Developing EFL learners’ Listening Comprehension through Listening Strategy Instruction

    Get PDF
This study investigated the impact of explicit listening strategy instruction on EFL learners' listening comprehension. It is an attempt to shed light on how explicit teaching of listening strategies can develop EFL Iraqi learners' listening comprehension. This study conducted an experimental design with pre- and post-test procedures. 60 Iraqi EFL learners in their fourth year in the Department of English Language at the university level were chosen randomly to participate in the study. The participants were assigned into two groups: experimental group (N = 30) and control group (N = 30). Unlike the latter, the former received explicit listening strategy instruction. For data collection, the Cambridge IELTS listening test was employed. The listening tests were given to both groups before and after the intervention. The experiment lasted for eight weeks i.e. two hours per week. According to the results, it has been shown that listening strategy instruction had a powerful impact on developing Iraqi EFL learners' listening comprehension. That is, the findings suggested that explicit strategy instruction improves EFL learners' listening comprehension

Our main active ingredients Pumpkin (Latin) fruit and Abu Jakhl Watermelon (Bryonia alba L) alone are too weak to create biologically active supplements against the diseases listed in the literature. Therefore, based on the results of experiments, we have proposed the following biologically active additives from the dry extracts and oils obtained above

Primary Sources for Selection of Creating Exportable New Grape Varieties in Uzbekistan

    Get PDF
The article revealed that in recent years crossbreeding in grape breeding is carried out in very rare cases, and the reasons for this are discussed in terms of approaches. Breeding research requires at least 10-12 years. Since it was a long time ago, scientists did not pay much attention to breeding work. In addition, there is interest in in vitro grape varieties imported from abroad. There are 1820 grape collections in our republic. Here are some ideas on how to work with existing collections and how to use varieties that are not appropriate for the region. Here are some ideas on how to work with existing collections and how to use varieties that are not appropriate for the region. Academician M.Mirzaev HV and WSRI carried out breeding work on 10 varieties in 2022. The purpose of the research is to identify grape varieties that are resistant to heat, cold and soil salinity, as well as large-fruited

Use of Soy Flour in a Balanced Diet

    Get PDF
This article discusses the possibility of using soy flour as a food additive in order to expand the range of finished products and to enrich vegetable fillings with complete proteins containing essential amino acids. It also provides the results of the use of secondary food products, in particular the use of radish leaves, which are thrown into waste, after the use of root crops, both in catering establishments and housewives, although it is rich in vitamins and minerals that are necessary for the human body, which have phytoncidal properties

Assessing the Potential of Using Sheep's Wool to Fertilise Beans in the Context of Ensuring Nutritional Safety

    Get PDF
The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of using sheep wool as a fertiliser in bean cultivation. Converting the nitrogen contained in wool which is a waste product in meat sheep production into food protein could be a strategic element of a closed loop economy in the Central Asian region. The adopted objective was realised based on a vegetation experiment established on a bean farm near the town of Talas in northern Kyrgyzstan. The experiment was implemented in 2020. The experimental factor was different doses of wool applied pre-sowing. The results of the realised experiment indicate that sheep's wool can be an effective fertiliser in bean cultivation and under the climatic and soil conditions of Kyrgyzstan, the transformation of keratin contained in wool into food protein is effective. The applied wool was not only a source of nutrients for plants, but also influenced the intensification of atmospheric nitrogen fixation by symbiotic bacteria. In order to optimise the technology of bean cultivation in the Central Asian region, it is necessary to continue research on the degree of utilisation of nutrients contained in wool and to determine the sustainability of changes in the biological physicochemical and chemical properties of the soil. At the same time, it is important to promote increasing the share of beans in the diet of societies whose diet is traditionally based on mutton

Productivity of Potato Variety Belmonda under Folio-Root Treatment with Humic Preparations

    Get PDF
We studied the effect of fertilization systems and foliar treatment with humic preparations on the productivity of potato variety Belmonda. A field experiment was laid to study productivity when using various types of humic preparations with organic, mineral and organomineral fertilizers using the method of split plots in triplicate. Double foliar feeding of potato plantings was carried out with a tank mixture of the studied humic preparations with a fungicide. Against the background with an organomineral fertilizer system, the yield of marketable tubers was 43.3%, while against the background without fertilizers it was 16.4%. With an organic fertilizer system, the number of tubers in the seed fraction increases from 25.7 to 31.7%. Against the mineral background, there was a decrease in the number of small fraction tubers from 57.9 to 52.9%
