Dears for My Dear Students’ Reading Comprehension
No full textThe research aimed to determine the effect of DEARS on the reading comprehension of Grade 11 Turmeric students in Tacloban National Agricultural School. The target population was given a reading comprehension pretest to identify the study's sample respondents. Out of 30 students, 28 belonged to the Frustration level. They served as samples of the study and went through the intervention. The pretest mean is 6.1786 and 19.7500 in the posttest, which marked a significant difference between the scores. The students' reflections revealed that the impact of an intervention on students proved to develop their interest in reading, boost self-confidence, and gain lessons in life. The implementation of DEARS is effective since it increases students' reading levels at a .0 level of significance. However, few of the students fell in frustration level in the posttest. Therefore, with the remaining students under the frustration level after the intervention, an extended program period must be considered to elevate them to an independent level. Since DEARS is significantly effective in Grade 11 Turmeric students, full implementation of the program must be given to all Grade 11 students and revalidation to Grade 7 as the door to secondary education. This program is recommended to fellow English teachers as an effective intervention to improve learners' reading comprehension skills

Perception on Lesson Study of Junior High School Teachers in the New Normal Education
No full textoai:ojs2.univerpubl.com:article/2The author-initiated lesson study with twelve teachers consisting of four from the Science department, four from English department and four from math department at Manuel Roxas High School. The implementation of Lesson Study during the school year 2021-2022 involves four stages: planning, lesson implementation, discussion, and reflection. This presentation discusses the results of a survey and interviews conducted to determine the perception of the 12 teachers involved in lesson study as well as to inform planning of future school-based professional development programs. The survey questionnaire was made by the researcher and was validated. The survey questionnaire included issues regarding the degree of information received by the teachers about lesson study, the extent of the implementation, benefits gained from lesson study, difficulties encountered and recommendation of lesson study to other teachers. The survey and interview results showed that teachers who have played a vital role in the implementation are well informed about lesson study. The survey showed that the basic steps in the implementations were accomplished and worked favorably. The maximum benefit of the Lesson Study Program is yet to be achieved but positive signs are encouraging. The teachers are committed to work together to ensure that the program is sustained. Teachers having encountered difficulties on more work and no common vacant time for the observation of lesson implementation and lack of familiarity with the Lesson Study during the preliminary implementation
Implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation and Education in Emergencies of Public Schools in Region VIII
No full textThe study assessed the implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation, and Education in Emergencies of Public Schools in Region VIII. The study determined the profile of the elementary and junior secondary school heads and teachers in terms of field of specialization, seminar and in-service trainings and attitude towards Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation, and Education in Emergencies, their level of implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation, and Education in Emergencies and the differences in their perception and relationship between their level of implementation and their profile.
The descriptive-correlation method was employed in the study. The findings of the study revealed that most respondents did not receive any training on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation, and Education in Emergencies but have a positive attitude towards the program and perceived it as implemented. Results revealed that there was no significant difference on the ratings between respondents on the extent of implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation, and Education in Emergencies. The field of specialization of respondents did not affect their level of implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation, and Education in Emergencies.
It is highly recommended that the Department of Education Region VIII to adapt the intervention program proposed in the study in order to improve the level of implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation, and Education in Emergencies in all schools in the region

No full textThis paper discusses the causes, effects, present state, reality, aspirations, and predictions of climate change from 2012 to 2026. It was noted that despite climate being a natural occurrence, humans are the major cause of the changes in climate through diverse activities such as the emission of greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, CFCs, N2O), and deforestation. These causes have led to the current state of the climate which has led to extreme global temperatures and weather conditions such as floods. The study propounded some remedies to the climate crisis including early warning and sensitization through Environmental education, climate action and finance, and climate mitigations and adaptions. The discussion of the study could help in planning activities in organising an initial educational sensitization programme about climate change
Arterial Hypertension and Covid-19
No full textTaking into account the number of victims of a new coronavirus infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19), on March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared a pandemic. Since December 2019, when the first case of SARS was detected in China, the first data have appeared on the characteristics of the course of infection in patients with various diseases. In particular, there have been reports of a greater susceptibility to infection in individuals with cardiovascular disease and, in particular, arterial hypertension, and a significantly higher risk of adverse outcomes in this group of patients. We present an analysis of the currently available publications regarding coronavirus infection in people with arterial hypertension. The article touches upon the issues of risks in patients with arterial hypertension against the background of coronavirus infection, including those associated with antihypertensive therapy (including blockers of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system), and approaches to the management of such patients
