational institutions across the country. Based on this, the paper recommended improved school security, implementation of a safe school initiative programme and increment in funding of educational institutions to enable school administration to acquire adequate security gadgets. All educational institutions in Nigeria should be provided with a fence. CCTV cameras should be deployed to monitor the school environment. School administrators, teachers and students should be trained on security tips
Review of Academic Staff Level of Motivation and Motivational Strategies for Tertiary Institutions Sustainable Development
oai:ojs2.publishingjournals.org:article/2This paper is a review paper and it investigates the level of Academic staff Motivation and motivational strategies for tertiary institutions sustainable development in Nigeria. Secondary data were used in the paper presentation. The data were collected from online publications and print materials. The paper discovered that the level of motivation of academic staff of tertiary institutions in Nigeria is low and poor and the factors responsible for the low and poor level of motivation among academic staff of tertiary institutions in Nigeria include; poor salaries, inadequate infrastructure facilities, poor access to research grant, poor payment of earned allowance, later payment of salaries, poor staff training programme, unconducive working environment and poor involvement in decision making. The paper also identified increments in salaries, prompt payment of salaries, payment of earned allowance, provision of adequate infrastructure facilities, effective staff training programme, provision of adequate research grants, and provision of a conducive working environment as motivational strategies for motivating academic staff and for tertiary institutions sustainable development in Nigeria
