Performance Analysis of Improved Subcarrier Index Modulation OFDM Using a Novel Decision Rule over AWGN Link
Subcarrier Index Modulation Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (SIM-OFDM) is a modulation technique that extends information transmission beyond conventional subcarriers, incorporating their presence or absence. However, inaccurate determination of subcarrier status at the receiver can result in a high Bit Error Rate (BER). In response, this paper introduces an enhanced version named Improved SIM-OFDM (iSIM-OFDM). iSIM-OFDM employs a novel decision rule based on the summation of absolute values of the real and imaginary parts of each received symbol. Through simulations conducted over an Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) link using Python, we performed a comparative study with conventional SIM-OFDM, specifically focusing on the electrical energy-per-bit per noise ratio Eb⁄N0 for various constellation sizes. The results reveal that iSIM-OFDM outperforms conventional SIM-OFDM in terms of BER performance, achieving a maximum gain in Eb⁄N0 of up to 2dB. This improvement is followed by the added advantage of reduced computational complexity while maintaining equivalent spectral efficiency. Furthermore, in the context of Power Reallocation Policy (PRP) versus Power Saving Policy (PSP), iSIM-OFDM achieves a gain of approximately 3 dB in Eb⁄N0 with PRP. Additionally, iSIM-OFDM demonstrates similar BER performance in PRP policy with only half the transmitted power compared to PSP policy. Considering these aspects, iSIM-OFDM emerges as a robust candidate in wireless communication fields where energy constraints are stringent, and rapid computational processing is imperative
The Psychoanalysis (Id, Ego, And Superego) In X- Men: First Class Movie
Characters in literature are individuals portrayed in a story who possess moral, intellectual, and emotional qualities inferred from their dialogue and actions. They are the people within a narrative, each with their own distinct personalities and behaviors. Therefore, the characters hold an important role in a movie. The characters can be seen through the psychoanalysis approach. The researchers through this research aims to find out the Id, Ego, and Superego found in Erik Lehnsherr's character depicted in X-Men: First Class movie. The character of Erik Lehnsherr’s as a mutant attracts the interest of the researchers to use the psychoanalysis theory proposed by Sigmund Freud. The researchers conduct the research using qualitative method. After collecting and analyzing the data, the researchers found 23 data of Erik Lehnsherr’s id, ego and superego in the X-Men: First Class movie. There are 6 data of Id, 10 data of Ego, and 7 data of Superego. Based on the analysis, it is evident that Erik's Id manifests in urgent situations, particularly those related to his mother, whom he deeply cares for. On the other hand, Erik's Ego becomes apparent when he is in a calmer state, allowing him to approach situations more logically while still being influenced by his impulsive and aggressive tendencies. Furthermore, Erik's Superego emerges when he is confronted with situations that conflict with his personal moral code, which has been shaped by his traumatic past as a mutant
Spatiotemporal Monitoring of Air Quality (PM10, SO2, & NO2) in Semarang City Using Landsat Satellite Imagery
Air quality is a critical environmental parameter, heavily influenced by local human activities. Intense human and industrial activities in large urban areas significantly degrade air quality, contributing to climate change and adversely affecting public health. Therefore, monitoring air quality in major cities is vital for ensuring environmental sustainability. This study aims to monitor air quality in the Mijen District of Semarang City, Indonesia, utilizing a spatiotemporal approach. The air quality parameters assessed in this study included PM10, SO2, and NO2, which were derived from Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 satellite imagery data. The analysis employed a spatiotemporal method based on the Global Moran’s I Index and the Local Indicator of Spatial Autocorrelation (LISA) to elucidate spatial distribution patterns and temporal trends. The results indicated that the air quality in the Mijen District of Semarang City—based on the parameters PM10, SO2, and NO2—largely met the Air Quality Standard Index thresholds. However, several locations exhibited significantly high pollution levels that formed clusters and showed temporal consistency. These high pollution levels were observed in specific land use areas, such as industrial zones, residential areas, and landfill sites. The lowest PM10 levels were recorded in April 2021 and June 2021, ranging from 0 to 19 µg/m3, with a spread over an area of 57 km2. The highest SO2 concentration was observed in August 2021, exceeding 300 ppm. Additionally, the highest NO2 distribution was also recorded in August 2021, with values ranging from 179 to 180 µg/m3

Stylistic Usage Of Hijab As Fashion Among Muslim Women In Southwestern Nigeria
Islamic standard of modesty requires that Muslim women use hijab to cover their heads, face, and body in the presence of any male outside their family members. Though there are many types of head coverings for Muslim women, such as chador, hijab, khimar, niqab, shaylar, and burqa, hijab is the only one that is being used as fashion. In contrast, the rest are used as religious garments. As important as this head covering among Muslim women, there is a dearth of literature on hijab usage in southwestern Nigeria because it is not well studied. The study examines the stylistic usage of hijab as fashion among Muslim women in southwestern Nigeria. The study aims to describe the head covering as both religious and fashionable garments, eventually adding to knowledge of hijab usage. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative approach to collect the data while the descriptive method is used to gather information and observation without intervening. The findings reveal that hijab is not only used for religious purposes but also as fashion for ladies who want to be trendy
Identification des Parasites Intestinaux isolés chez les Personnes Diagnostiquées à l'Hôpital General de Référence de Makala à Kinshasa en R.D.Congo
Intestinal parasites are widespread almost worldwide, and they are in large numbers in many regions, especially in Africa where promiscuity, lack of drinking water and sanitation facilities are felt. Indeed, according to estimates by the World Health Organization, the number of people infested with intestinal parasites is around 3.5 billion, and that of people suffering from parasitic diseases of the digestive tract is approximately 450 million. To produce this article, we used the experimental method that took place in the laboratory and concerned only coprological examinations. The results obtained indicate that more than half of the people diagnosed were parasitized by Ascaris lombricoides, i.e. 58.3%, followed by 30% of people who hosted Entamoeba histolytica and Necator americanus was isolated in 11.7% of the people diagnosed. Despite the efforts made to combat intestinal parasites in Kinshasa, the results of this study showed that these parasites remain a serious public health problem in our study environment
