    This paper is an abecedarian study of Lahiri’s description of women characters from her short story collection –“Interpreter of Maladies”. The core objective of this paper is to demonstrate how Lahiri’ depiction of female roles, by and large, dealwith Indians settled abroad negotiating between two cultures; with varying degrees of success, their attitudes, their concerns and their life styles set in Bengal and Boston.     The purpose of this study is to understand preferably the differential impact of disabled children on their families. Since all families go through ups and downs, and those ups and downs may alter the family structure in various forms like financial and development problems may arise, also their children may be affected as they grow and mature. Families may be exposed to many stress factors such as: a divorce, a family dispute, a death, a child with disabilities etc. The aim of this article is to focus mainly on the impact of the disabled children on the socio economic and other conditions of their families. The sample size that we have taken is 200 and it has been randomly chosen among different villages to provide true representation of the population. The sample units are drawn at random without showing any regard to the characteristics of the population units. To get information from the study, interview schedules and self-developed questionnaire were used. The data obtained was compiled and analyzed using simple statistics. The present study also highlights the governmental and societal response towards disabled children

    The franchises restaurant industry can be considered as part of big segment termed food processing sector but the scope is limited to ready to consume food material. The term Franchises restaurant can be referred to any food material that can be prepared and served very quickly. While any meal with low preparation time can be considered to be franchises restaurant, typically the term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with less infrastructural facilities and served to the customer in a packaged form or may not be in packaged form for consuming on the spot or for taking away. The present study employs descriptive research in the form of a survey undertaken to quantify the salience of the attitudes influencing the buying behavior of consumers in franchising restaurant. The Chennai city is purposively selected for the present study since it is the predominating trade center for Tamil Nadu. The attitudes for buying behavior of the consumers in the restaurant were analyzed by calculating the weighted mean score and the results are presented in Table 8. In over all, the consumers were agreed with all the attitudinal dimensions. From the table, it is inferred that buying branded restaurant is important to me, i know the price i pay for most of the foods i buy, i make purchase decisions based on taste, i buy based on quality, not price, A server may influence me to consider or buy a foods, I make purchase decisions based on taste , My children have a significant impact on the foods I choose, I know the price I pay for most of the foods I buy, My spouse has a significant impact on the foods I choose with attractive, I like to shop around before making a purchase, I like to change foods often for the sake of variety, I always check the ingredients and nutritional content. , it was inferred that there was a significant differences between the attitudes influencing the purchasing behavior in the restaurant.Vol. 2, Issue-IMay 201

    Malnutrition is one of the major public health problems in developing countries. Growing children at particular ages were the most vulnerable to its consequences. Children are the future citizens and are the potential assets of any country. Proper nutrition is the fundamental right of every child for the maintenance of good health. A proper diet is essential from an early stage of life as well as each stage of life. The health status of school children is associated with proper physical development, intellectual capacity, and access to health care. Malnutrition at the early phase among children affects their physical, and intellectual development (Sanjay Rode, 2015). The present study was conducted to assess the prevalence of malnutrition among 107 school children of Primary School in Tumkur taluk of Tumkur district in Karnataka state. Children were selected aged between 5 to 16 years. The main objective of the study is to know the prevalence of malnutrition status among Dalit children and the impact of the socio-economic conditions on their nutritional status. Data includes Anthropometric measurement according to Gomez classification of malnutrition based on standard height for age and weight for height, and clinical assessment of anemia status of the children with the help of Ayush medical officer. The data was analyzed by using a simple statistical method. The majority of the government school children belong to poor households and the Prevalence level of malnutrition is high among these Dalit children
