Inset Fed Microstrip Patch Antenna Design for 5G Application at 28 GHz
This study describes the design, modelling, and performance assessment of an inset fed microstrip patch antenna (MPA) operating at a center frequency of 28 GHz that was created especially for 5G millimeter-wave (mmWave) applications. Key performance characteristics are significantly improved by the suggested antenna's strategic use of an inset feed mechanism to increase impedance matching and reduce reflection losses. According to thorough calculations carried out using HFSS software, the inset-fed antenna achieves a return loss of –29.8997 dB, demonstrating good impedance matching. Additionally, the design successfully covers the target frequency range needed for high-speed 5G communication systems with a large impedance bandwidth of 1135 MHz (27.47-28.605 GHz). A peak gain of 7.1328 dBi is another feature of the antenna that is necessary to provide adequate signal strength and coverage in small wireless devices. A comparison study is conducted against a traditional non-inset feeding MPA of comparable size in order to highlight the advantages of the inset-fed method. Findings validate the efficacy of the feeding approach by demonstrating that the inset-fed structure provides much increased radiation performance, a wider bandwidth, and dramatically enhanced return loss. Because of its small size, simplicity of construction, and effective radiation properties, the antenna is ideal for incorporation into systems and devices that will support 5G in the future. The feasibility of using inset-fed MPA for high-frequency wireless communication in the millimeter-wave range is confirmed by this work
Prévalence de l’hypertension artérielle chez les étudiants de l’Université de Mahajanga
Introduction : L'hypertension artérielle est un problème majeur de santé publique qui touche une proportion croissante de la population mondiale, notamment les jeunes adultes. Notre objectif était de déterminer la prévalence de l'hypertension artérielle chez les étudiants de l'Université de Mahajanga.Méthodes : Il s'agit d'une étude descriptive transversale que nous avons menée sur 3 mois (août à novembre 2022) auprès des étudiants de l'Université de Mahajanga sur le campus d'Ambondrona. L'hypertension artérielle était définie par une pression artérielle systolique de 140 mmHg et/ou diastolique de 90 mmHg.Résultats : Nous avons sélectionné 705 participants, d'un âge moyen de 22,81 ans et à prédominance masculine (sex-ratio = 2). La prévalence de l'hypertension était de 3,1 % (n = 22). Un seul étudiant (4,5 %) était conscient de son hypertension et ne suivait pas de traitement. Dans cette série, le sexe masculin et l'obésité abdominale étaient statistiquement significativement associés à l'hypertension avec respectivement p = 0,014 et p < 0,001.Conclusions : La prévalence de l'hypertension chez les étudiants universitaires constitue un avertissement sanitaire pour les jeunes. Le dépistage et l'éducation sont les meilleurs moyens de prévenir les complications et de prendre en charge l'hypertension précoce. Water Consumption Analysis of an Automated Irrigation System Based on Soil Moisture Monitoring
This article presents the development, implementation, and evaluation of an automated irrigation system designed for cotton cultivation on clay-sandy soil. Efficient irrigation management is essential for optimizing crop yield, particularly in soils with specific water retention characteristics. The proposed system integrates soil moisture sensors, solenoid valves, and a microcontroller-based control unit using an Arduino Uno board to automate the irrigation process. The water supply is managed through a 5000-liter reservoir, which is refilled by a 370-watt pump. The system operates based on soil moisture thresholds, activating the solenoid valves when the moisture level drops below 35 percent and deactivating them when it reaches 50 percent, ensuring optimal hydration for cotton growth.To assess system performance, experiments were conducted under different climatic conditions. The study includes a detailed analysis of soil moisture variation and water consumption in both sunny and cloudy conditions. Solar irradiation significantly influences soil evaporation, leading to differences in irrigation frequency and water usage. Under sunny conditions with a solar irradiation coefficient of 7929 watt-hours per square meter, moisture depletion occurs faster, requiring more frequent irrigation cycles. In contrast, under cloudy conditions with a reduced solar irradiation coefficient of 3172 watt-hours per square meter, soil moisture retention is prolonged, reducing water consumption.The results demonstrate that automated irrigation based on real-time soil moisture monitoring improves water efficiency while adapting to environmental variations, making it a sustainable solution for optimizing irrigation in cotton cultivation
Forecasting Study Of The Start, End And Duration Date Of The Tiomena Wind Season In Southern Madagascar By Artificial Neural Networks
Tiomena is a wind phenomenon that generally occurs after a long period of rain in southern Madagascar. But currently it is changing its behavior due to climate change. According to the results of analysis made on the fast Fourier transform and the maximum entropy method, we note that tiomena repeats twice in a year with two different periods, of different length and especially of different intensity
The Tendency of Burnout among Indonesian Employees
This study aims to provide a descriptive analysis of the tendency of burnout among Indonesian employees. Using a quantitative descriptive method, data were collected from 322 employees working in various companies and government agencies in Indonesia through a questionnaire. This research uses Burnout Assessment Tools (BAT) as the measurement tool. The findings reveal that the tendency of burnout among Indonesian employees was low.
Energy Transition Planning Modeling at Power Plants Using Renewable Energy in South Sumatra 2023-2040: Business as Usual (BaU) Scenario Using Low Emission Analysis Platform (LEAP) Software
Abstract —This study aims to model the energy transition planning in power plants in South Sumatra using renewable energy from 2023 to 2040 with a Business as Usual (BaU) scenario using the Low Emission Analysis Platform (LEAP) software. This analysis uses macroeconomic assumptions, population growth, and energy demand based on the latest data from the Central Statistics Agency and PLN's Electricity Statistics. Using the LEAP model, this study projects the primary and final energy needs for major sectors such as industry, transportation, households, and others. The results indicate that without new policies, energy demand will continue to increase, driving the need to adopt renewable energy technologies to ensure sustainable energy supply. This study provides insights into the importance of effective energy policies and technological innovations to meet increasing energy needs while reducing emissions and enhancing energy security in South Sumatra

Facteurs Déterminant La Fragmentation Du Paysage Forestier Dans La Forêt Classée Des Trois Rivières Et Sa Périphérie Au Nord-Est Du Bénin
La forêt classée des Trois Rivières et sa périphérie (FCTRP) subissent de fortes perturbations qui ont entrainé la fragmentation des formations naturelles. L’objectif de la présente recherche est de déterminer les facteurs déterminant la fragmentation des formations végétales dans la FCTRP. Quatre focus groups ont été réalisés auprès des personnes ressources et les entretiens directs auprès de 202 personnes. Les taux de réponse des enquêtés ont été calculés. Les perceptions des différents acteurs et des groupes sociolinguistiques ont été examinées par une analyse factorielle de correspondance (AFC), implémentée dans le logiciel IBM SPSS Statistics version 21. Il ressort des investigations que, les facteurs directs d’ordre anthropique participent le plus à la fragmentation des formations végétales dans la FCTRP que les facteurs indirects. L’agriculture (43 %), l’élevage (21 %) et l’exploitation forestière (15 %) constituent les principaux facteurs directs qui favorisent la fragmentation des formations végétales dans la FCTRP. Cependant, la baisse de fertilité des sols (39 %) et la poussée démographique (32 %) sont les principaux facteurs indirects de fragmentation des formations végétales dans la FCTRP. La forte anthropisation observée dans la FCTRP et la fragmentation des formations végétales qui en découle, révèlent l’échec des nombreuses politiques de conservation et de gestion forestière en cours dans la FCTR. Face à cette situation, il urge de mettre en place de nouveaux dispositifs de gestion forestière qui intègrent au mieux les réalités socio-économiques du milieu
Unravelling the Sea Lanes of Human Trafficking in Pakistan and Indonesia: A Bibliometric Analysis
Human trafficking is a global threat that is rife in conflict-prone countries like Pakistan. Security gaps amidst the complexity of threats in Pakistan provide a vehicle for criminal organization to take action. The tragedy of the sinking of the Greek Ship on 14 June 2023 is proof that human trafficking has developed into sea routes. This phenomenon is a medium of learning for Indonesia as a maritime country to improve the security system on sea routes. Based on these events, this research will examine the urgency of human trafficking and efforts to form a prevention strategy through a bibliometric analysis approach with the help of VOS Viewer 1.6.20 software and Scopus and Publish or Perish data base sources used to determine (1) publication trends (2) linkages between authors (3) country contributions to publications (4) novelty of publications from Human Trafficking and Deterrence strategies to help construct the relationship between the development of human trafficking and the development of publications from 2014-2023. The results showed that among the proposed keywords "Human Trafficking", "Human Trafficking in Pakistan", "Human Trafficking in Indonesia" and "Deterrence Strategy in Maritime" in the research there has not been found any relationship pattern that becomes an introduction to explain the development of the phenomenon of human trafficking through sea routes so that research on Deterrence Strategy in Maritime can be an opportunity in multidisciplinary research.
Reimagining Urban Security: Ai Solutions To Cyber Threats In African Smart Cities, Drawing Insights From The Eu
This paper critically examines the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) within the advancing framework of smart city development in Africa. As urban centres across the continent adopt Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled systems to enhance efficiency and public service delivery, they encounter complex cybersecurity challenges, such as data breaches, malware attacks, and infrastructure vulnerabilities. Utilizing insights from established European Union (EU) cybersecurity frameworks, this study investigates both the current landscape of cyber threats in African smart cities and the transformative potential of AI-driven solutions to enhance urban security.The paper reiterates AI’s role in bolstering urban cybersecurity through automated threat detection, real-time incident response, and predictive analytics. To facilitate implementation, the study identifies key strategies such as fostering local expertise, promoting public-private partnerships, and supporting innovation hubs focused on AI research for urban security applications. Policy adaptations are also recommended, including the establishment of open data standards, data localization measures, and inclusive governance frameworks, to support the sustainable integration of AI in urban security. In alignment with EU policy frameworks on data protection and system interoperability, these recommendations aim to empower African policymakers and urban planners with actionable approaches to effectively mitigate cyber risks in smart city contexts.This paper argues that African smart cities, by embracing tailored AI-driven cybersecurity solutions alongside adaptive policy frameworks, can achieve secure, resilient urban systems that capitalize on digital transformation while safeguarding public data and critical infrastructure
