Biodegradable films were prepared using fish skins treated with silver nanoparticles and gelatin as biodegradable polymers. Different volume of silver nanoparticle solution (15, 10, and 5 ml) were used in producing the edible films. the films were evaluated for their inhibitory effectiveness against some types of bacteria that cause food spoilage. The results showed that the gelatin films containing 10 ml of silver nanoparticle solution gave effective activity against Bacteria for all strains tested. The results also showed an improvement in the mechanical properties of the coating supported with silver nanoparticles, as the thickness increased to 0.9 mm compared to the regular control gelatin film of 0.5 mm. Therefore, the tensile strength and elongation rate of the nano-silver treated films increased compared to the control regular coatings. The results also showed that the solubility of the regular gelatin film was 45.2% which significantly diffed from the solubility of the Nano-silver gelatin treated film, which recorded approximately half the solubility (23.3%)

Background: Hyperprolactinemia is the most prevalent endocrine disorder in the hypothalamic-pituitary axis. The common causes of hyperprolactinemia can be medications, hypothyroidism, and pituitary disorders. Hypothyroidism and hyperprolactinemia are found to be closely interrelated. Prevalence of hyperprolactinemia in subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) has been reported in a wide range of 0%– 40% of hypothyroid patients. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and predictors of hyperprolactinemia in subclinical hypothyroidism in Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital in Bagdad, Iraq.  Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Internal Medicine and in the diabetes and endocrinology center at Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital for nine months. A total of 95 patients who were diagnosed with SCH were recruited in this study. SCH was diagnosed when there are no specific symptoms or signs of thyroid dysfunction, but the patient has an elevated serum TSH in the face of normal circulating thyroid hormone levels. A study questionnaire was designed, and it included baseline characteristics and signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism. Seven ml of fasting blood samples was taken from all the studied patients and sent to the laboratory to measure the required biochemical parameters. Student t-test was used for comparison, and quantitative data were stated as the mean and standard deviation. Pearson correlation was calculated for the correlation between two quantitative variables. P value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The prevalence of hyperprolactinemia was 21.1%. The proportion of hyperprolactinemia was significantly higher among female patients compared to that in male patients. The mean level of TSH was significantly higher in patients with high prolactin levels when compared to those with normal prolactin levels. On the other hand, the mean levels of pulse rate, T3, and LH were significantly lower in patients with high prolactin levels than that in patients with normal prolactin levels. Conclusions: Hyperprolactinemia is a considerable problem in patients who complained from SCH, especially in females. The most common signs and symptoms associated with hyperprolactinemia are dry skin, weight gain, constipation, psychosis madness, menorrhagia, and galactorrhea. Evaluation of serum prolactin levels in patients with SCH, especially those with the associated signs and symptoms, is recommended

Any extreme factors acting on the body provides oxidative stress, which, being a universal system that destroys the cellular structures of the body, is currently being thoroughly studied in various pathological conditions around the world. At the same time, the prooxidant, antioxidant system, and indicators of endogenous intoxication of MSM254 and MSM280 in violation of the reproductive system of females in the post-intensive care period have been insufficiently studied. The aim of this study is to identify the reactivity of the autonomic nervous system, the content of estradiol, malondialdehyde, catalase and indicators of endogenous intoxication in female rats in the post-intensive care period after modeling 10-minute clinical death. The object of the study was 15 mongrel, white, sexually mature female rats weighing from 160-180 g., in which the state of post-intensive care disease was simulated. In the early post-intensive care period, within 24 hours after modeling a 10-minute clinical death in the body of female rats during estrus and diestrus. It was revealed against the background of a predominance of the tone of the sympathetic nervous system, increased concentrations of estradiol, malondialdehyde and the index of endogenous intoxication - MSM 254 against the background of a decrease in catalase activity and protein stability index
