Marketing plan to boost a self-published literary project by a novel author
Finalmente, se concluye que el proyecto es rentableThe starting point is the profile of an author who has registered as a self-employed freelancer, with the intention of debuting with a fantasy novel. To achieve this, an action plan has been developed to help the entrepreneur establish a presence in the Ibero-American publishing market. The advantages and disadvantages of self-publishing have been analyzed, and it has been concluded that this option would yield greater benefits than traditional publishing. However, there are highly reputable publishing houses that, although they offer a low royalty percentage per book sold, perform significant marketing and distribution efforts through the main book purchasing channels, which could lead to higher income due to an increase in the number of copies sold. To attract the attention of these publishers and build a brand identity that allows the entrepreneur to attain the status of a professional writer, several market analyses have been conducted to develop a tactical marketing plan. Finally, a forecast of income and expenses has been prepared, taking into account the investment made in hiring professional services for the creation of the product and the royalty percentages offered by Amazon. In conclusion, the project is considered profitableDoble Grado en Administración y Dirección de Empresas y Economí
Design of a control management model for the MMC S.S. company

being studied and act accordingly. It is a collaborative system between managers and
employees that aims to identify, retain and reward the best talent in addition to minimizing
turnover within the company and maximizing the income of the best performing
employees. In the performance management process, we can identify three participants, on the one hand, the employee or evaluated, who will define his own objectives subsequently
reviewed by his hierarchical superior, who oversees globally evaluating each employee

will oversee the correct functioning of the entire process and who will make decisions
regarding the start or end of the process, the duration of each stage or making the
necessary modifications so that the evaluations are carried out. out correctly. For this process to be carried out correctly, it is essential that there is great transparency and communication between the manager and the employee, in addition to setting realistic objectives whose achievement is easy to quantify. Currently, companies are opting for a model with fewer formalities than the traditional model and are opting for informal conversations to receive continuous feedback. There are multiple possibilities when implementing performance management software, normally the manager enters the different grades of his employees' evaluations into the system and through the agreed weights a final grade is reached. Additionally, the final grade is usually accompanied by comments on the achievement of the objectives or identified improvement needs. The number of stages of the cycle or their duration differs from one company to another since it will be adapted to the needs of each specific organization. In any case, the human resources manager will have the power to make changes at any stage of the cycle, in addition to deciding when the transition from one milestone to the next occursDoble Grado en Derecho y Administración y Dirección de Empres
Women and medical practice in Roma: the figure of the "obstetrix"
In the current context of the Humanities research, it is widely demonstrated that
women have played an active role in work through History. There are numerous studies
focused on the Roman world on this topic. The main objective of this work is to analyze
the role of women in the professional field of medicine, with special attention to the figure
of obstetrices. Moreover, the imagen that the sources convey of this profession will be
examined. Given the literary texts offer little information about female work in Roman
times, the analysis of archaeological data and, especially, epigraphy will be key to
reconstructing the function of the obstetrix in Roman times.Máster Del Mediterráneo al Atlántico: La Construcción de Europa entre el Mundo Antiguo y Medieva

Optimized microfluidic platform for the selective recovery of critical materials from aqueous mixtures
This work reports the optimization strategy for the design of a microfluidic platform to achieve the separation and recovery of aqueous mixtures of rare earth elements (REEs); the work showcases the separation of dysprosium, neodymium and lanthanum using microextraction modules with an organic phase constituted of Cyanex® 572 diluted in Shellsol® D70. An optimization model has been developed to assist in the design of the number of stages (microextractors, settling tanks and mixer and splitter units) and the best operational conditions that maximize the separation and recovery targets. Results predicted by the model with a configuration composed of 4 microreactors have been experimentally evaluated. Starting with 1 mM equimolar REE mixtures and 301 mM Cyanex® 572 as the organic phase, the model shows that REE recovery and concentration improve with an increasing number of microextractors. Using eight microextractors, along with optimised pH and recycling, recoveries exceed 92 %, purities reach 93 %, and concentrations are at least six times higher than the feed. The REEs extraction microfluidic platform has been 3D printed with a modular LEGO® type design that fa cilitates reconfiguration and scalability. Together with the optimisation model, this platform represents a valuable tool for the design and implementation of future critical element mixtures microextraction applications. This work received financial assistance from project PID2021-123120OB-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033 and ERDF/EU, and project PDC2022-133122-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033 and the European Union NextGenerationEU/ PRTR. Approach to chronic wounds: gap between theory and practice
Chronic wounds are a current health problem in today's society, whose prevalence is increasing.
These injuries affect the quality of life of patients, not only physically but also psychologically.
Furthermore, they represent a high economic expense for the healthcare system.
For this reason, for the development of this monograph, an analysis of the existing evidence,
from the last five years, on the management of chronic wounds, was conducted. This analysis
reveals a gap between current scientific evidence and healthcare practices. This tiggers the
implementation of some non-evidence-based practices during wound care, which leads to a
delay in the healing of injuries, as well as an increase in expense.
The objective is to analyze the latest evidence on chronic wound management, describing some
non-evidence-based practices and myths that persist in healthcare practice, with the aim of
promoting evidence-based nursing that provides quality care.
Therefore, the prevention and holistic and comprehensive approach to these wounds is
essential, requiring quality nursing care.Grado en Enfermerí
Economic burden of secondary progressive multiple sclerosis: DISCOVER study
Background: To estimate the socioeconomic burden of people with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (pwSPMS), considering direct health care, direct non-health care, and indirect costs, and to evaluate the relationship between costs and patients' functional outcomes.
Methods: Observational, cross-sectional, multicenter study with retrospective real-life clinical practice data collection from pwSPMS visiting the neurology services of 34 hospitals during 2019?2020. Clinical data included Expanded Disability Status Scale scores, number of relapses, magnetic resonance imaging, disease-modifying treatment (DMT), symptoms, and comorbidities from 24 months before the study visit. Resource use and allied costs were collected 12 months before the study visit. Patient-reported outcomes, functional and cognitive scales were also collected.
Results: 70% of pwSPMS used primary care services, and nearly 50% needed assistance in a daycare or rehabilitation center. Almost 60% of the participants were receiving DMT at the study visit, and 80% needed support for domestic/housekeeping tasks. More than 90% were inactive at work, with nearly 80% taking early retirement. The estimated total annual cost per pwSPMS in Spain was almost €41,500, of which more than 50% (€21,400) were indirect costs, followed by direct health care costs (30%, €11,300), and, finally, direct non-health care costs (about 20%, €8,800). Older patients with severe disabilities and worse functional outcomes incurred higher costs.
Conclusions: SPMS is a major burden on health care systems, patients, and society as a whole. Health care and societal policies should be aimed at improving the SPMS care pathway and minimizing patients? funding of direct non-health care costs. This study was funded by Novartis Farmacéutica, S.A. Atmospheric circulation patterns and climate change : a comprehensive analysis of the Jenkinson-Collison classification for its application in process-based model evaluation
Climate change is altering the atmospheric circulation that governs much of regional climate, modifying the frequency and intensity of extreme events such as heatwaves, heavy rainfall, or droughts. Understanding how this circulation evolves is key to anticipate regional climate impacts, improve climate models, and design effective adaptation strategies. There is a wide range of Global Climate Models capable of representing the general characteristics of the climate at a global scale. However, they exhibit significant discrepancies and biases in their representation of atmospheric circulation, making it difficult to reach a robust and consensual diagnosis of projected changes, particularly at regional scales. This thesis explores the use of synoptic classification schemes, specifically the Jenkinson–Collison weather type (JC-WT) method, as a tool to analyse and project changes in extratropical atmospheric circulation on global scale. Based on reanalysis data and climate model simulations (CMIP5 and CMIP6), the work assesses the global applicability of the method, its sensitivity to main modes of climate variability, the ability of models to reproduce observed synoptic patterns in the historical period, and the emergence of anthropogenic signals in the coming decades. This PhD Thesis has been developed in the framework of the national project “Contribución española al ATLAS del IPCC-AR6: Desarrollo y problemas científicos” (ATLAS, PID2019-111481RB-I00), through a grant from the FPI program (PRE2020-094728), funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación – Agencia Estatal de Investigación (MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) and ESF investing in your future.
